X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut Coming Summer 2015 To Restore Anna Paquin’s Screen Time

A subplot revolving around Anna Paquin’s Rogue will be restored in an extended cut of X-Men: Days of Future Past which will be made available on home entertainment platforms next summer, according to Producer Simon Kinberg.

The cut will reportedly be called the “Rogue Cut,” according to Variety.

More than 10 minutes of extra footage will be added to the extended cut of the film, including a storyline seen briefly in the film’s trailer in which Paquin’s character took part in an action scene in the film’s bleak future. The Rogue Cut will also include other sequences involving other characters.

The theatrical version of the film is available now on digital streaming services and is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on October 14.

“It’s a big chunk, a substantial part of the movie,” Kinberg said of Paquin’s story, which was removed to trim the film’s runtime since it wasn’t actually essential to the central plot.. “We want to give (fans) the fullest picture of the film — behind the camera, and in front of it.”

“Every movie has scenes that are cut out, but not every movie has scenes cut out with such a beloved character,” Kinberg added.

Paquin, who appeared previously in X-MenX2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand, appears briefly in the theatrical cut of the film — but only in a brief cameo. The initial reports were that Paquin had been cut from the film altogether, but when the movie went back for reshoots, Singer managed to get the True Blood star on camera again.

I would love to see what was taken out but why a year?  will u get bother versions.

ESPN Suspends Bill Simmons Three Weeks Over Goodell Criticism

ESPN Suspends Bill Simmons Three Weeks Over Goodell Criticism

Bill Simmons practically begged ESPN to suspend him, and the oafish and epically tight-assed media behemoth did just that Wednesday night, giving him three weeks for coming to the same conclusion about NFL commissioner Roger Goodell that just about everyone in the thinking public has.

On a BS Report podcast uploaded Monday, Simmons roundly criticized Goodell and called him a liar. Mediaite has the transcript of Simmons’s remarks:

“Goodell, if he didn’t know what was on that tape, he’s a liar,” Simmons said Monday. “I’m just saying it. He is lying. I think that dude is lying. If you put him up on a lie detector test that guy would fail. For all these people to pretend they didn’t know is such fucking bullshit. It really is — it’s such fucking bullshit. And for him to go in that press conference and pretend otherwise, I was so insulted. I really was.”

He went on to challenge ESPN:

“I really hope somebody calls me or emails me and says I’m in trouble for anything I say about Roger Goodell,” he said. “Because if one person says that to me, I’m going public. You leave me alone. The commissioner’s a liar and I get to talk about that on my podcast.”

ESPN previously handed Simmons a two-weeks Twitter suspension for criticizing an ESPN radio partner and a three-day Twitter suspension for criticizing First Take. This is the first time Simmons has been suspended for something he said on his podcast, though he has had previous battles with ESPN over how his podcast is edited.

ESPN’s full statement is below:

“Every employee must be accountable to ESPN and those engaged in our editorial operations must also operate within ESPN’s journalistic standards. We have worked hard to ensure that our recent NFL coverage has met that criteria. Bill Simmons did not meet those obligations in a recent podcast, and as a result we have suspended him for three weeks.”

Simmons did not respond to a request for comment.

Alexander Armstrong is the new voice of Danger Mouse!

Alexander Armstrong is the new voice of Danger Mouse!

Danger Mouse is coming back, with an updated look and a new voice – and now we know Alexander Armstrong will be replacing David Jason as the voice of the iconic mouse spy.

Although Danger Mouse, which ran from 1981 to 1992, originally aired on ITV in the UK (Nickelodeon in the US), the new series will air on Children’s BBC – and it’s good to see that his design remains largely intact, a modernisation rather than a radical change. But the delightful news coming from the BBC is that he’ll be voiced by Actor, Comedian and Pointless host Alexander Armstrong. He’ll be joined by Kevin Eldon as Danger Mouse’s long-suffering assistant Penfold, whilst Dave Lamb (who UK readers will know as the narrator for the reality TV series Come Dine With Me) will narrate the series. Shauna MacDonald rounds out the main cast playing the villain, Professor Squawkencluck – niece of the original Professor, who was a male in the original series.

