Activision has announced (via USA Today) that a brand new Ghostbusters video game will debut later this summer, arriving on July 12, just ahead of the new film on July 15.

The four-player co-op game takes placed after the events of the upcoming film and sees players forming a new squad of Ghostbusters. Players will be able to pick from male and female characters vying to keep New York City safe, again. Continue reading

‘The Mist’ Stephen King TV Adaptation Gets Series Order At Spike

The Mist

A month and a half after Spike gave a pilot order to drama “The Mist”, based on the Stephen King novella, the project, from TWC-Dimension Television, has received a straight-to-series pickup.

“The Mist”, which marked Spike’s first pilot order since the network returned to the scripted space, is now looking to become the network’s first original scripted series in a decade with  production slated to begin in summer 2016 for a 2017 debut. Continue reading

James Cameron Announces Four Avatar Sequels and Reveals Logo

During 20th Century Fox’s CinemaCon presentation, James Cameron offered an update on his Avatar franchise, and announced that he is now going to make four Avatar sequels. Now we have an idea why James Cameron has continued to delay his Avatar sequels.The last we heard there was only three, I imagine next year he’ll announce four more – just to tie Star Wars. I’m convinced that Cameron will be making these Avatar films throughout the rest of his career. So much for a live-action Battle Angel anytime soon.

Cameron revealed that the sequels are being created as films that will stand on their own so they will tell individual stories that, together, will “form a complete saga”. Continue reading

Proving That This is Actually Happening, Paramount Releases First Image Of Scarlett Johansson in ‘Ghost In The Shell’

The western adaptation of the anime awesomeness that is Ghost in the Shell has officially entered production with its first still from the film. Scarlett Johansson is not exactly busting out of her Black Widow stereotype, by still proving to be a stone-cold killer in bringing this comic book series to life!

The first released image shows us Johansson’s Major Matoko Kusanagi, the protagonist of the film and a one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid. Her role in the movie is to investigate the death of an arms dealer, one year after the end of WWIV. Continue reading

‘Spider-Man’ Animated Movie Logo Revealed

 

The big news out of Sony Pictures presentation at CinemaCon was the new Spider-Man Tom Holland taking the stage, where the official title Spider-Man: Homecoming was unveiled. However, that wasn’t the only Spidey news that came out of the convention, with the studio unveiling the official logo for their Untitled Animated Spider-Man Project, which is arriving in theaters sometime in 2018.
