10 Movies You Might Not Realize Have a Post Credits Scene

Marvel Studios popularized the idea of the post credits scene, but did you know that Lethal Weapon 3 also has one? Or Zombieland? Or The Grey? I certainly didn’t. ScreenRant is back with another movie-based list video, this one taking aim at movies you might not realize have post credits sequences. I knew about a few of these, but there were enough surprises here to make this worth watching.

James Cameron Hires Robert Rodriguez to Direct ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL

James Cameron has been wanting to get his big screen live action adaptation of Alita: Battle Angel off the ground for a very, very long time. Then he started work on all those Avatar sequels which have him tied up over the next several years. He’s obviously not going to have the opportunity to direct Alita: Battle Angel anytime soon, so he and his producing partner Jon Landau are going to hire someone else to do it. thor-ragnarok-is-reportedly-marvel-darkest-story-yet-and-more-characters-revealed

We just learned  that Bruce Banner/Hulk might appear in Thor: Ragnarok. Now we have some additional information about the tone and another character that might appear in it.

We know Thor: Ragnarok would be a dark film. After all, the comic book story arc features an apocalyptic battle that the Realm of Asgard has experienced over and over and over again. Ragnarok is a cycle of death and rebirth.

The sequel is being written by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle, and according to Birth.Movies.Death., the script is the darkest one yet for Marvel, which apparently is one of the reasons why they brought on Taika Waititi to direct it. The site says that the studio felt he could “bring a touch of lightness” to the film. Continue reading

During a recent Q&A that director James Gunn held on Facebook, he offered some updates regarding Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. There’s nothing major revealed, but he did tease a few things. The director confirmed that casting on the film is almost complete and that they will shoot the film for 10 months in Atlanta starting in February 2016.

When asked about the characters who will be introduced in the film, he revealed that there will be at least one new character:

“I’m not going to give names and I won’t give numbers either, but there will be at least one new character in Guardians of the Galaxy.”

As for Adam Warlock’s involvement in Guardians of the Galaxy and whether or not the character could play a part in Avengers: Infinity War, he said:

“You guys gotta wait and see… Everything’s going to be different in the ‘Infinity Wars.’ I’m a lot more concerned with ‘Vol. 2’ than I am with ‘Infinity Wars.’ The way the movie [’Vol. 2’] is structured and made – it really is a story unto itself. It’s not about leading up to anything else. It’s about the Guardians and their lives.”

Why The World Needs To See Batman In A Rated R Movie

Cinema has done a fine job presenting Batman in a way that is enjoyable for all audiences. West showed us the man with morals, Keaton showed us the hero, Kilmer showed us the bizarre, Clooney showed us everyone makes mistakes, and Bale showed us The Dark Knight in a real world. With each performance, a mainstream audience got a different feel for Batman, and each (well, most, anyway) succeeded in giving the world all sides of Batman…

…save one.

What happens when Batman doesn’t just “not save the day,” but allows for horrible things to happen? Sure, we saw Rachel Dawes blow up in The Dark Knight…but considering that was the work of The Joker, that was a fairly painless and quick death than what comic book readers have experienced. What happens when The Caped Crusader truly experiences something horrific? When his response is not to prevent, but rather to avenge? What happens when Batman breaks bad? Continue reading

Christopher Lloyd: I’d Do ‘Back to the Future: Part IV’

Christopher Lloyd

During an interview with THR on Wednesday, Lloyd says he’d sign on immediately if the whole gang — Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale, Michael J. Fox, Lea Thompson and Thomas F. Wilson — got back together for one more time-traveling adventure.

“I would love to do Doc again, no question,” Lloyd says.

The blockbuster franchise has experienced a cultural resurgence recently as October 21st, 2015 approaches. The date, dubbed Back to the Future Day, coincides with the exact date in Back to the Future: Part II where Marty travels to the future from 1985. A fourth installment in the series is unlikely, but fun to imagine for Lloyd, who turns 77 next week.

“It’s tough to come up with an idea that contains the excitement of the original three,” Lloyd says. “So it would be a real challenge for the writers to come up with an original Back to the Future story that has the same passion and intensity and excitement as the other three. But it could be done, you never know,” he adds with a chuckle. Continue reading
