tie

Watch this. Now. TIE Fighter is a short animation by Paul Johnson that shows a bit of Star Wars from the perspective of the Empire. It’s done in the style of anime from the 80’s and shows an aerial fight scene between TIE fighters and X-wings and is pretty much so awesome that Disney should make this an entire movie. General Zod (Superman) Vs Khan Noonien Singh (Star Trek)

vsheader

We have added a new segment to our little show that we like to call dimly enough! Versus! We take pop culture irons and pit them against one another!  Weather its a full out death match, race, strategic, piloting skills, battle of the wits or  even skill set.  We will take it to the  max!

For our very first versus piece will will have 2 intergalactic bad guys go against one another!

General Zod (superman)

general_zod_by_rehsup-d67ka55General Dru-Zod is a general in the Kryptonian Army. However, Zod had ambitions to take over the planet Krypton and had little respect for the Kryptonian Council, and as such was banished to the Phantom Zone. For this reason he survived the planet's destruction.

Having served his term, he currently serves once more in New Krypton's military, of which he is the head.

Zod is a frequent enemy of Superman and of the people of Earth, as, prior to the rebuilding of New Krypton, Zod tried to take over the Earth. Zod's two allies, known occasionally as the Disciples of Zod, serve him unquestioningly. Their names have changed many times over the years, but they are currently known as Ursa and Non.

There have also been other versions of Zod over the years; some of which from alternate worlds, or false versions of Krypton; Others have more mysterious origins. All of them, however, posess Zod's cold, merciless determination.

Khan Noonien Singh (Star Trek)

BenedictCumberbacthStarTrekIntoDarkness1_0Khan Noonien Singh, commonly shortened to Khan, is a fictional villain in the Star Trek science fiction franchise. The character first appeared in the Star Trek: The Original Series episode "Space Seed" (1967), and was portrayed by Ricardo Montalbán who reprised his role in the 1982 film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. In the 2013 film Star Trek Into Darkness, he is played by Benedict Cumberbatch. The character once controlled more than a quarter of the Earth during the Eugenics Wars of the 1990s. After being revived from suspended animation in 2267 by the crew of the USS Enterprise, Khan attempts to capture the starship, but is thwarted by James T. Kirk and exiled on Ceti Alpha V to create a new society with his people. In Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, set fifteen years after "Space Seed", Khan escapes his exile and sets out to exact revenge upon Kirk.

Harve Bennett, executive producer for Star Trek II, chose Khan as the villain for the film. To reflect the time spent marooned on an inhospitable world, Khan was given a costume that looked as though it had been scavenged from different items and showed off Montalbán's physique. Montalbán's portrayal has been positively received by critics and fans; Khan was voted one of the ten greatest film villains by the Online Film Critics Society.

In Star Trek Into Darkness, set in the alternate continuity established in Star Trek (2009), Khan is awakened almost a decade before the events of "Space Seed." Khan is given the false identity "John Harrison" and coerced by Admiral Marcus into building weapons for Starfleet in exchange for the lives of Khan's crew. He ultimately rebels and comes into conflict with the crew of the Enterprise.

With all that said who would you like to see win this intergalactic battle of  evil! Or do you think they would cross each other out!

Russo Brothers to Direct ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Parts 1 and 2

Joe and Anthony Russo - H 2015

Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and will return for Captain America: Civil War, are cementing themselves as Marvel’s main movie executors.

The brothers will direct both parts of the studio’s Avengers: Infinity War, taking over the billion-dollar franchise from Joss Whedon, who directed the first two Avengers films. (The second one, Avengers: Age of Ultron, opens May 1.) They’ll film Infinity War in one long shoot beginning sometime in 2016, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

No writers are attached, but the brothers will likely reunite with Winter Soldier’s Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. They collaborated on Civil War, which the Russos will begin shooting next month.

The new deal raises the question of the status of the Russos’ deal with Sony. The duo signed a three-year first-look deal with the Culver City-based studio in March. Working on an Avengers movie is an all-consuming endeavor, so how active they will be within that deal remains to be seen.

Civil War, for which the brothers are in preproduction and which is considered to be a mini Avengers movie due to the large cast of heroes, has a May 6, 2016, release date. Infinity War — Part 1 and Infinity War — Part 2 are slated to be released May 4, 2018, and May 3, 2019, respectively.

The Infinity get is a massive feather in the duo’s cap and marks the latest in an incredible career trajectory. The Russos began in television comedy, directing episodes of Arrested Development in the early to mid-2000s, and continued to work in the field in 2012 with Happy Endings and Up All Night. It was their work on some of the geeky episodes of Community, however, that led to Winter Soldier — a movie that grossed $717.7 million worldwide.

Mateus Ward Reportedly Testing For Spider-Man

spiderman1

Supposedly Marvel secretly met with 16-year-old actor Mateus Ward about playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man, according to Badass Digest.

Ward, who is best known for his roles in Showtime’s Weeds and CBS’ Hostages, reportedly auditioned for the part at a house because Marvel wanted to keep it under the radar. Keep in mind, this comes from a new source for Badass Digest, so they’re not even sure how reliable the source the information is. It does back up earlier claims that Marvel is looking to cast a much younger actor for the part than they have in the past.

Next Spider-Man film will arrive July 28, 2017. Rumor has it that Drew Goddard (“Cabin In The Woods”) will direct and it will be titled The Spectacular Spider-Man.

Here is why the comics world is fighting over a Batgirl cover

On Tuesday, DC Entertainment announced that it would be pulling a variant cover for this June’s Batgirl #41. In a statement released to Comic Book Resources, DC made it clear that the cover was being recalled at the artist’s request after a significant number of fans spoke out against it.

Good for DC. Case closed. Right? After all, a big comic book company is listening to its fans! Continue reading
