The game is being developed by Sony and developer Avalanche Studios, and I think it could be a lot of fun. Of course, that’s coming from a huge fan of the Mad Max film franchise. The first trailer focuses on the vehicle that Max will be causing destruction in while you’re playing him in the game. The car is called the Magnum Opus. The other trailer focuses on the gameplay, and it’s called Soul of a Man.

This is going to be an open world, third-person action title in which gamers will play as Mad Max, “a lone warrior who must embark on a perilous journey after his Interceptor is stolen by a deadly gang of marauders. A reluctant hero with an instinct for survival, Max wants nothing more than to leave the madness behind and find solace in the storied ‘Plains of Silence.'”

Mad Max is scheduled to be released later this year on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53597fe1e4b07ec2da3a526b/1398374374258/friday-the-13th-getting-new-hourlong-series?format=500wJason Voorhees has been brutally killing people on the big screen for years, but he’s taking his machete with him to slash his way on to the small screen. Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films and Crystal Lake Entertainment have come together to produce a new hourlong dramatic series for Friday the 13th that’s based on the characters and settings of Friday The 13th.

Sean S. Cunningham, the director of the original 1980 film will serve as executive producer on the new slasher series. Bill Basso (Terminator) and Jordu Schell (Avatar) are set to write it and according to Deadline the story re-imagines “Jason in multiple time periods.” It will be interesting to see what they actually mean by that, and how the idea is implemented into the series.

The series is take place in the present day and it will focus on “the eclectic characters of Crystal Lake who are forced to confront the return of the killer, as new secrets about his wacky family are revealed. As you know the original was took place at summer camp that was closed because of the drowning of an child. A group of  counselors try to open it back up, but they start being murdered one-by-one.

Cunningham had this to say in a statement:

“Jason Voorhees is synonymous with the genre and we plan to build on this legacy with a provocative and compelling take that expands upon the storylines that have already thrilled millions worldwide.”

Horror Inc. president Robert Barsamian added:

“Expect the show to take viewers in some exciting new directions that we’re confident will not only excite existing fans of Friday The 13th but also attract new audiences to the situations and characters that inhabit the small town of Crystal Lake.”

What are your thoughts? I ma not a fan  but i am sure there are  a lot of  fans   still loyal as there is a new movie coming out next year!

Thanos Has Been Cast and More Marvel Movie Details

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has confirmed that Thanos has already been cast for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy film.

Speaking with Empire Magazine (via ComicBookMovie), Feige confirmed that an actor has been cast for Guardians, though he wouldn’t reveal who that is exactly. “There is an actor,” he said. “I’m not sure we want to announce it yet.”

“Guardians will feel and seem the most separate [of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films],” he said. “But in a summer where people are going to see a lot of sequels, some of which are ours … we were excited about the idea of bringing something new and totally unexpected to the screen.”

But Guardians wasn’t the only subject that Feige dished about, as he also talked about Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron. He was pressed about whether the theme of the superhero sequel will focus on fathers and sons, specifically referencing J.A.R.V.I.S. possibly being given his own body (Paul Bettany is purportedly cast as The Vision, and of course is the voice of Tony Stark’s AI in the Marvel movies).

“I wouldn’t go that far, in terms of it being that direct a theme,” said Feige. “Certainly humanity and humanity’s place in our world plays a large part of it, but I think Thor’s about fathers and sons, more than this. If one were to confirm anything about Paul Bettany and look at the arc and the line of what Paul has done for us, that’s pretty unique and cool and exciting and spins right out of stories we’ve told in the past.”

Finally, Feige touched upon why the studio released concept art of the Hulkbuster in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. “That little tease was very intentional on our part,” he said. “… The specifics around it we don’t have to do for a while. It’s a piece of armour we’ve wanted to see on screen for a long time, let’s put it that way. What is the Hulkbuster suit built for?”

Guardians of the Galaxy is slated for an August 1 release, while Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out May 1, 2015, in North America (while UK and Ireland fans get to see it April 24, 2015).

Justice League, Zack Snyder Officially Set to Direct !

A Justice League feature film is not only officially on track today, but has also announced a director. The Wall Street Journal reports that Man of Steel helmer Zack Snyder will make the ensemble blockbuster his followup to 2016’s Batman vs. Superman.

“It will be a further expansion of this universe,” Warner Bros. president of worldwide production Greg Silverman tells the outlet. “’Superman vs Batman’ will lead into ‘Justice League.’”

Although no Justice League cast is official at this stage, the project is likely to again star Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Ray Fisher as Cyborg (with a view other JLAers expected to be announced in the future).

The article also offers a slightly less optimistic update on the status of a Wonder Woman solo film, noting that, while the studio is open to the idea, they feel the right script has not yet been found.

PEEPS are Getting their Own Movie!

The classic marshmallow holiday treat Peeps are getting a big screen feature film adaptation! These cavity creating candies are always a big hit during Easter, and filmmaker Adam Rifkin (Detroit Rock City, Underdog) must have got a lot of them in his Easter basket last weekend, because he’s the guy pushing it into development. I’m sure he looked at them and said to himself… “How have these not been made into a movie yet!?” So he went out, optioned the rights, and has started the long process of bringing them to a movie theater near you.

According to Deadline the film will be animated, and it is described as a “Lego Movie-esque family epic set the night before a Peeps diorama contest, when a wayward Peep gets misplaced and must adventure through the fantasy lands of different-themed dioramas before the contest’s judging begins.”

