Deadpool did a sly job of helping set up the X-Men spinoff New Mutants. It introduced Negasonic Teenage Warhead as part of the team, and gave us a look at their uniforms without ever mentioning the Marvel outfit by name. The upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse is aiming to be both a closing chapter and a new start for the classic Marvel characters on the big screen. Though planned as the conclusion of the “First Class” trilogy, the film will also introduce younger versions of previously-seen characters and seemingly pave the road for a new batch of “X-Men” movies to follow.
