It was revealed during the Warner Bros. SDCC 2015 panel that the Green Lantern reboot will be called Green Lantern Corps. Warner Bros. flashed a logo for the film on a jumbo wraparound screen in Hall H.Since then, we haven’t heard much.

Tom Cruise In Talks To Lead THE MUMMY Reboot

A few years ago, Tom Cruise was attached to produce and star in a Van Helsing reboot from Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. That project ultimately ended up never happening, and while Kurtzman and Orci have since parted ways, Kurtzman is now one of the minds behind reimagining Universal’s monster movies into a new connected cinematic universe. Matt Singer wrote an article all about the “Legacyquel” phenomenon where “beloved aging stars reprise classic roles and pass the torch to younger successors.” Recent examples include Creed, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and X-Men: Days of Future Past. One film that almost got added to that list is the now-defunct Aliens sequel where director Neill Blomkamp’s proposed follow-up would’ve had Sigourney Weaver returning co-star alongside a now-grown Newt, who would be the franchise’s new action hero.
