How The X-Force Team Was Handled in DEADPOOL 2

One of the things I was looking forward to seeing most in Deadpool 2 was the X-Force team in action! We got to see a little action from all of them in the trailers, but if you saw the movie, you know that things did play out the way we thought they would. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, I get into some spoiler territory as the director and writers of the film discuss how they handled these characters.

With the potential merger of Disney and 20th Century Fox lingering in the background, many fans have wondered what the studio will be doing with their Marvel properties before their potential return to the House of Ideas. The Hollywood Reporter has several revelations in a new report that indicates that not only is the studio not slowing down on their Marvel properties, but they’re developing more projects now than they ever have in the past.

Bryan Singer Has Pitched X-23 to Fox to Be the New Wolverine

It was previously rumored that X-23 might join Logan in director James Mangold’s Wolverine 3. With Hugh Jackman hanging up his claws after this movie, it would make sense to see a Wolverine replacement, and if that happened, Marvel’s new female Wolverine, Laura Kinney, who was previously known as X-23, would be the perfect choice.

Well, it turns out that Bryan Singer actually already pitched the new female Wolverine to Fox. Continue reading

Simon Kinberg Says X-FORCE Movie Could Be Rated R

In the wake of Deadpool‘s massive box office success, it shouldn’t be too long until we hear about an X-Force movie officially getting the green light and moving into production at 20th Century Fox. Kick-Ass 2 director Jeff Wadlow wrote a script a couple of years ago, and was supposed to be directing the live-action feature, but that never ended up happening. But Ryan Reynolds has spoken about X-Force as “a priority,” and considering how much money Deadpool made this past weekend, I’d guess Fox will push that plan through fairly quickly. Continue reading

X-Force Movie Lineup Possibly Revealed

xforcemovieIn July of 2013, Jeff Wadlow, the writer and director of Kick-Ass 2 (2013), was hired by 20th Century Fox to pen the screenplay for an X-Force movie, which he would possibly helm as well.Over the past two years, Wadlow has stated that his team would be a five-member lineup. He never confirmed which characters it would consist of, though, he did say he was a fan of Deadpool, Wolverine, Cable, Psylocke, Domino and Colossus. In that same span, X-Force creator Rob Liefeld praised the script numerous times, calling it “beyond impressive” and revealing that the best part is that it shows the “camaraderie between the team as they learn to cope and trust one another!” Liefeld also divulged that Cable and Deadpool were in it. However, the latter does not appear in the artwork seen below. Continue reading