The new series of Danger Mouse will air sometime next year.

Alex Winter Gives an Excellent Update on ‘Bill & Ted 3’

Alex Winter Gives an Excellent Update on 'Bill & Ted 3'

Actor-director Alex Winter — aka Bill S. Preston Esq. himself — has revealed a whole heap of bodacious new details about the upcoming Bill & Ted 3.

Winter and co-star Keanu Reeves will return for the follow-up, which has already been 23 years in the making after 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.

The filmmaker was discussing his first acting role in a long time as a shady assistant in crafty thriller Grand Piano, but we couldn’t help but ask him about the state of the fan favourite franchise.

image

“[Bill & Ted] will be 40-something and it’s all about Bill and Ted grown up, or not grown up,” Winter tells us. “It’s really sweet and really f—ing funny.

“But it’s a Bill & Ted movie, that’s what it is. It’s for the fans of Bill & Ted. It fits very neatly in the [series]. It’s not going to feel like a reboot. The conceit is really funny: What if you’re middle-aged, haven’t really grown up and you’re supposed to have saved the world and maybe, just maybe, you kinda haven’t?”

“There’s many versions of ourselves in this movie,” he continues. “[It’s] answering the question: ‘What happened to these guys?’ They’re supposed to have done all this stuff, they weren’t the brightest bulbs on the tree, what happened 20 years later? To answer that question in a comedic way felt rich with possibility.”

image

But fans expecting something to see in the near future had better prepare for disappointment.

“The thing we had going against us is that word got out,” he explains. “That was kind of a bummer. It just takes a long time to put a movie together. Now we’re having to build this thing in public, which is fine. I just feel bad [the fans] have to get dragged through this long, boring, protracted process.”

Above all, it’s good to hear that the members of Wyld Stallyns are still good mates off-screen.

“Me and Keanu and [original writers] Chris [Matheson] and Ed [Solomon] are all very close and have remained close over the years,” says Winter. “We’d be having dinner and we’d be like, ‘is there a point? Is there a way in?’ We’d kick an idea around and go no and we would leave it alone for a bunch of years. I guess about four years ago we had an idea together that we thought was pretty great. I think it was because so much time had gone by that it was great.

image

“It was really just the four of us and we were really very measured about it. It took time to construct the idea, it took Chris and Ed time to build the first draft. Then we put a producer together and got a director [Galaxy Quest helmer Dean Parisot]. We’ve been working on drafts for the last couple of years. The script’s been finished for a while, but comedy is so specific. We’re in that world where producers are on, financiers are on and we’re just working and reworking the script.”

We, for one, are very excited to see what they come up with — and whether they’re still rocking that awesome facial hair.

You may have to wait to see him as Bill, but you can catch Winter in Grand Piano on VOD now.

You can read more about how he found it on CBM or just decipher it from the slideshow. It’s very cool to see the Marvel universe throw a nod to the Black Panther, now all they need to do now is make the movie.https://i2.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/54257688e4b0ac0d5fca1f7b/54257690e4b016149c78bb93/1411741328781/15167234680_34d939901d_o.png?resize=457%2C261Plus, we have three new clips. FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot Will Have a Different Origin Story

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5425cb24e4b0fe85e4b6a89c/1411762981393/?format=750w

The Josh Trank-directed Fantastic Four reboot is done filming and slated for release next June, but we still don’t know that much about it. In fact, we hadn’t realized they had started filming until Kate Mara tweeted a photo of the team celebrating the end of shooting. Surprisingly little has leaked (they haven’t even released any official photos of the cast), but Schmoes Know has some new details on the film that just might pique your interest.

