Black widow solo film!

It has been known for some time that Marvel Studios has been considering giving Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow a solo film. During a press conference today to promote their latest release, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, studio President Kevin Feige revealed that developmental work is still underway on just such a project.

“I think the idea would be great,” he says. “We’ve got various outlines and ideas of where to take that. As Scarlett already said, there’s a big element that explores her back story in an upcoming Marvel feature. The question really is, ‘When will we take her out of the ensemble and have her do her own thing?’ As you saw in [‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’], as you’ll see in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ she’s really the key to so much of the plot development.”

Opening internationally starting on March 26 and in North America on April 4, Captain America: The Winter Soldiermarks the third big screen appearance of Johansson’s Black Widow and also stars Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Redford, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernandez.

David Fincher Wants Christian Bale to Play Steve Jobs in His Movie

Apparently, director David Fincher wants Christian Bale to play Steve Jobs in his biopic written by Aaron Sorkin. It would be awesome to see Bale in the role. I think he could pull it off perfectly. He’s got the look and the talent.

Fincher recently met with the studio about the possiblity of directing the movie. It’s not set in stone yet, but if it happens this would be my dream team of talent to bring this movie to life.

The news comes from The Wrap, which says that Bale has not yet been approached to play Jobs. I’m sure one day they will, though. The actor is currently taking a break since finishing his role as Moses in Ridley Scott‘s Exodus.

The biopic is based on Walter Isaacson‘s bestselling authorized biography. That book was based on more than 40 interviews that the author had with Jobs, as well as interviews with friends, family, and colleagues.

The film itself is said to consist of three long scenes that feature the launches of some of Apple’s most buzzed-about product launches, including the Mac, NeXT (after Jobs had left Apple), and the iPod.

Fox Dates The Fantastic Four 2, a Wolverine Sequel and a Mystery Marvel Project!

Fox Dates The Fantastic Four 2, a Wolverine sequel and a Mystery Marvel Project!

20th Century Fox is doing some serious forward-thinking as far as their portion of the Marvel Universe is concerned. The studio has just announced that James Mangold’s sequel to The Wolverine will hit on March 3, 2017 with The Fantastic Four 2 coming to theaters on July 14, 2017. They’ve also set a just-announced mystery Marvel project for July 18, 2018.

All of these dates are newly claimed territory on the release schedule and will follow the studio’s X-Men: Days of Future Past this May 23rd, X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016 (both directed by Bryan Singer) and Josh Trank’s The Fantastic Four on June 19, 2015.

There’s no word yet on what the mystery Marvel film might be, but the studio is also believed to be developing an X-Force film with Jeff Wadlow directing.

The studio has also moved Matthew Vaughn’s non-Marvel Universe comic book project, The Secret Service, even earlier from its originally-announced March 6, 2015 release to October 24 of this year. That will have it opening opposite the horror releases Ouija and Paranormal Activity 5. Ken Scott’s new comedy, formerly titled Business or Pleasure, is now title-less and will take The Secret Service‘s original March 6, 2015 date.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Has an Incredible New Trailer!

The new trailer for Bryan Singer‘s X-Men: Days of Future Past is finally here, and it’s pretty damn incredible. The trailer is just as awesome, exciting, and emotional as the first one, only it is completely packed full of new footage. I’m sure that you’re all going to love it! I’ve also included a new poster for the film that you can see above.

The trailer features our favorite mutant characters, including Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Professor X (James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen), Blink (Fan Bingbing), Bishop (Omar Sy), Quicksilver (Evan Peters), and more.

Ultron and Scarlet Witch Spotted on the Set of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

A few photos from the set of Joss Whedon‘s Avengers: Age of Ultron have surfaced and they give us our first far off look of the villain Ultron, along with new photos of Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner).

If you don’t want to get a tease of what Ultron looks like pre-CGI, then I suggest you don’t scroll down to look at the other images. If you do look at them, realize that this is not going to be the final look of the character. As I’m sure you all know, there’s a ton of CGI work that needs to be done to bring him to life.

I’m pretty confident that we’ll get out first look at some footage from this movie at San Diego Comic-Con, so if you’re going, you don’t want to miss the Marvel panel.

After getting our first look as Camren Bicondova as a young Selina Kyle and Donal Logue as detective Harvey Bullock, we now have our first photo of Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth.

The character is described as a “tough-as-nails ex-marine from East London, Pennyworth has loyally served the Wayne family. Now, in the wake of their tragic deaths, he’s fiercely protective of the young Bruce Wayne — the boy who will eventually become Batman.”

He definitely looks like he’s going to be a badass character in the series.

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES – Behind the Scenes Photo

20th Century Fox has released a new behind the scenes photo from director Matt ReevesDawn of the Planet of the Apes. The image features Toby Kebbell, who plays the ape character Koba, and according to Empire, “seems to be stirring the pot in the ape city, riproaring his way through a scene at the Ape Village. Guns, as this photo indicates, will play a crucial role on both sides of the ape/human chasm this time out.”

Hopefully we get another trailer soon that gives us a better look at what the story will entail. In the film, “a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.”

The movie is set to be released on July 11th. It also stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo, and Judy Greer.

GREEN LANTERN Scribe to Rewrite PROMETHEUS 2

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5330c02ae4b06756e825fb78/1395703857443/green-lantern-scribe-to-rewrite-prometheus-2-story-details?format=750w

20th Century Fox still plans on moving forward with that sequel to Prometheus 2, and they’ve hired Green Lantern scribe Michael Green to rewrite the script for it. Green also recently worked on the script for Ridley Scott‘s new Blade Runner movie. I can’t say I’m a big supporter of him working on this movie as Green Lantern had a terrible script.

The news comes from The Wrap, which also reveals that the movie will start production this fall and be released in March of 2016. Scott will start work on it when he is finished with his Moses film Exodus.

The report also give some details on what we can expect to see in the sequel, saying that the goal for Green is to write a sequel that is “much more alien-y and in line with the terrifying tone of past films in the franchise. Additionally, the sequel is expected to feature multiple ‘David’ androids, which means there will be more than one Michael Fassbender on screen at the same time.”

Evangeline Lilly Confirmed for ANT-MAN and Corey Stoll In Talks

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5331ab6ee4b0c9fe03c9ce72/1395764080945/evangeline-lilly-confirmed-for-ant-man-and-corey-stoll-in-talks?format=1000w

A month ago we learned that LOST and The Hobbit star Evangeline Lilly was in talks to take on the lead female role in Marvel’s Ant-Man. It’s now been confirmed that her deal has closed, and she’s officially on board. Word on the net is she will be playing Hank Pym’s daughter and Scott Lang’s love interest. It would be pretty cool if she turned out to be Wasp though, she would easily fit the character. In the comics she is the daughter Vernon van Dyne and Dr. Henry “Hank” Pym was his associate. Who knows how it will all work out in the movie though.

The Wrap also reports that House of Cards and Non-Stop actor Corey Stoll is in early talks to join Lilly, Paul Rudd, and Michael Douglas in the movie. There’s no word on who he will be playing in the film if he’s cast, but all will be revealed in time.
