As revealed by Predator 4 co-writer Fred Dekker on Facebook, the script for the next installment of the long-running sci-fi/action franchise is in. While 2010’s would-be reboot, Predators, produced by Robert Rodriguez and directed by Nimrod Antal, grossed over $120 million worldwide off a $40 million budget, and received not-terrible reviews from critics (a victory for this kind of film), the fan excitement just wasn’t there. Can the new film reverse course and finally give us a “Predator” movie to care about? Details are scant so far, but here are five things we know about the project that was first announced last summer: Continue reading

Lucasfilm Will Make More STAR WARS Saga Movies After EPISODE IX

Lucasfilm has already announced that they will be releasing at least two Star Wars films a year for many years to come. Chairman and CEO or The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger, recently confirmed plans for additional Star Wars films. He told Newsbeat:

“There are five Star Wars films – four more with Episode VII: The Force Awakens – that are in varying stages of development and production. There will be more after that, I don’t know how many, I don’t know how often.”

I think most of us expected this, but it’s nice to have confirmation. Hell, Disney didn’t spend $4 billion to end the saga at Episode IX! As of right now, the studio is developing Rian Johnson‘s Star Wars: Episode VIII, Colin Trevorrow‘s Star Wars: Episode IX, Gareth Edwards‘ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Chris Miller and Phil Lord‘s untitled Han Solo movie.

However, ever since the show ended its 218-episode run back in May of 2011, Welling took a much-needed break and stepped away from the limelight, only resurfacing to make the occassional appearance in smaller films such as Draft DayParkland, and the The Choice.

The relatively reserved actor recently sat down with Buzzfeed to reflect about his time on Smallville. Welling, who landed the coveted role at the age of 24, goes into length about getting the part and how Clark’s journey on the show helped shape his own journey in life:  Continue reading

The DeLorean is going back… back into production!

For the first time in more than 30 years, the DeLorean, made famous by the ‘Back to the Future’ movies, is going back into production.

KPRC reports the federal government has approved a low volume manufacturing bill for the DeLorean Motor Company.

This will be the first time the DeLorean will be manufactured on American soil, at a plant in Texas.

“It’s fantastic! It is a game changer for us. We’ve been wanting this to happen,” CEO Stephen Wynne told KPRC.

The company will build replica 1982 DeLoreans, which Wynne estimates will take about one week each.

You can buy a refurbished model for $45 – 55,000.

Wynne hopes to sell these new DeLoreans for under $100,000. He thinks the company will be able to build about 300 cars.

The first new car is expected to roll off the line in early 2017. So does this mean I can actuallt buy and drive around in the Back to The Future car? (Actually, no.)

Character actor Abe Vigoda, whose leathery, sad-eyed face made him ideal for playing the over-the-hill detective Phil Fish in the 1970s TV series “Barney Miller” and the doomed Mafia soldier in “The Godfather,” died Tuesday at age 94.

Vigoda’s daughter, Carol Vigoda Fuchs, told The Associated Press that Vigoda died Tuesday morning in his sleep at Fuchs’ home in Woodland Park, New Jersey. The cause of death was old age. “This man was never sick,” Fuchs said.

His death brought to an end years of questions on whether he was still alive — sparked by a false report of his death more than three decades ago. Continue reading
