It’s happening!!! After all these years of talk about a third Bill & Ted film, Deadline is reporting that Bill & Ted Face The Music is officially in pre-production and that Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are officially signed on to reprise their roles as Ted “Theodore” Logan and Bill S. Preston Esq.
The film is currently looking for investors at Cannes and it is said to be one of the hottest properties on the market, so that’s a plus!
The script for the film was written by original creators Chris Matheson (Imagine That) and Ed Solomon (Men in Black), and there’s Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) who is still attached to direct. On top of that, Steven Soderbergh is an executive producer on the project!
For years Bill & Ted fans have been hearing about a third Bill & Ted movie called Bill & Ted Face The Music. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are both on board to make the movie if a studio ever decides to pull the trigger on it. There’s already a script that was written by Ed Solomon andChris Matheson, the story of which followsthe older middle-aged Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted ‘Theodore’ Logan back in time to interact with their past selves and George Carlin’s character Rufus, “using footage from 1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.” It finds our heroes “still struggling to complete the great work of their life.”
Now Reeves, Winter, Matheson, and Solomon have recently reunited for an interview with Entertainment Weekly to talk about Bill and Ted 3 and the long process they have gone through in trying to get it into production. Solomon says:
“We wanted to get it right. We wanted to have it be something that we — all four of us, Chris and I, Alex and Keanu — could stand behind, and know we’re doing this for the right reasons.”
Bill & Ted 3 has been slowly inching forward over the past ten years. There’s a script that was written by Ed Solomon that everyone seems keen on doing including Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) is attached to direct the film and today we’ve learned what the title of the film is and also some plot details.
This news comes from Solomon himself in an interview with Digital Spy, so this is all legit. The movie will be called Bill & Ted Face The Music and the story will send the older middle-aged Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted “Theodore” Logan back in time to interact with their past selves and George Carlin’s character Rufus, “using footage from 1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.” Solomon went on to reveal:
“They return to that scene at the Circle K when Bill and Ted first meet themselves, only now they’re watching their younger selves and looking at the exuberance and joy that they had at that time in their lives. And they see Rufus, they see George Carlin…”

After years of talk and work to develop a script for Bill & Ted 3, it looks like it’s actually getting close to production. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have been very vocal about how excited they are for this movie – especially Alex Winter. Let’s face it – one of these gentlemen starred in three Matrix and two John Wick movies, and the other… just waited my table at Applebee’s. In a recent interview with Forbes, Winter says it’s only a matter of time. Continue reading →
Hollywood doesn’t allow for many surprises as simple and sensationally entertaining as John Wick much anymore. What could have been yet another disposable action jaunt with zero joy and unendurably lazy self-awareness turned out to be a vibrantly playful debut for stunt-coordinators-turned-directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch. According to THR, actor/rapper (and recent Oscar-winner) Common is set to play the film’s “chief villain, a head of security for a female crime lord.” That raises some interesting questions (namely, who is this female crime lord and which actress will ultimately play her?), but any more information is frustratingly hard to come by at this point. With production set to begin this week, we’ll hopefully know more soon. Reeves had some intriguing things to say about the sequel recently, but didn’t offer many concrete details about the movie’s plot.
The original John Wick was co-directed by David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, but the sequel will only be helmed by Stahelski. Star Keanu Reeves is coming back (“yeah, I’m thinkin’ [he’s] back”) to reprise the title role of an assassin who dove back into the underworld to get revenge on a gangster’s son who murdered his dog. Meanwhile, Common will play a mysterious role in Warner Bros.’ upcoming Suicide Squad film next summer.
John Wick was one of 2014’s most badass and wicked awesome action films. I loved every freakin’ minute of it, and I’m excited for the sequel that’s in development. Keanu Reeves is set to reprise his role, and one of the directors of the original film, Chad Stahelski, is coming back to helm the sequel.
We now have some details regarding the plot of the upcoming movie thanks to an interview with Reeves. While talking to Collider, the actor reveals who he’ll be fighting for in the story: Continue reading →
Thunder Road confirmed as part of the announcement of their upcoming Outlaws Inc. film, that John Wick 2 filming will begin this fall. A sequel to 2014’s critically-acclaimed revenge thriller, John Wick 2 will featureKeanu Reeves reprising the title role along with directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski and screenwriter Derek Kolstad. John Wick 2 will be released through Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment and will be produced by Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk, who also produced the first film.
“With such tremendous fan and critical support for ‘John Wick,’ we knew that there was still so much more of this story to tell,” Lionsgate’s President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions said earlier this year. “We are thrilled that Keanu, David and Chad have re-teamed with us and promise to bring audiences even more excitement the second time around.” Continue reading →
