Hot Toys Deadshot Sixth Scale Figure

DC Comics’ upcoming blockbuster, Suicide Squad, will finally hit theaters around the globe and will show how a secret government agency recruits imprisoned super-villains to execute dangerous black ops missions and save the world from an unknown but powerful threat in exchange for clemency. One of the highlights of the film is the widely popular and talented Will Smith taking on the role of Deadshot and today Sideshow and Hot Toys are pleased to officially present the sixth scale collectible figure of “Human Arsenal” Deadshot!

The movie-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on Will Smith’s image as Deadshot in the film and features a newly developed head sculpt, interchangeable masked head with aiming device, meticulously tailored armored costume, a selection of weapons including machine gun, pistols, dagger, and forearm-mounted guns, and a specially designed Suicide Squad themed figure stand with character backdrop. Will Smith & I Have One Thing In Common – We Both Want To Play Batman!

MTV News caught up with Will Smith at the MTV Movie Awards (a feat that shouldn’t have been too difficult, considering, you know, they were hosting it), and they asked the erstwhile Fresh Prince if he was looking forward to reprising his Suicide Squad role of Deadshot in either a solo movie or a Batman movie, and Smith had an interesting answer: he said he wanted Deadshot to actually become Batman. ‘Suicide Squad 2’ Shoots in 2017, Will Smith & Director David Ayer Returning?

‘Suicide Squad 2’ Shoots in 2017, Will Smith & Director David Ayer Returning?

Suicide Squad 2 is already in pre-production. And it will start shooting in 2017. At least, that’s the word coming from sources close to Warner Bros. and DC. Apparently, the studio is so happy with the advanced cut of Suicide Squad, which hits theaters in August, that they are wasting no time in getting the sequel in motion. Continue reading

The Suicide Squad trailer has arrived!

The Suicide Squad Trailer is Here!

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first Suicide Squad trailer, following its debut on the DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League special on The CW. Check out the Suicide Squad trailer in the player below!

Expertly edited to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” director David Ayer’s love letter to the bad guys looks like a whole lot of fun. We’re wondering, though, how serious does this movie take these characters? The Queen makes it seem like “Not so much” which is the exact opposite of the tone we got from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which takes place in this same world.

Will Smith Talks Steven Hiller’s Fate Before Independence Day: Resurgence

id4 will smith ehader

Even though we’ve known Will Smith bowed out of the sequel for a while now, when 20th Century Fox revealed the first trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence, many fans who don’t read the trades were probably wondering where the star was. Later, a viral website detailing the alternate history of the Earth in the wake of the first film revealed Smith’s character, Steven Hiller, had perished between the two films. Although director Roland Emmerich had previously blamed everything from Smith’s asking price to his overwhelming star power to his reluctance to return to sci-fi due to After Earth bombing, the Fresh Prince has now gone on record to Yahoo! on why he doesn’t appear and how he feels about the fate of his character. MEN IN BLACK Being Rebooted as a New Trilogy

Men in Black is a trilogy that probably should have just ended after the original movie. The third film was better than the second one, but still — it didn’t seem like the filmmakers really had much to say after the first movie, which was more of a star vehicle for Will Smith and a showcase for what, at the time, were pretty impressive special effects.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, MIB producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald confirmed that not only is there a reboot in the works, but there are bigger plans for the franchise to continue on:

You produced Men in Black. Has there been talk of reviving that franchise with the new Sony regime?

PARKES: We’re in the middle of it. It’s very active.

Is Will Smith going to be part of it?

PARKES: Most likely no.

MACDONALD: It will be reinvented as a trilogy.

THR failed to ask them whether this newly reinvented trilogy would be the potential crossover with the 21 Jump Street movies, but I’m sure Sony wouldn’t think twice about linking both of those franchises together if it meant they could make money on three more films. Alone, Men in Black and Jump Street sequels probably wouldn’t do that well (the current narratives of both have been played out), but combined, curiosity might be enough to get people to come see what the heck a crossover between them would look like. If development is indeed “very active,” we should probably be hearing something about this in an official capacity from Sony soon.

‘Bad Boys 3’, and a Fourth Is On the Way!

The streets have been clamoring for a Bad Boys threequel for a decade now, ever since Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, and Michael Bay colluded to make one of the best action films of all time (Bad Boys 2, of course). As Michael Bay moved on to robots, Will fell back, and Martin fell off, it began to seem like a pipe dream. But now, not only is Bad Boys 3 really, truly happening, there’s also a fourth right behind it. Long live Hollywood’s franchise thirst. First an ensemble film and now yet another sequel, Will sure is taking strides to get out of his career rut, isn’t he?

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but there is one thing casting a cloud over this otherwise exciting news, though: Michael Bay’s relative non-involvement. Say what you will, but when the man is at his best he makes things explode like no other. It’s not hyperbole to count him equal to Will and Martin as a key factor in what makes the first two films macho-action classics. Joe Carnahan (Narc, Smokin Aces, The Grey) is already attached to direct BB3. Hopefully he’ll do a fine job honoring the magic that came before him. But please, for the love of sun-soaked, high-octane shootout climaxes, let the Hollywood stars align to bring Bay back for 4. Fingers crossed. Anyway, if Sony’s dates stick, expect Bad Boys 3 February 2017 and Bad Boys 4 July 2019.

Jake Gyllenhaal Passes on SUICIDE SQUAD

jake-gyllenhaal-passes-on-suicide-squad

After Tom Hardy dropped out of Suicide Squad, Warner Bros. went after Jake Gyllenhaal and offered him the role of Rick Flagg. Gyllenhaal would have been great in the role, especially after he beefed up for his upcoming boxing film Southpaw. We won’t be seeing Gyllenhaal in the movie, though. According to Variety, the actor passed on the offer. I’m sure the studio was prepared for this and has a list of actors they would like to bring on.

I actually thought that Gyllenhaal would take the part as he already has a working relationship with director David Ayer. The two worked together on the incredible police drama End of Watch. There was no reason given as to why he passed, but production starts in April, so there’s still plenty of time to find an actor to take on the role of Rick Flagg.

The movie still has a lot of star power behind it, including Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jared Leto (The Joker), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress). They obviously want another big A-list star to play Flagg,

So with 2 big names out for the  same  role  who would you like to see as flagg?

Suicide Squad is set to bow August 5th, 2016.
