Josh Brolin to Play Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy

Gunn has previously revealed that the August 1 release is connected to Thanos, however.

Now, Latino-Review is reporting that the villain will be voiced by Josh Brolin in Guardians of the Galaxy. They say:

“An article on James Gunn’s post-production process reported a scene with Thanos on a rocket throne in Act 3, which suggests an appearance long enough that someone is going to have to voice the Mad Titan, someone that could take the part into Avengers 3 as a major villain.

That meant Marvel was looking for an actor of some caliber, someone that could give a performance to a very complex, but very purple-skinned alien villain.

Our sources tell us that person is JOSH BROLIN!!

He’ll be providing the voice of Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy and with a name and reputation like that, it’s likely he’ll join James Spader and Tom Hiddleston as actors who have tried to kill The Avengers.”

Joss Whedon has hinted before that we wouldn’t be seeing Thanos take on The Avengers until Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

“Well, Thanos is more powerful. He is so powerful; he is not someone you can just trot out and punch him. Like he did in the comics, you want him threading through the universe and to save the big finale for the big finale. He is definitely a part of what I have got going on. The thing about The Avengers is that they are very powerful but not very stable. So, there will definitely be some people that will shake them up in the next installment.

Machiko Noguchi Premium Format™ Figure by Sideshow Collectibles

200251-product-feature2-740x448From the AVP universe, Sideshow Collectibles is proud to introduce the Machiko Noguchi Premium Format™ Figure.

Popularly known as the She-Predator by fans of the Alien Vs Predator  franchise, Machiko is one of the few humans ever to be accepted by Predators as one of their own. Based on an original interpretive character study, Sideshow’s artists have envisioned the beautiful yet barbaric warrior in a customizable display that features interchangeable masked and unmasked portraits. Determined to restore her lost family honor and overcome a lonely existence, Machiko’s tough persona and hunter’s prowess is perfectly captured in her expression and pose. Having won the hard earned respect of a Yatuja leader, her striking appearance imitates theirs, wearing her dark hair slicked back in dreadlocks, customized Predator armor with a fabric netted body suit, and the mark of their clan on her brow. Standing triumphantly over a fallen Alien Queen, and armed with razor sharp wrist gauntlets, a combi-stick spear and shoulder-mounted plasma cannon, it’s plain to see Machiko can take care of herself, as part of the pack or out on her own.

Charlie Cox is Marvel’s DAREDEVIL

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53850ac3e4b0ea18bbddacc9/1401227973485/?format=750w

Latino-Review reports that Marvel is closely looking at Charlie Cox (Stardust, Boardwalk Empire) for the role of Daredevil in their upcoming Netflix series. Latino-Review got the casting of The Flash right, let’s see if their Marvel TV sources are just as good as their DC counterparts. This is the first real casting rumor for the title character of the Netflix series. Zac Efron has been rumored for a non-specific Marvel character, and Michael C. Hall said that he’d consider the project if it was offered to him.

Cox is not as well-known to the larger public as the two aforementioned actors are, perhaps this could be a breakout role for him. The Daredevil series should be a lot better than the movie, but maybe the baggage of the previous film is keeping away better known actors.

Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man Departure Due to Last-Minute Script Changes

https://i1.wp.com/i.annihil.us/u/prod/marvel/i/mg/d/a0/500201695f959.jpg?resize=522%2C354

The internet community was collectively shocked this past Friday when it was revealed that director Edgar Wright had parted ways with Marvel Studios and would no longer be directing the big screen adaptation of Ant-Man, a film he had been attached to since 2006. In a joint statement, the pair said the split was due to “differences in their vision of the film.”

The next day Latino-Review brought word that the reason for Wright’s departure was the script for the film. Marvel Studios reportedly had some notes about the script and tasked the rewrite to someone other than Wright and his co-writer Joe Cornish which resulted in a script very unlike Wright’s vision for the film. Now, The Hollywood Reporter is echoing this story in a new piece but also elaborates on a few other behind-the-scenes problems, including the heads of the departments for the film leaving the project a few weeks ago when it became clear there would be delays in the start of production.

The search for a new director is currently ongoing and will likely be announced in the coming weeks as Marvel Studios have already confirmed that this delay in production will not impact the previously-set July 17, 2015 release date. Check back here for further updates on Ant-Man as we learn them.

