This week has been filled with new Suicide Squad photos and movie details thanks to the new issue of Empire Magazine. Some of those things include Jared Leto talking about the Joker, Cara Delevingne talking about Enchantress, and talk of a villainous love triangle. We previously posted some scanned images from the magazine, but some of those have been officially released along with some new images that include a behind-the-scenes shot of Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. David Ayer’s Suicide Squad opens in theaters on August 5th, 2016. Common Will Face Off Against Keanu Reeves as Villain of JOHN WICK 2

John Wick 2 has just found its big bad.

According to THR, actor/rapper (and recent Oscar-winner) Common is set to play the film’s “chief villain, a head of security for a female crime lord.” That raises some interesting questions (namely, who is this female crime lord and which actress will ultimately play her?), but any more information is frustratingly hard to come by at this point. With production set to begin this week, we’ll hopefully know more soon. Reeves had some intriguing things to say about the sequel recently, but didn’t offer many concrete details about the movie’s plot.

The original John Wick was co-directed by David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, but the sequel will only be helmed by Stahelski. Star Keanu Reeves is coming back (“yeah, I’m thinkin’ [he’s] back”) to reprise the title role of an assassin who dove back into the underworld to get revenge on a gangster’s son who murdered his dog. Meanwhile, Common will play a mysterious role in Warner Bros.’ upcoming Suicide Squad film next summer.

Indiana Jones 5: No Intention To Recast Indy, Says Producer Frank Marshall

Fear not, Indiana Jones devotees — everyone’s favorite rogue archaeologist isn’t being recast anytime soon. Recently, Total Film interviewed long-time Indiana Jones producer Frank Marshall, who put some rather rampant rumors to rest about what fans are tentatively calling Indiana Jones 5.

Rumors surrounding the possible fifth installment to the franchise kicked off almost as soon as the fourth, which starred Harrison Ford and Shia LeBouf, hit theaters. Now, Marshall shuts them down: Continue reading

Dan Borth is Trying to Bring Darth Maul Game Back!

Over the weekend Dan Borth from Red Fly Studio did an AMA (ask me anything) on the Gaming Sub-Reddit. The whole interview was to answer questions about the canceled Darth Maul game that was being developed before the closure of LucasArts. He stated that he and his team were working on an unofficial prototype to take to the big wigs over at EA Games, as they are currently handling the Star Wars franchise for the next few years. It’d be awesome to see new life pumped into this game, as Darth Maul is one character everybody wants to hear more about. One of the greatest sins of the prequels was killing off Maul in The Phantom Menace as opposed to making him a lingering force throughout the whole trilogy. Continue reading

The new writer is Jonathan Herman, who wrote this year’s Straight Outta Compton, the film about hip hop group N.W.A. Like for Ghost in the Shell, Herman was brought in to do a rewrite on that film after it had been tackled by several other writers.

Hollywood Reporter also dropped a few hints about the plot of Ghost in the Shell, which is set to open March 31, 2017: Continue reading

THE MIGHTY THOR #1 – Preview

The_Mighty_Thor_1_Coipel_Variant.jpg
There are enemies lining up to take a shot at the new God of Thunder, and while they might think themselves a force to be reckoned with, Jane Foster isn’t really concerned with them. At the heart of this newest Thor is the battle going on in her own body as she struggles with the cancer attempting to take her mortal form. A premise like that is certainly compelling, and the team of Jason Aaron, Russell Dauterman, and Matt Wilson hope you feel the same way and stick around for the ride. I’ll at least be giving the book a try. Continue reading
