First Look at Transformers: Combiner Wars Series

Hasbro Inc. and Machinima co-hosted a panel during the Cannes Lions Festival offering Transformers fans a first glimpse of “Transformers: Combiner Wars”, a new animated series debuting August 2nd on social entertainment platform go90 in the US, AMC Networks International Iberia in Spain and Portugal and in other territories to be announced at a later date. Transformers: Combiner Wars, developed and produced by Machinima, marks the first time the iconic franchise has launched a digital-first series.

‘Spider-Man’ Animated Movie Logo Revealed

 

The big news out of Sony Pictures presentation at CinemaCon was the new Spider-Man Tom Holland taking the stage, where the official title Spider-Man: Homecoming was unveiled. However, that wasn’t the only Spidey news that came out of the convention, with the studio unveiling the official logo for their Untitled Animated Spider-Man Project, which is arriving in theaters sometime in 2018. Netflix releases trailer for “Voltron: Legendary Defender”

The First Voltron Trailer Forms a Legend

Netflix and DreamWorks Animation have revealed the first Voltron trailer, which you can watch in the player below. In the series, the five heroes get their own lion bots and become “the last line of defense for Arus and other planets against an evil alien force led by King Zarkon.”

“We’re trying to keep as much of that classic feel to it as we can, because ultimately we have huge amounts of nostalgia for (the original) show,” co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery told USA Today. Continue reading →

Disney Has Reacquired Rights For The Black Cauldron. Will they get it right the Second Time?

Variety says Disney has reacquired the rights to The Chronicles of Prydain, which were the original books by Lloyd Alexander that The Black Cauldron was a part of. Another little fun fact about this film: it was the first Disney movie to feature computer animation! Now, in what seems like either a massive act of hubris, or one of potential adaptational atonement, Disney has an eye on developing a new feature based on the author’s high fantasy world of noble swineherds, oracular pigs, and references to Welsh mythology.  Continue reading →
