Marvel’s Phase Three officially kicks off in a few weeks with Captain America: Civil War, but Marvel Studios already has their eyes on the finale with Avengers: Infinity War. The creative team of Civil War will be assembling the culminating event with directors Anthony and Joe Russo behind the camera, and a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The film will finally bring the MCU full circle, using The Avengers post-credit scene star Thanos (played by Josh Borlin) as the prime antagonist. Continue reading
When the Punisher first entered the world of Marvel Comics, in a 1974 issue of “The Amazing-Spider Man”, he was supposed to be called “Assassin.” The series’s writer, Gerry Conway, envisioned the character as a villain who would eventually become an antihero, but Marvel’s Stan Lee advised against the name, saying it could never be used for a good guy. Lee, at least as he told Alter Ego magazine in a 2005 interview, suggested “The Punisher” instead.
When the Marvel Cinematic Universe becomes divided over the rising concern of collateral damage caused by the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War, fans will finally witness the epic showdown between Captain America and Iron Man where the two heroes hold different views on the system of accountability to oversee the Avengers.