Set to star Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Patrick Wilson and Corey Stoll, Ant-Man follows a biochemist Dr. Hank Pym using his latest discovery, a group of subatomic particles, to create a size-altering formula. Though his first self-test goes awry, he develops an instrument that helps him communicate with and control insects. Paul Rudd will play Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Michael Douglas stars as Hank Pym.

Carrie Fisher on Returning to STAR WARS 30 Years Later

https://i1.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/538637b6e4b09d4bf2d74051/1401305014830/Return%20of%20the%20Jedi%20Final%20Scene.jpg?resize=496%2C223

It’s been 30 years since Carrie Fisher has been a part of the Star Wars universe, and it’s so cool that she’s going to be involved with the franchise again with J.J AbramsStar Wars: Episode VII. While talking to an audience during an appearance at the “Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts,” she talked about her plan to get her character right this time, killing Jabba, and how she would much rather be playing Han Solo in the movie.

“I would rather have played Han Solo. When I first read the script I thought that’s the part to be, always wry and sardonic. He’s always that. I feel like a lot of the time Leia’s either worried or pissed or, thank God, sort of snarky. But I’m much more worried and pissed than Han Solo ever was, and those aren’t fun things to play.”

Rumor has it that Han is going to have a big role in the new movie, which is one of the reasons why she thinks it would be so fun to play. Fisher goes on to talk about her experience killing off Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi.

“I had a lot of fun killing Jabba the Hutt. They asked me on the day if I wanted to have a stunt double kill Jabba. No! That’s the best time I ever had as an actor. And the only reason to go into acting is if you can kill a giant monster.”

When asked about details on her character Leia in Star Wars: Episode VII, all she said was:

“I would get in trouble no matter how I answer that question,” she joked when asked for details, although she admitted that she wanted the famous bun hairdo back for the new movie. “I’ve begged them to put the hair back on in grey and just catch me cooking with the hair, like Granny Leia.”

She concluded by saying that doing Episode VII will give her the chance to correct something about her original performance, and get the character right this time.

“We are doing it over again so I can get Princess Leia right this time. I think less British. I looked a little pretentious faking the accent. It was sort of a viral accent – it came and went.”

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII – Set Stunt Video and Creature Photo

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53861525e4b0a62a7942a49e/1401296176834/?format=750w

Here’s a bit of Star Wars: Episode VII news that has been floating around the internet that I thought I’d share. Some of them you might want to consider this a rumor for now, but you never know when it comes to stuff like this. The last photo at the end of the post might be a Spoiler, but we don’t know if it’s real or not.

First of all, it’s being reported that Hannah Levitt-Collins, Chloe Bruce, and Florian Robin will be working on the highly anticipated film as stunt doubles. Apparently the character that Daisy Ridley plays is “EXTREMELY gymnastic,” and her stunt double will be Collins. The news was posted on daisyridleynews, but the site seems to be down at the moment of writing this article. Here’s what was posted on it:

An extra on set of Star Wars Episode VII told me “today was very exciting, very exhausting, but really awesome. it was all about action today, explosions were awesome, and Daisy amazing like always, light on her feet, sharp face, beautiful, quick, and very polite.”

Also, is Hannah Levitt-Collins, a dancer/model from London, Daisy’s double for some scenes? There’s evidence she’s on set with her, just as there was with Chloe Bruce, the amazing stunt woman.

One of the stunt doubles, Florian Robin, tweeted out a photo (seen above) showing himself and Chloe in Abu Dhabi at the Qasr Al Sarab hotel, which is where some of the crew of Star Wars is staying.

John Wesley Shipp Cast as Henry Allen in THE FLASH

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53877ee0e4b0e8598637ccfa/1401388771052/john-wesley-shipp-cast-as-henry-allen-in-the-flash?format=750w

CBR recently got word that John Wesley Shipp will play Henry Allen, the father of Barry Allen in the upcoming CW show The Flash.

For those of you who don’t know, Shipp played Barry Allen in the 1990 version of The Flash. Here is the statement that site received:

Given his history with The Flash, Andrew [Kreisberg], Geoff [Johns] and I could only think of one person we wanted to play Barry’s father and that was John Wesley Shipp,” Flash executive producer Greg Berlanti said in a statement. “He gives a fantastic and emotional performance in the pilot and we are looking forward to his presence in many more episodes. Also, personally, it was just wonderful to work with him again since my days at Dawson’s Creek. He’s a great actor and a great guy.

In the show, Henry Allen has been accused of killing his wife, Barry’s mother. It sounds like he will have a prominent role in the show.
