Men in Black 4 Producers Promise a “Prominent” Woman in Black

Women can finally be Ghostbusters, so why not alien-zappers?

It’s 2015, people! That means women can be Ghostbusters, superheroes, and major Star Wars heroines in movies. The next cinematic franchise to get a healthy shot of feminism, it seems, will be Men in Black as its producer promises to give audiences a “Woman in Black” in the fourth film. Continue reading

Tom Cruise In Talks To Lead THE MUMMY Reboot

A few years ago, Tom Cruise was attached to produce and star in a Van Helsing reboot from Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. That project ultimately ended up never happening, and while Kurtzman and Orci have since parted ways, Kurtzman is now one of the minds behind reimagining Universal’s monster movies into a new connected cinematic universe. First up on that slate is a reboot of The Mummy, which Kurtzman is going to direct himself, and now, according to Variety, Tom Cruise is in talks to play the lead role in that film. Continue reading

Kevin Bacon Will Reprise His TREMORS Role in New TV Series

Kevin Bacon has mentioned a few times recently that he’d be interested in reprising his role in Tremors in some capacity, and considering the relatively recent trend of turning movies into TV shows, it’s not too surprising to read EW’s report that says Bacon will be doing just that. Continue reading

Why Marvel Has Been Purposefully Withholding IRON FIST

When Marvel and Netflix failed to announce, well, just about anything about Iron Fist, the fourth show in its lineup that began with Daredevil and leads up to the superhero team-up mini-series The Defenders, the internet began to wonder about the show’s prospects. Reports started showing up about how the company didn’t know what to do with the character, and then how they were reportedly going to turn Iron Fist into a movie and give Jon Bernthal’s Punisher his own spin-off show to take Iron Fist’s place on the roster. While we still aren’t 100% sure whether those were legitimate conversations happening within Marvel’s TV department, the company is now saying that the reason we haven’t  Continue reading

Neill Blomkamp’s Abandoned ‘Aliens’ Sequel Would’ve Starred Newt as the New Ripley

Matt Singer wrote an article all about the “Legacyquel” phenomenon where “beloved aging stars reprise classic roles and pass the torch to younger successors.” Recent examples include Creed, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and X-Men: Days of Future Past. One film that almost got added to that list is the now-defunct Aliens sequel where director Neill Blomkamp’s proposed follow-up would’ve had Sigourney Weaver returning co-star alongside a now-grown Newt, who would be the franchise’s new action hero. JESSICA JONES Talks About a Possible Season 2 and THE DEFENDERS

The first season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones dropped on Netflix late last week, and many fans have already torn through every episode. There has been a ton of positive responses to it so far, with many saying it’s an even better show than Daredevil. Mike Colter’s Luke Cage shows up in the series and plants the seeds for his own series, and I suspect Krysten Ritter’s Jessica will at least make an appearance in his solo show, but will we see a second season of Jessica Jones before the eventual team-up series The Defenders? Paramount Setting up the Future of G.I. JOE and MICRONAUTS Franchises

Not long ago, Paramount Pictures took a page from the TV production playbook and created a writers room to generate ideas for the future of the Transformers franchise. Batman & Robin and A Beautiful Mind writer Akiva Goldsman led the group, and the result of the studio’s efforts was coming up with at least five viable ideas for upcoming movies. It looks like Paramount liked how the writers room idea turned out, because they’ve hired Goldsman to oversee new rooms for G.I. Joe and Micronauts, two more Hasbro properties the studio is hoping will make big money for them down the line. Continue reading

The 10 Lamest G.I. Joe Characters ever

10-lammest-gi-joe-characters-social.jpg

With so many  G.I. Joe characters created over the years there were bound to be a few useless duds that would be left behind in a battle against Cobra or any other terrorist organization. I love G.I. Joe, I grew up with this franchise, but I’ve got to say, some of the G.I. Joe members that Hasbro came up with are pretty ridiculous. Here are ten characters that really have no business being G.I. Joes. These characters are so lame it was hard to find decent pictures of them.
