Believe It or Not, Greatest American Hero Will Be Walking on Air Once Again
In the 80’s super heroes really only existed in the comics books but there was hope in this show! The idea was an instant hit! and such an original idea! The classic ’80s TV hit The Greatest American Hero is apparently returning to television thanks to Fox, Deadline reports. In case you weren’t aware, the show focuses on a run of the mill teacher who inherits a super-powered red suit from aliens but loses the instructions on how to use it. He ends up discovering the powers built into the suit mostly through slapstick goofball trial and error. It’s (hopefully going to be) a nice, lighter side to the grimdark gritty superhero stuff we’ve been seeing a lot of lately.
Behind the revival are some names that you might recognize: Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the duo behind The LEGO Movie, are slated to produce, and Rick Famuyiwa, Dope director/writer, is set to write. Continue reading
Mark Wahlberg’s ‘Six Billion Dollar Man’ Gets 2017 Release Date
Dimension Films has dated “The Six Billion Dollar Man” starring Mark Wahlberg for Dec 22, 2017.
“Wild Tales” helmer Damián Szifron wrote the screenplay and is going to direct.
Production is set to start September 2016. Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Bob Weinstein are producing the film.
“The Six Million Dollar Man” is based on the classic television series from the 1970s and the novel “Cyborg” by Martin Caidin. The story follows military officer Steve Austin, who becomes part of a top secret government program after a horrific accident leaves him near death. With the help of cutting edge technology, Steve is brought back to life with extraordinary abilities, making him the world’s first truly bionic man.
“I’m thrilled to assemble ‘The Six Billion Dollar Man’ for the big screen with the likes of Bob Weinstein and Damián Szifron,” said Wahlberg. “We look forward to creating a Steve Austin for the 21st century.”
Overseeing production for TWC-Dimension are Matthew Signer, EVP of Production and Creative Affairs, and Keith Levine, SVP of Production and Development.
“Writing the screenplay was such a fantastic ride and embarking on this journey with Mark, Bob and Stephen to take this story to a whole new level is simply spectacular,” said Szifron. “Growing up, these kind of films left an indelible mark on me and now it feels so good to be making one.”
Steven Spielberg Can’t Wait to Work With Harrison Ford Again on INDIANA JONES 5
We all know that Indiana Jones 5 is gong to happen one day. Disney plans on making it, Harrison Ford will be back to star in it, and director Steven Spielberg can’t wait to work with him again in the franchise.
Like many of you, I didn’t care for 2008’s The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and I’d like to think that it never happened. I believe there’s still room for another classic Indiana Jones adventure, and I hope this next one will be it. Continue reading
Common Will Face Off Against Keanu Reeves as Villain of JOHN WICK 2
John Wick 2 has just found its big bad.
According to THR, actor/rapper (and recent Oscar-winner) Common is set to play the film’s “chief villain, a head of security for a female crime lord.” That raises some interesting questions (namely, who is this female crime lord and which actress will ultimately play her?), but any more information is frustratingly hard to come by at this point. With production set to begin this week, we’ll hopefully know more soon. Reeves had some intriguing things to say about the sequel recently, but didn’t offer many concrete details about the movie’s plot.
The original John Wick was co-directed by David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, but the sequel will only be helmed by Stahelski. Star Keanu Reeves is coming back (“yeah, I’m thinkin’ [he’s] back”) to reprise the title role of an assassin who dove back into the underworld to get revenge on a gangster’s son who murdered his dog. Meanwhile, Common will play a mysterious role in Warner Bros.’ upcoming Suicide Squad film next summer.

New Live-Action Ghost in the Shell Details Revealed
A new screenwriter has been brought in to do an overhaul on the live-action version of Ghost in the Shell, says the Hollywood Reporter.
The new writer is Jonathan Herman, who wrote this year’s Straight Outta Compton, the film about hip hop group N.W.A. Like for Ghost in the Shell, Herman was brought in to do a rewrite on that film after it had been tackled by several other writers.

DIE HARD 6 Will Be a Prequel and Sequel, Len Wiseman to Direct
20th Century Fox is moving forward with Die Hard 6, and they have some very interesting plans on how they want to approach it. Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura is working on developing the project with director Len Wiseman, who will most likely end up directing it. Wiseman helmed 2007’s Live Free or Die Hard, which wasn’t the best film in the franchise, but still managed to entertain.
The news comes from Deadline, which also offers up some details on the plot of the film. As of right now, the working title of the sequel is Die Hard: Year One, and it will give us an origin story of John McClane, which kind of weird because many consider Die Hard as John McClane’s origin story.
The film will be set in 1979, when McLane was fighting crime as a New York City cop. It will show how he “became a ‘die hard’ kind of guy.” Bruce Willis will reprise his role in the film but in the later part of the story which will take place in the present. That’s how the movie will be both a prequel and sequel.
This wouldn’t be the first time McClane’s early years have been the subject of a story. From 2009 to 2010, Boom! Studios published a comic book also called Die Hard: Year One. The story was set in New York during the 1976 bicentennial. Of course he had to take on a group of violent terrorists. That comic was followed up by another one that was set during the 1977 New York blackout. The story that Wiseman and Di Bonaventura are developing, though, will be an original story.
The last time we saw Willis as McClane was in 2013’s A Good Day to Die Hard, which really wasn’t all that good. Hopefully this next sequel will turn out a lot better. What are your thoughts on the direction they are looking to take this new sequel?

James Cameron has been wanting to get his big screen live action adaptation of Alita: Battle Angel off the ground for a very, very long time. Then he started work on all those Avatar sequels which have him tied up over the next several years.
