In the upcoming issue of Total Film magazine, Dwayne Johnson discusses the character that he will be playing in Warner Bros. Shazam! movie, Black Adam. He also confirms that all of the DC films that the studio plans on making will have a shared universe. There’s apparently been some debate about whether or not that would be the case, and Johnson basically clears it all up. Continue reading

Jason Momoa Talks Aquaman and Superhero Diversity

Although we’ve only seen Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel when it comes to confirmed chapters in DC Comics’ currently-brewing cinematic universe, plans for the future are looking quite ambitious. THE FLASH Will Be “Diving Deep” Into Time Travel
We’ve seen from episode one of The Flash that time travel will be a huge part of the overall story. Those familiar with Barry Allen’s story from the comics have been very happy to see that that element is part of the show. While talking to THR, Grant Gustin (The Flash) shared what we might see toward the end of a very solid first season.
“We are diving deep into the time-travel element and it is going to be wild.”
Tom Cavanagh (Dr. Wells) adds,
“It’s ultimately why I signed on to this job. Not to play a scientist, but to play a time-traveling bandit. In comic books, when you start talking about time travel — if anybody has followed The Flash, then they know Reverse-Flash and The Flash are not just doing this right now in the present day. They have a long history and there’s nothing that we’re not going to pursue when we try to tell the story. We’re trying to tell all of it.”
Gustin concludes with,
“I think it would be fun if it totally changed the show for season two.”
Time travel and the butterfly effect have been shown to have a huge ripple effect in the Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox animated movie storyline. Flipping the whole show upside down to pull in elements of that story would be crazy and fun to see.
INSIDE THE NBA teams up with Justice League in DC COMICS Promotion
TNT’s Inside the NBA crew of Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal are essentially the sports TV version of the Superfriends. So it seems appropriate for those guys to team up with DC Comics’ Justice League in a promotional comic book for NBA All-Star weekend.
The Justice League Goes Inside the NBA All Star 2015 is available for free in comic book stores throughout New York City. But fans can also read the comic in a digital format at Bleacher Report and NBA.com. The Hollywood Reporter also had an early look at the entire 16-page story. Continue reading
Jake Gyllenhaal Passes on SUICIDE SQUAD
After Tom Hardy dropped out of Suicide Squad, Warner Bros. went after Jake Gyllenhaal and offered him the role of Rick Flagg. Gyllenhaal would have been great in the role, especially after he beefed up for his upcoming boxing film Southpaw. We won’t be seeing Gyllenhaal in the movie, though. According to Variety, the actor passed on the offer. I’m sure the studio was prepared for this and has a list of actors they would like to bring on.
I actually thought that Gyllenhaal would take the part as he already has a working relationship with director David Ayer. The two worked together on the incredible police drama End of Watch. There was no reason given as to why he passed, but production starts in April, so there’s still plenty of time to find an actor to take on the role of Rick Flagg.
The movie still has a lot of star power behind it, including Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jared Leto (The Joker), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress). They obviously want another big A-list star to play Flagg,
So with 2 big names out for the same role who would you like to see as flagg?
Suicide Squad is set to bow August 5th, 2016.