First of all, addressing the outcry that accompanied news that Michael B. Jordan had been cast as Johnny Storm: Johnny and Sue Storm (Mara) are still siblings. Sue is just adopted.

Next, the group’s origin story will be a bit different than it was in the original comics and the previous movies. Instead of the mission in outer space, the group will gain their powers after a lab experiment in which they create a portal to another world or dimension goes wrong. The powers are gained from their exposure, which is more like the team’s origin in the Ultimate Universe. Screenwriter Simon Kinberg has previously said that the film will be more scientifically grounded than past iterations and more like the Ultimate storyline.

In other good news, the Schmoes also claim that the movie will be VERY character driven. They used all caps like that. Kinberg has called the movie a coming of age story, so it makes sense that the focus would be on the relationships between the four and the villain, Victor von Doom, and they’ve picked the right director for that. Trank’s previous film, Chronicle, told a big story by focusing on the characters, and it worked really well.

Fantastic Four also stars Miles Teller, Jamie Bell, and Toby Kebbell, and you can expect it to hit screens on June 19, 2015.

Simon Kinberg Teases Returning Characters, Potential Re-Casting for X-Men: Apocalypse

https://i2.wp.com/cdn1-www.superherohype.com/assets/uploads/2014/09/x-men-apocalypse-header-6.jpg?w=584

Even before this year’s colossal hit X-Men: Days of Future Past debuted, 20th Century Fox was already making plans for a follow-up in the form of X-Men: Apocalypse. Since then, a few more details on the film have been revealed, including what mutants could pop up and who could return, but so far the majority of what we know is that it will focus primarily on the returning “First Class” characters.

Series writer and producer Simon Kinberg took part in a Q&A with Yahoo! recently in which he was asked about the upcoming film and whether we might see some of the other future mutants (Kitty Pryde, Bishop) return for future X-Men films.

“The X-Men film that we’re working on now as everybody knows is X-Men: Apocalypse and that really follows the stories of the let’s say ‘First Class’ X-Men. Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, many others of that generation of X-Men. So, in future X-Men films? Perhaps, but in ‘Apocalypse’ it will really be the continuation of the ‘past’ of ‘Days of Future Past.’”

Kinberg was also asked about recasting any of the original “X-Men” actors for the upcoming “Apocalypse,” to which he replied:

“If we included some of the original X-Men, like Storm, Jean, Scott, and others, yeah we would have to recast them, because Apocalypse takes place a good twenty years before “X1,” which now insanely was fifteen years ago. It would be very hard to do. Halle, Famke, and Jimmy, and others have done such wonderful jobs of bringing those characters to life and they’re so identified, those actors, with the parts now. So it would be a tall task, but I also would have said before “First Class” there would be no way we could find actors who could stand alongside Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, and I think we managed to with Michael and James finding their own interpretation of the characters, not doing an impersonation. So, are we going to have to recast? If some of those characters were in the movie we would, but we’ll see.”

Despite being purposefully vague about whether or not these characters could appear in the film, Kinberg has already mentioned previously that some of the original characters will be present for the next movie. It could be argued that he was referencing Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine or perhaps Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier, but given director Bryan Singer was quoted as saying he wanted to introduce “familiar characters at different ages” in the film, it seems likely we’ll be seeing younger versions of the original cast.

Kinberg, along with X2: X-Men United writers Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty, is developing the screenplay for the film which Bryan Singer will return to once again direct. X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27, 2016.

Supergirl Is Going To Be Changed In These Specific Ways

https://i2.wp.com/www.cinemablend.com/images/sections/67478/supergirl_67478.jpg?w=584In the comics, the reason Supergirl is named Supergirl is because she was only a teenager when she met and trained with Superman to hone her special powers given to her by Earth’s yellow sun. Basically, her title is meant to be an indication of her young age (and, of course, to differentiate her from any characters named “Superwoman”).

