The consensus is that even though Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman bombed, Ben Affleck received high marks in his portrayal of the Dark Knight. Fans are actually excited to see what he ends up doing with the solo film that he’s currently developing with Geoff Johns. MTV News caught up with Will Smith at the MTV Movie Awards (a feat that shouldn’t have been too difficult, considering, you know, they were hosting it), and they asked the erstwhile Fresh Prince if he was looking forward to reprising his Suicide Squad role of Deadshot in either a solo movie or a Batman movie, and Smith had an interesting answer: he said he wanted Deadshot to actually become Batman. Back when Warner Bros. revealed their full slate of DC Comics films, no release dates were given for stand alone Superman and Batman movies, both of which are being planned with the latter currently being written by Geoff Johns and Ben Affleck. The Man of Steel himself, Henry Cavill, has spoken about it previously, citing that allowing the rest of the DCEU to expand around him on film would allow for a better use of the character in the future.