That sounds like it could work. However the movie turns out, the kids are going to love it, and there’s a lot of fun marketing ideas that a studio can play with for a franchise like this. This whole thing may sound like a silly idea, but they could make a lot of freakin’ money off of it if they play their cards right.

The report also explains that Rifkin got the idea from watching his niece and nephew make their own Peeps diorama for a school project. “That led him to discover the elaborate annual contests hosted by the likes of the Washington Post, whose winning entry this year was a black and white diorama of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s iconic ‘I Have A Dream’ speech – fashioned, of course, entirely out of the sugar-dusted marshmallows.”

I had no idea this world of Peeps existed until now! I think that’s fascinating though. He will eventually partner with a studio to make this movie happen. Rifkin will write the script, and this wouldn’t be his first time writing a family adventure film either. He previously wrote the films Mouse Hunt and Small Soldiers. He’s currently set to direct a thriller called Director’s Cut that was written by Penn Jillette of Penn and Teller fame.

What are your thoughts on this!  I think its nuts!

The Boondocks Returns, With Mixed Reactions!

boondockscreenshot

Last night, after a four-year hiatus, The Boondocks returned to Adult Swim. Aaron McGruder, the creator of the cartoon series, announced weeks ago that he wasn’t involved in what will be the final season. Add to the fact that his name, including his “created by” and “executive producer” credits, were missing from the episode, and we can pretty much assume he wasn’t joking.

Season 4 opened with a “ripped from the headlines” ode to Chris Brown, with Michael B. Jordan as “Pretty Boy Flizzy,” a singer whose reputation includes robbery and beating up his girlfriend “Christianna” on stage at the Grammys. There was even a public apology thrown in for good measure: “I let my fans down. Without you, I wouldn’t even have an R&B girlfriend to beat.”

Although the show was off the air when the Chris Brown incident occurred, it revisited the events and the sentiments surrounding the incident.

Season 4 of The Boondocks premiered last night, but did it meet expectations

JURASSIC WORLD – First Photo of Bryce Dallas Howard and Sequels

Universal Pictures has released three images from the set of director Colin Trevorrow‘s highly anticipated film Jurassic World. One of them give us our first look at the female lead Bryce Dallas Howard. The images come from EW and the director shared a fun little story from the set saying,

“Yesterday I was under a construction crane with Chris Pratt, covered with dirt, eyeballing the exact height of the dinosaur trying to kill him. We both cracked up laughing. Sometimes you just have to stop and let the joy take over.”

That’s awesome, this would be such a fun movie to be a part of. At least we’ll get to see all that fun up on the big screen, and this won’t be the last film we see in the Jurassic Park franchise either. In a recent interview with Empire the director revealed that there are planning on other sequels. I should warn you there are potential spoilers ahead.

“We definitely talked about [sequels] a lot. We wanted to create something that would be a little bit less arbitrary and episodic, and something that could potentially arc into a series that would feel like a complete story.”

I’ve enjoyed all of the Jurassic Park films that have been made, so I have no problems with the opportunity to watch more! He went on to talk about some of the characters that we might see in any sequels. One of them being the character played by Omar Sy.

“He’s essentially Chris Pratt’s best friend. They work together and have some pretty cool action scenes together. I wanted to create a relationship there that could be memorable and potentially carry on to future films.”

If that’s the case then I guess both of those characters are going to survive the dinosaur devastation in the movie. Trevorrow then goes on to talk a little bit about the plot of the film explaining,

“It’s about alpha dominance and the fact that humans have been the alpha species for a very long time, and so now we’ve brought back another that happened to be the alpha species during its time, and we have to co-exist, so what is that relationship?”

The movie is set to be released on June 12th, 2015, and I love the feeling of anticipation that I have for it.

Joss Whedon and Kevin Feige Talk Avengers: Age of Ultron and More!

As Marvel Studios’ latest release, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, continues to dominate at the box office, the studio is already full steam ahead on their next venture, Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is currently in production in London. Empire spoke with writer/director Joss Whedon and producer Kevin Feige about the project in their latest issue (special thanks to forum user ‘HunBoy’ for the transcriptions!) and the pair had some interesting things to say about the film’s villain, new additions, and the look of the movie.

“I’m having a blast with Ultron,” Whedon told the magazine. “He’s not a creature of logic – he’s a robot who’s genuinely disturbed. We’re finding out what makes him menacing and at the same time endearing and funny and strange and unexpected, and everything a robot never is.”

The sequel to the 2012 film has a few more additions to the cast, including Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Thomas Kretschmann all as new characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Don’t worry though, as Joss has a plan for them all – they’re not present for the sake of inclusion.

“I fiercely dislike the idea of just throwing in more people for the sake of doing that, but last time I had all of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes versus one British character actor, and I needed more conflict.”

Speaking of Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Feige says that their characters, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, will have some friction with the Avengers after they first meet up.

“They’re not very happy with The Avengers. Their powers are not insignificant and they’re quite different from what the Avengers have faced before.”

Whedon also mentioned that with “Age of Ultron,” he’s going for a different visual style from the first film, and that is partially due to their filming location.

“The number of different looks and textures and moods we’re getting from the British locations is stupid awesome, because this, palette-wise, is very different. I’m trying to make a different film. Because why would you make one movie twice? That seems weird.”

Shifting to another film, Empire asked Kevin Feige about their upcoming August release, Guardians of the Galaxy, and whether the infamous role of Thanos had finally been cast. Feige had a cryptic reply ready, saying:

“There is an actor. I’m not sure we want to announce it yet.”

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is set for release on August 1st with Avengers: Age of Ultron following on May 1, 2015.
