Well… Shane Black Has Killed The Predator Franchise With THE PREDATOR

So, I saw The Predator last night. I was really excited about this movie! I’m such a huge fan of the franchise and I was hoping so badly that it would be a good movie! Unfortunately, the movie is a complete mess of a film! It’s easily one of the worst Predator films that has been made and I think it is the final nail in the coffin for the franchise. Director Shane Black has killed the Predator franchise!  The movie was laughably bad with a terrible script filled with some of the most god-awful dialogue. There were aspects of the film had audiences members cringing throughout the movie.

Early on in the film, when Olivia Munn’s character sees the Predator for the first time, she says “You’re one beautiful mother fucker.” Which is, as you know, is supposed to be a call back to the original film where Arnold Schwarzenegger says, “You’re one ugly mother fucker.” From that moment on, I knew the film was going to be all downhill from there and it totally was.

GODZILLA Anime Sequel Gets Release Date for Later this Month on Netflix

I’ve heard quite a bit of praise for Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters. It’s an anime movie for Godzilla and pals that’s on Netflix, and the sequel, Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle, will be released on July 18, 2018. In the sequel, Godzilla will have to face off against Mechagodzilla! The third film, Godzilla: Stareater, is reported to be even bigger with King Ghidorah getting involved. City on the Edge of Battle is directed by Hiroyuki Seshita and Kobun Shizuno with Polygon Pictures and Toho Co. producing it.

“Following up after the events of Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters, Haruo Sakaki is rescued by Miana, a girl belonging to an indigenous tribe called the “Houtua”, descendants of the humans left behind. The Houtua tell Haruo that their god was destroyed by Godzilla and left behind eggs. Meanwhile Galu Gu, the leader of the Bilusaludo, discovers that the Houtua’s spears are sourced from the “nanometal” used to build Mechagodzilla, long thought to have been destroyed at the foot of Mount Fuji in the 21st Century.”

Are you excited for this sequel? Did you love the first one?

Superman And Robocop Take On Skynet In Crazy Stop Motion SUPERMAN VS. TERMINATOR 2

If you don’t have 21 minutes to sit back and watch this film, save it for later and make time because this is one you’ll want to watch! Superman and Robocop take on Skynet in an insane adventure that feels like what would happen if Robot Chicken took itself seriously. Side note: I now want the Robot Chicken team to make a film with a scenario as crazy as this! If not DGDX Animation seems to be holding it down for the time being, so check out the video and give them some love!

Warner Bros. Delays Godzilla Sequel & Six Billion Dollar Man

Warner Bros. Delays Godzilla Sequel & Six Billion Dollar Man

Warner Bros. has announced some major shifts to their upcoming release schedule as they’ve delayed the adaptation of The Six Billion Dollar Man by a full year, pushed Godzilla: King of Monsters back two months to replace Billion‘s slot, moved up the release of Crazy Rich Asians and officially announced the release of their adaptation of The Shining sequel, Doctor Sleep.

The Six Billion Dollar Man has been in the works for over 20 years now, but now has Mark Wahlberg (Patriots Day) attached to star in the lead role. It’s been a tough few weeks for the adaptation of the hit 70’s sci-fi series, first losing its director at the beginning of the month and now the film has been pushed back a year from May 31, 2019 to June 5, 2020.

Because its release date is considered prime real estate, Warner Bros. has chosen to move its long-awaited sequel to the 2014 adaptation of Godzilla to the empty slot. The next entry in the Monster-verse will now debut May 31, 2019 instead of March 22. Michael Dougherty of Trick ‘r Treat and Krampus directs the film which brings together even more Kaiju from Toho to battle the King of the Monsters.

Toho is Planning a GODZILLA Cinematic Universe and SHIN GODZILLA Won’t Be a Part of It

Toho has seen a lot of success from the Godzilla franchise recently with the anime film series and their last live-action film Shin: Godzilla, which was so freakin’ good!

Well, Toho is now looking at building a Godzilla Cinematic Universe, much in the same way that Marvel built out their universe. Unfortunately, their plans don’t include a sequel to Shin Godzilla, which in my opinion, is one of the best Godzilla movies ever.

