Terminally-Ill Star Wars Fan Gets Wish to See ‘The Force Awakens’

A terminally-ill Star Wars fan who wanted to watch the upcoming movie The Force Awakens before he dies has been allowed to watch an unfinished version of the film, his wife revealed Thursday.

“To all our wonderful supporters, friends, family and awesome strangers: Daniels final dream was just granted!!!” Ashley Fleetwood said in a message posted to Facebook.

Daniel Fleetwood, 32, of Spring, Texas, was diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma, a rare connective tissue cancer, two years ago, and on Sept. 2 his oncologist said he has two months to live, Ashley Fleetwood told NBC News this week. Continue reading →

Believe It or Not, Greatest American Hero Will Be Walking on Air Once Again

In the 80’s  super heroes really only existed in the comics books  but there was hope in this show!  The idea was an instant hit! and such an original idea! The classic ’80s TV hit The Greatest American Hero is apparently returning to television thanks to Fox, Deadline reports. In case you weren’t aware, the show focuses on a run of the mill teacher who inherits a super-powered red suit from aliens but loses the instructions on how to use it. He ends up discovering the powers built into the suit mostly through slapstick goofball trial and error. It’s (hopefully going to be) a nice, lighter side to the grimdark gritty superhero stuff we’ve been seeing a lot of lately.

Behind the revival are some names that you might recognize: Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the duo behind The LEGO Movie, are slated to produce, and Rick Famuyiwa, Dope director/writer, is set to write. Continue reading →

Mark Wahlberg’s ‘Six Billion Dollar Man’ Gets 2017 Release Date

Dimension Films has dated “The Six Billion Dollar Man” starring Mark Wahlberg for Dec 22, 2017.

“Wild Tales” helmer Damián Szifron wrote the screenplay and is going to direct.

Production is set to start September 2016. Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Bob Weinstein are producing the film.

“The Six Million Dollar Man” is based on the classic television series from the 1970s and the novel “Cyborg” by Martin Caidin. The story follows military officer Steve Austin, who becomes part of a top secret government program after a horrific accident leaves him near death. With the help of cutting edge technology, Steve is brought back to life with extraordinary abilities, making him the world’s first truly bionic man.

“I’m thrilled to assemble ‘The Six Billion Dollar Man’ for the big screen with the likes of Bob Weinstein and Damián Szifron,” said Wahlberg. “We look forward to creating a Steve Austin for the 21st century.”

Overseeing production for TWC-Dimension are Matthew Signer, EVP of Production and Creative Affairs, and Keith Levine, SVP of Production and Development.

“Writing the screenplay was such a fantastic ride and embarking on this journey with Mark, Bob and Stephen to take this story to a whole new level is simply spectacular,” said Szifron. “Growing up, these kind of films left an indelible mark on me and now it feels so good to be making one.”

Steven Spielberg Can’t Wait to Work With Harrison Ford Again on INDIANA JONES 5

We all know that Indiana Jones 5 is gong to happen one day. Disney plans on making it, Harrison Ford will be back to star in it, and director Steven Spielberg can’t wait to work with him again in the franchise.

Like many of you, I didn’t care for 2008’s The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and I’d like to think that it never happened. I believe there’s still room for another classic Indiana Jones adventure, and I hope this next one will be it. Continue reading →
