As Expected, A New JUMANJI Sequel is Moving Forward at Sony Pictures

Dwayne Johnson‘s Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle was a surprisingly good movie and it made a killing at the box office with over $857 million worldwide. I thought the film was a ton of fun and it’s not surprising to learn that Sony Pictures is moving forward on the development of a sequel.

According to Deadline, the studio is in talks to hire Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner to write the sequel. The wrote the script for Welcome To The Jungle as well as the upcoming Venom movie.

The film will reunite the cast from the last film, which will include Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan and the rest of the ensemble. There’s no information on what the story will entail, but I’m sure it will be just as entertaining as the last film.

Shane Black (Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys) has wanted to make a movie based on the pulp hero Doc Savage for a long time, and it sounds like he’ll finally start rolling on that sometime next year. At one point Chris Hemsworth was being eyed for the title role — a physician, surgeon, scientist, adventurer, inventor, explorer, researcher, and musician all in one, not unlike Buckaroo Banzai — but in recent months, Black has talked about how he now has his sights set on Dwayne Johnson as his potential star.

Ever since Baywatch started moving forward with star Dwayne Johnson, there were rumors that roles had been written for the two stars of the original TV series, David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. Dwayne Johnson Confirms 2016 Shooting Schedule and Rampage Writers.

In a new Instagram post, Dwayne Johnson has come back to New Line Cinema for the adaptation of classic Midway arcade game, Rampage. And it looks like it’ll be a full-on San Andreas reunion with that film’s writer Carlton Cuse (as well as his “Colony” co-creator Ryan Condal) to re-team with that film’s director Brad Peyton and producer Beau Flynn. Non-Stop screenwriter Ryan Engle wrote the previous draft of the screenplay, the story for which is said to be “under wraps,” though it will involve the game’s three original beasties going three-on-one with the Great One. Dwayne Johnson to lead Big Trouble in Little China remake

It’s okay, Kurt Russell. Getting replaced by The Rock isn’t a dishonor by any stretch of the imagination—especially after San Andreas raked in almost $115 million worldwide for his best opening weekend ever. Dwayne Johnson is currently in talks to star in and produce a remake of the John Carpenter classic, Big Trouble in Little China, EW has confirmed. Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, who wrote the sleek X-Men: First Class, are attached to pen the script. The Wrap first reported the development.

Naturally, Johnson would play Jack Burton, a trucker lured into the seedy, magical underworld in San Francisco’s Chinatown. The original, which starred Russell and Kim Cattrall, grossed a meek $11 million at the box office, but has become retroactively beloved.