This makes us wonder why the Supergirl that will be featured in the upcoming CBS series has that name, given that she will be aged up to be 24 when she first hones her powers.

This under-the-radar bit of info comes to us from The Hollywood Reporter’s story from a few days ago, when it was officially revealed that Supergirl has gotten a series commitment from CBS. In that write-up, the trade included a brief breakdown of the show’s plot, and in doing so revealed that there will be a slight but interesting change made to the titular character’s origin:

The hourlong drama… centers on Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin, who was born on the planet Krypton and escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she has been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.

For comparison, going back to the original Supergirl’s debut in 1959, the character was introduced as one of the only survivor of Argo City, part of Krypton that managed to stay intact after the planet’s explosion and drifted through space as a result. When the inhabitants begin to die due to exposure to Green Kryptonite, the young Kara Zor-El is sent to Earth by her father, Zor-El, to be brought up by Superman. Living at an orphanage and adopting the name Linda Lee, she begins training with her mentor and by the time she starts attending high school she is allowed to start openly be a superhero.

So why exactly is this happening? Sure, making Supergirl 24-years-old puts her in the same range as Stephen Amell’s Arrow and Grant Gustin’s Flash, but wouldn’t some more age diversity be kind of a nice thing? And it can’t be a casting thing, because Hollywood has had actors in their 20s (and even 30s) playing teens for decades. The only reasonable explanation I can come up with is that the studio and showrunners Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler want to avoid comparisons to Smallville, but would that really be that hard to do on the creative end?

It will be interesting to see how this whole situation shakes out, but it may be a while before we get any answers, as we still don’t really know the full details of the timetable for the Supergirl series. Stay tuned for more details as they emerge.

Jeremy Renner Not Interested in a HAWKEYE Solo Movie

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5422e88be4b0e4fb553f528a/1411573909193/jeremy-renner-not-interested-in-a-hawkeye-solo-movie?format=750w

We still haven’t seen a fully realized Hawkeye in the Marvel cinematic universe, but we’ve heard that he will have a much bigger role in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He originally had a part in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but it was ultimately cut out. MTV recently sat down with Jeremy Renner and talked about the character. During the interview, he teased that he could show up in Captain America 3, and also said that he’s not really interested in seeing Hawkeye get his own solo film.

“I’m happy to be the ensemble. I’m not scratching or clawing to do a solo movie by any means. I think he’s a utility guy that can bounce around into other people’s universes a little bit, especially ‘Cap 3’. There’s whispers of that.”

I don’t think Hawkeye needs his own film. The closest thing to a solo movie that I think could work would be if he and Black Widow teamed up for some kind of mission. I’m just curious to see what they do with the character in Age of Ultron. Hopefully Whedon was able to turn him into a badass.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release on May 1st, 2015, and Captain America 3 will come out on May 6th, 2016.

New STAR WARS Action Figure Series Starts with Darth Vader

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5422cedee4b02e90f651de40/1411567331344/new-star-wars-action-figure-series-started-with-darth-vader?format=750w

The Japanese toymaker, Revoltech, has started a cool new line of Star Wars action figures. They’ve revealed the first figure that they’ll be releasing in the series, which is Darth Vader. It’s labeled as figure “#001,” which means there are more to come.

As you can see in the photo above, the awesome looking figures are also posable. Even Darth Vader’s cape has points of articulation! That’s definitely a unique feature that I don’t think I’ve seen in a toy before.

The figure will be released in December, and you can pre-order Vader here for $64.99.http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5422cf15e4b0b4622904d0e8/1411567382714/new-star-wars-action-figure-series-started-with-darth-vader2?format=750whttp://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5422cef1e4b0053e95da74d2/1411567345511/new-star-wars-action-figure-series-started-with-darth-vader?format=750whttp://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/5422cf03e4b0053e95da753c/1411567363664/new-star-wars-action-figure-series-started-with-darth-vader1?format=750w
