After a lot of rumors and speculations since the second season finale of “The Flash”, Grant Gustin has confirmed that season three will launch with one of the character’s most popular storylines: “Flashpoint”. The end of the season two finale pretty much set it up, so it’s great to see that the team behind the series is moving forward with it.
Gustin revealed that he had read the script for the season three premiere, and then with the permission of writer and executive producer Greg Berlanti he said that the title of the episode was “Flashpoint” and he’s not messing around! Superman will make his first real appearance on “Supergirl” next season. Variety reports that casting is currently underway for Clark Kent, who’ll appear in the first two episodes of the series’ second season this fall. The announcement paves the way to the first new live-action portrayal of the Man of Steel on TV since “Smallville” ended in 2011.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg expressed excitement about the prospect of having Superman on the show, speaking also for fellow producers Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler. “Greg, Ali and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl,” he said. “Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!” Continue reading
