New Ghostbusters Video Game Coming July 12

Activision has announced (via USA Today) that a brand new Ghostbusters video game will debut later this summer, arriving on July 12, just ahead of the new film on July 15.

The four-player co-op game takes placed after the events of the upcoming film and sees players forming a new squad of Ghostbusters. Players will be able to pick from male and female characters vying to keep New York City safe, again. Continue reading

New footage of cancelled Avengers game emerges

Prior to THQ’s shuttering in 2012, the studio had been workig on a big-budget superhero game tied to Marvel’s The Avengers movie. The game, tentatively titled “The Avengers: The Movie,” was designed as a first-person action game in which you could play as members of the Avengers; however, it was cancelled in the wake of THQ Australia’s closing.

While we’ve seen leaked footage of the cancelled game previously, a brand new video, courtesy of Unseen 64 and DidYouKnowGaming, has emerged, offering more gamplay footage, assets, and even details about the game’s development. Continue reading

Return to the Original Animated Series in Transformers Devastation

Though E3 is set to officially begin this week, BestBuy.Ca (via IGN) jumped the gun on one new title set to be revealed in the form of “Transformers Devastation”, a cell-shaded action game that brings players back to the original animated series. Developed by Platinum Games, the title is officially described as follows:

Face off against Megatron and battle it out with the Decepticons in Transformers Devastation. Equipped with fast action capabilities, this game allows for instant robot to vehicle attacks, slam downs, counterattacks, and infinite combos for a unique master combat system. Five difficulty levels also deliver hours of intense gameplay.

• Autobots face off against the Decepticons when Megatron discovers a way to harness the enormous power of plasma energy to cyberform Earth

• Platinum Games signature fast action allows instant robot to vehicle attacks, slam downs, counterattacks, and infinite combos for a unique master combat system

• Features 5 playable Autobots including Optimus Prime, Bubblebee, Sideswipe, Wheeljack, and Grimlock

• A deep customization system and 5 difficulty levels with overhauls in enemy composition deliver hours of intense gameplay

Star Wars Battlefront will debut in April at Star Wars Celebration

Star Wars Battlefront will be unveiled next month at Star Wars Celebration, the semi-annual fan convention, Electronic Arts announced today.

“We’re thrilled to share that Star Wars Battlefront will be taking part in Star Wars Celebration next month in Anaheim, CA from April 16-19,” a post on EA’s site reads. “We could not think of a better or more appropriate place to debut the game officially for the first time than the premier event that celebrates the Star Wars universe and the legions of fans who have fallen in love with it.” Continue reading
