It looks like early on in the development process of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the filmmakers were considering and appearance by Anakin Skywalker’s force ghost. The possibility was real enough to have some concept art created for the character. As part of Entertainment Weekly’s upcoming “First Look” issue, they’re releasing bits and pieces from their Doctor Strange preview early. After revealing the cover, with Cumberbatch in full Strange mode, they’ve released a handful of more photos and concept art from the film, as well.
The photos show a full spell-casting Doctor (as seen above), which Cumberbatch said he was amazed by.
“These gestures are ways of creating the magic,” the actor said of Strange’s signature hand and arm gestures. “It’s a beautiful thing, it’s balletic, it’s very dynamic.” Continue reading
In July of 2013, Jeff Wadlow, the writer and director of Kick-Ass 2 (2013), was hired by 20th Century Fox to pen the screenplay for an X-Force movie, which he would possibly helm as well.Over the past two years, Wadlow has stated that his team would be a five-member lineup. He never confirmed which characters it would consist of, though, he did say he was a fan of Deadpool, Wolverine, Cable, Psylocke, Domino and Colossus.In that same span, X-Force creator Rob Liefeld praised the script numerous times, calling it “beyond impressive” and revealing that the best part is that it shows the “camaraderie between the team as they learn to cope and trust one another!” Liefeld also divulged that Cable and Deadpool were in it. After all these years of knowing that an Avatar sequel was on the way, director James Cameron has yet to shoot it. He’s basically been preparing the film for production this whole time. In that time, the anticipation for any kind of Avatar sequel has waned to the point of almost being non-existant.
While talking to the Montreal Gazette, Cameron confirmed when the movie will be released, when he plans to start shooting it, and what he’s accomplished in the last two years of development. Continue reading
