DC Comics Announces: Justice League Vs. Suicide Squad

It’s not just Marvel getting in on the ‘superteams duking it out’ stuff lately—DC is joining in on the fun with a newly announced event that is setting two of their current most popular teams, the Justice League and the Suicide Squad, at each other’s throats.

Revealed through Wall Street Journal, the event series—written by Joshua Williamson, with art from Jason Fabok—will see Batman decide once and for all that Waller’s Task Force X must be shut down permanently (presumably President Obama agrees with him?), calling in his Justice League allies to bring them in. DC Comics’ upcoming blockbuster, Suicide Squad, will finally hit theaters around the globe and will show how a secret government agency recruits imprisoned super-villains to execute dangerous black ops missions and save the world from an unknown but powerful threat in exchange for clemency. One of the highlights of the film is the widely popular and talented Will Smith taking on the role of Deadshot and today Sideshow and Hot Toys are pleased to officially present the sixth scale collectible figure of “Human Arsenal” Deadshot!

Will Smith & I Have One Thing In Common – We Both Want To Play Batman!

MTV News caught up with Will Smith at the MTV Movie Awards (a feat that shouldn’t have been too difficult, considering, you know, they were hosting it), and they asked the erstwhile Fresh Prince if he was looking forward to reprising his Suicide Squad role of Deadshot in either a solo movie or a Batman movie, and Smith had an interesting answer: he said he wanted Deadshot to actually become Batman. Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first Suicide Squad trailer, following its debut on the DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League special on The CW. Check out the Suicide Squad trailer in the player below!

Expertly edited to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” director David Ayer’s love letter to the bad guys looks like a whole lot of fun. We’re wondering, though, how serious does this movie take these characters? The Queen makes it seem like “Not so much” which is the exact opposite of the tone we got from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which takes place in this same world.

Jake Gyllenhaal Passes on SUICIDE SQUAD

After Tom Hardy dropped out of Suicide Squad, Warner Bros. went after Jake Gyllenhaal and offered him the role of Rick Flagg. Gyllenhaal would have been great in the role, especially after he beefed up for his upcoming boxing film Southpaw. We won’t be seeing Gyllenhaal in the movie, though. According to Variety, the actor passed on the offer. I’m sure the studio was prepared for this and has a list of actors they would like to bring on.

I actually thought that Gyllenhaal would take the part as he already has a working relationship with director David Ayer. The two worked together on the incredible police drama End of Watch. There was no reason given as to why he passed, but production starts in April, so there’s still plenty of time to find an actor to take on the role of Rick Flagg.

The movie still has a lot of star power behind it, including Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jared Leto (The Joker), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress). They obviously want another big A-list star to play Flagg,

So with 2 big names out for the  same  role  who would you like to see as flagg?
