SINISTER SIX Movie Could Still Happen If Marvel Wants It To

When Marvel and Sony teamed up to reboot Spider-Man and introduce the superhero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans were excited as hell! Of course, in the process some things were sacrificed like the Sinister Six movie that Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods) was developing. I was more excited about that project than anything else Sony was working on before Marvel came into the picture.

In a recent interview with io9, Goddard opened up about his original vision of the film, explaining that it would have been standalone Spider-Man movie set in the world of The Amazing Spider-Man, and it would have featured the return of Andrew Garfield as the web-slinger. Continue reading →

John Wick 2 Filming Begins This Fall!

John Wick 2 begins production this fall!

Thunder Road confirmed as part of the announcement of their upcoming Outlaws Inc. film, that John Wick 2 filming will begin this fall. A sequel to 2014’s critically-acclaimed revenge thriller, John Wick 2 will feature Keanu Reeves reprising the title role along with directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski and screenwriter Derek Kolstad. John Wick 2 will be released through Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment and will be produced by Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk, who also produced the first film.

“With such tremendous fan and critical support for ‘John Wick,’ we knew that there was still so much more of this story to tell,” Lionsgate’s President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions said earlier this year. “We are thrilled that Keanu, David and Chad have re-teamed with us and promise to bring audiences even more excitement the second time around.” Continue reading →

Bryan Singer Set to Direct 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA

Bryan Singer announced via Instagram that his next film project after X-Men: Apocalypse will be a new big screen adaptation of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. He posted a photo of the script he has been working on and offered the following statement:

“It’s my 50th birthday (ouch), and I just put the finishing touches on the script for my next film. A story I’ve wanted to retell since childhood. Guillermo Del Toro Says PACIFIC RIM 2 Isn’t Dead Yet

Just yesterday, we wrote about how production on Pacific Rim 2 has been delayed indefinitely, and THR’s report indicated that the movie might not ever get made. But writer/director Guillermo del Toro isn’t quite ready to give up on the project yet: in a new interview with EW, he tells the outlet that the project is “not gone.”

“We are still turning in a screenplay and a budget in three weeks. As far as I’m concerned, it’s not gone. We’re still on it.”

He also mentions that the movie’s delay is temporary, saying “It moved further. I may do another movie in the middle.” That mystery film is likely the “Splash meets Wall-E” pitch he’s working on for Fox Searchlight, news of which leaked a few days ago. But del Toro isn’t completely lacking in self-awareness. He knows full well that his passion projects cost a lot of money to make and aren’t exactly easy sells.

“I can tell you this, if I was a billionaire, I would definitely do Hellboy 3, Pacific Rim 2, and At the Mountains of Madness.” He laughs. “And I would quickly become a millionaire.”
