Earlier today we learned that Jake Gyllenhaal was in talks to take on the role of Mysterio in director Jon WattsSpider-Man: Homecoming sequel. Now, thanks to Variety, we know that Michael Keaton will be back in the role of The Vulture!

I wasn’t sure if we’d ever see the character again because it’s rare for a villain to show up more than once in the MCU. But I’m certainly happy to see that this villain will be back! He’s one of my favorites and in my opinion one of the best villains introduced in the MCU.

There’s no word on how big of a role he’ll play in the movie, but the Vulture and Mysterio do have a connection. In Spider-Man: Homecoming Vulture teamed up with Phineas Mason a.k.a. The Tinkerer to help him develop weapons. In the comic book, Mysterio teams up with the Tinkerer to help him develop gadgets to fight Spider-Man.

Maybe the two will find a way to team up against Spider-Man? There are no story details on the film, so all we can do is speculate about what the roles of these characters will be in the story.

Are you happy to hear that Keaton will be back as The Vulture, though?

Hasbro has revealed their line of Spider-Man: Homecoming action figures. There are a couple of 6-inch figures of Spidey, the villain Vulture, a Spider-Man car, and a couple playsets. The coolest thing in the collection is the Spider-Man action figure featuring Peter Parker’s homemade suit. This suit has been briefly teased in Captain America: Civil War and in the trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming because apparently, we’ll be getting a little back story on Parker before he meets up with Tony Stark and gets his new suit. This is our best look yet at Spidey’s early costume. It looks lie a bootleg costume you see in Times Square. Continue reading

SINISTER SIX Movie Could Still Happen If Marvel Wants It To

When Marvel and Sony teamed up to reboot Spider-Man and introduce the superhero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans were excited as hell! Of course, in the process some things were sacrificed like the Sinister Six movie that Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods) was developing. I was more excited about that project than anything else Sony was working on before Marvel came into the picture.

In a recent interview with io9, Goddard opened up about his original vision of the film, explaining that it would have been standalone Spider-Man movie set in the world of The Amazing Spider-Man, and it would have featured the return of Andrew Garfield as the web-slinger. Continue reading

After the first Avengers movie was released, there was an an article that broke down how much time each of the superheroes got to spend on screen over the course of the movie. Vulture has released a new breakdown for Avengers: Age of Ultron, and it includes all of the new team members. It’s always interesting to see how much time each character got to spend on screen because it seems much longer while you are watching the movie. Continue reading

Now, The Wall Street Journal reports that Spidey’s debut feature in the MCU will be none other than Captain America: Civil War, set for release on May 6, 2016. Continue reading

Sony Pictures Teases SINISTER SIX Film

It’s been a mess over at Sony Pictures for the last few months, and know one knows exactly what the hell they plan on doing with their Spider-Man franchise. The future of the superhero is up in the air, but it looks like they still plan on moving forward with that Sinister Six spin-off film, which is being developed by Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods). The studio recently posted this image teasing Sinister Six on their official International Facebook page:

The English translation of the text in the image (thanks to ComicBook.com) is, “We have plans for you … #Spider-Man.” I’m not sure why they would post this if they weren’t still planning on making the movie. Last year, Sony gave Sinister Six a release date of November 11th, 2016. I wonder if they still plan on trying to get the movie done by then.

I’m a fan of Goddard’s work, and I’d like to think that he could pull off an awesome Sinister Six film. It really could be good if the studio executives don’t try to screw it up with their terrible ideas of what they think a good super villain movie should be.

The Vulture and Doctor Octopus are the only two characters represented in the image, and as you know they were also teased at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which also included Electro, Rhino, and the Goblin. Now, I assume since they “have plans” for Spider-Man, that the web-slinger will also be in the movie. As I’ve said before, it would be hard to make a movie with a bunch of Spider-Man villains without Spider-Man. It’s just not sounding like Andrew Garfield will be involved this time around.

I do have another theory about what this might mean. Maybe this is for the previously announced Amazing Spider-Man 3, and instead of crowding a movie with six villains, they are only going to focus on Vulture and Doc Ock as the main antagonists. That kind of contradicts everything that we’ve heard surrounding the superhero up until this point, though.

What are your thoughts on what the image means?  Honestly  with all the stuff going down with sony and  spider-man unofficially  joining the  mcu project  i thought this movie was scrapped!
