RIP Bill Paxton, Popular Actor Dead at 61

It’s been confirmed this morning by TMZ that actor Bill Paxton has passed away at the age of 61 due to complications from heart surgery. Yesterday, there had been rumors of Paxton’s passing, although they were questioned as a possible internet hoax, as has been common these days. Paxton’s family released the following statement:

“It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery. A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker. Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.”

Will the next X-Men movie follow the Dark Phoenix Saga?

Although Hugh Jackman‘s time as Wolverine appears to be coming to an end with Logan, 20th Century Fox‘s X-Men movie franchise looks like it may just be getting started. Collider reports that Simon Kinberg is in talks with the studio to write and direct the next X-Men movie, rumored to be titled “X-Men: Supernova”. Kinberg has been involved as a writer and producer of every X-Men film since 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand. If he takes the director’s chair on the next X-Men movie, it will mark his feature film directorial debut. Continue reading

Matt Reeves Decides He Doesn’t Want to Direct THE BATMAN

Last week news broke that Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves was in talks to replace Ben Affleck as the director of The Batman. It was expected that he would take the gig but in the end, he opted to drop out of the running.

The new comes from Variety, but there are no reasons given as to why he decided to not pursue it. The report just says that “talks have broken down” between the director and the studio and “negotiations have stopped”.

According to an inside source, WB is still intent on making the film by “whatever means necessary.” Continue reading

WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer William James Myers, known to fans as George “The Animal” Steele, has passed away at the age of 79.

Steele was one of the wildest and most unpredictable Superstars in sports-entertainment history. Yet, despite his green tongue, hairy torso and insatiable appetite for turnbuckle pads, “The Animal” was a very well-educated man. Prior to breaking into sports-entertainment, Steele received his Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University and became a high school teacher and wrestling coach in the Detroit area. Disney and Lucasfilm announced Star Wars Force Friday II, a global fan event celebrating the launch of Star Wars: The Last Jedi products. Toys, collectibles, books, apparel, and more will go on sale beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017, with stores around the world opening for a weekend-long celebration of all things Star Wars. In addition, packaging for the new line, featuring striking images of a lightsaber-wielding Rey, Poe Dameron, and Finn, was also revealed today and can be seen above. Continue reading