While talking to the Japanese outlet Nikkei Style, Keiji Ota, the “Chief Godzilla Officer” at Toho talked about the future of the franchise saying:

Zoe Saldana Offers an Update on AVATAR 2

zoe_saldana_avatar.jpg

Zoe Saldana recently gave an interview about her character Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War with the LA Times, but she also gave an update on Avatar 2 in the same interview. Don’t read the full interview unless you don’t mind spoilers for Infinity War. Saldana mentions that they are currently finishing up the motion capture work for Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 at the moment with the next part being pre-production on the live-action shots. They will then shoot the film in New Zealand. Here’s her full answer:

“We are just about finishing motion capture production on the [second and third] movies, and then after that, they go straight into pre-production for the live-action part that will shoot for six months in New Zealand. So we’re kind of only halfway done. [Laughs] It’s wonderful. We’re not complaining. We get to drive every day to Manhattan Beach and go to Pandora with our favorite director and my most favorite role model in this town.

I know I can speak for Sam Worthington right now, we are exhilarated — we get to be up against Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang, and we’re working with an amazing cast who are finally getting the opportunity to work with James Cameron. We are having a lot of fun.”

Avatar 2 is currently slated for a December 18, 2020, release.

The Predator Reshot Nearly Its Entire Third Act

The Predator Reshot Nearly Its Entire Third Act

The Predator reshot nearly its entire third act

20th Century Fox and filmmaker Shane Black are working hard to deliver The Predator in fighting shape, delaying its release from February to September in order to carry out reportedly extensive reshoots. Now co-star Keegan-Michael Key has told CinemaBlend just how extensive those reshoots are: The filmmakers behind The Predator reshot nearly the entire third act of the film!

“We just finished [reshoots] last week, and just about three-quarters of the third act was rewritten,” confirms Key. “And Shane Black is… he’s just a consummate professional, and a consummate writer. He’s a wordsmith! It was a really, really exhilarating experience, and I think that he’s still one of our most vibrant writers of cinema.”

KICK-ASS 2 Director Jeff Wadlow Shares Details on His MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Script

 Art By Gerald Parel

Back in 2014 Kick-Ass 2 director, Jeff Wadlow was attached to write and direct the new feature film adaptation of Masters of the Universe. Things ended up not working out, but in a recent interview with Collider, the director opened up and shared some details on what he was looking to do.

One thing that he says that I found interesting is that he was trying to do what Marvel did with Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: Ragnarok, before Marvel did it. He wanted to bring that kind of irreverent, playful, and fun approach, but with Masters of the Universe. But Sony Pictures wanted more of a serious straightforward fantasy tone. He explains:

“I had a really irreverent take on Masters of the Universe, and the studio, at the time, was very focused on a Game of Thrones/Lord of the Rings take. I love He-Man. I still have all my original figures from the ‘80s. That’s how I got the job. I brought them in and put them on the table and was like, ‘This is why I’m a director!’ I wrote a scene where Prince Adam meets Ram Man and says to him, ‘So, they call you Ram Man, huh?’ And he’s like, ‘Yeah.’ And he goes, ‘Do you like that name?’ And Ram Man goes, ‘I’m owning it.’ So, there was an irreverence to it, but at the time, that just didn’t gel with what they wanted to do.

Mark Hamill Talks About Recasting Leia in EPISODE IX

2016 was a rough year for geeks. So many pop culture icons were lost that year. For Star Wars fans, the biggest loss came in December 2016 with the passing of Carrie Fisher. Fisher was our princess, our hero, and our general. Her passing came after filming for The Last Jedi finished but before its premiere. This has left many wondering what will happen with Leia in Episode IX. We were all lead to believe that she would play an integral role in the film, but now that will most likely be different.

J.J. Abrams has a tough task ahead of him in writing Episode IX with Chris Terrio and having to figure out what to do with Leia. Kathleen Kennedy has already said that they will not digitally reconstruct Leia similar to Tarkin in Rogue One. This leaves an off-screen death with an explanation in the opening crawl or recasting Leia. Neither of those options will be very satisfying for fans.
