Sigourney Weaver is Netflix’s biggest villain in Defenders

Marvel’s head of TV Jeph Loeb just announced that Sigourney Weaver will be the main villain in Netflix’s The Defenders. The surprise reveal was made at New York Comic Con, where fans got to see Weaver come onstage next to the Defenders themselves, Charlie Cox, Finn Jones, Krysten Ritter, and Mike Colter.

We don’t know what villain Weaver will play, but the casting is obviously big news. As essentially the first lady of sci-fi, Weaver is iconic for her roles in Ghostbusters, Avatar, and obviously the Alien series. We’re looking forward to whatever it is she does.

Sigourney Weaver Says Neill Blomkamp’s ALIEN Sequel Will Be “Worth The Wait”

When Ridley Scott decided to make the Prometheus sequel Alien: Covenant his next movie, that put Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5 in a holding pattern. Blomkamp’s movie is set after the events of James Cameron’s Aliens and reportedly ignores the other sequels in the franchise, and Scott wanted to take a crack at making another bridge movie between Prometheus and the first Alien before someone else came in and told another story that takes place further down the timeline.

Sigourney Weaver, who will be working with Blomkamp on Alien 5, has given a little update about the movie (via Aggressive Comix) and she says it’ll be “worth the wait.” Continue reading

Blomkamp‘s Alien Movie Will Ignore Alien 3 and Resurrection

In an interview with Sky News, (during a promotional tour for Blomkamp’s upcoming sci-fi flick Chappie), Blomkamp and Sigourney Weaver revealed that they intend to give Ripley a “proper finish” – one the pair don’t think was achieved in Alien 3 or Alien: Resurrection.
