New BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Movie in Development at Universal

Wait ’til the old man hears about this! Those frakkin’ toasters over in Hollywood are once again trying their hand at bringing Battlestar Galactica to the big screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, producer Michael DeLuca is partnering with Bluegrass Films to develop the venerable sci-fi series as a franchise at Universal Pictures. It’s been rumored for a few months that Tom Cruise would star in Universal’s reboot of The Mummy, and now the studio has made it official — but they’ve also delayed the film for three more months. Tom Cruise In Talks To Lead THE MUMMY Reboot

A few years ago, Tom Cruise was attached to produce and star in a Van Helsing reboot from Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. That project ultimately ended up never happening, and while Kurtzman and Orci have since parted ways, Kurtzman is now one of the minds behind reimagining Universal’s monster movies into a new connected cinematic universe. First up on that slate is a reboot of The Mummy, which Kurtzman is going to direct himself, and now, according to Variety, Tom Cruise is in talks to play the lead role in that film. Continue reading
