Tom Cruise In Talks To Lead THE MUMMY Reboot

A few years ago, Tom Cruise was attached to produce and star in a Van Helsing reboot from Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. That project ultimately ended up never happening, and while Kurtzman and Orci have since parted ways, Kurtzman is now one of the minds behind reimagining Universal’s monster movies into a new connected cinematic universe. First up on that slate is a reboot of The Mummy, which Kurtzman is going to direct himself, and now, according to Variety, Tom Cruise is in talks to play the lead role in that film. Continue reading

Paramount Setting up the Future of G.I. JOE and MICRONAUTS Franchises

Not long ago, Paramount Pictures took a page from the TV production playbook and created a writers room to generate ideas for the future of the Transformers franchise. Batman & Robin and A Beautiful Mind writer Akiva Goldsman led the group, and the result of the studio’s efforts was coming up with at least five viable ideas for upcoming movies. It looks like Paramount liked how the writers room idea turned out, because they’ve hired Goldsman to oversee new rooms for G.I. Joe and Micronauts, two more Hasbro properties the studio is hoping will make big money for them down the line. Continue reading

‘Jem and the Holograms’ pulled from theatres after dismal two-week run

jem-holograms

In what can only be deemed “truly outrageous,” Universal Pictures’ movie rehash of ’80s cartoon “Jem” has already been pulled from theatres after a mere two-week run.

Jem and the Holograms, a more saccharine and less punky version of the popular classic, pulled in a meagre $1.37 million (all figures USD) in its opening weekend.

From there, it continued to dive over its second week, making $160 on average at each American theatre playing the film, which, considering the price of popcorn, is not good.

As a result, Universal has pulled the movie entirely from theatres, in what industry insiders are calling an unprecedented move. Continue reading

5 Character Posters for ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS

Disney’s upcoming film Alice Through the Looking Glass is a sequel to Tim Butron’s Alice In Wonderland. The trailer was met with a lot of mixed reactions from fans, but for the most part, it seems a lot of people are excited for this next chapter in Alice’s story.

The story follows Alice as she returns to Underland to help save the Mad Hatter from going dark, and this requires an adventure through time. While on her journey, she comes across younger versions of several of the characters that she met in the last film. Continue reading

The WARCRAFT Movie Is the Ultimate Version of the First WARCRAFT Game

The full trailer of Warcraft premiered as BlizzCon 2015, and it was quite an amazing experience watching it in a room full of Warcraft fans. I don’t think you will have had to play the game to be able to enjoy this movie. This seems like it will be the kind of film that will appeal to all fantasy movie fans! Judging by the reactions to the trailer, though, some people are surprisingly not that excited for it. Continue reading

Hollywood doesn’t allow for many surprises as simple and sensationally entertaining as John Wick much anymore. What could have been yet another disposable action jaunt with zero joy and unendurably lazy self-awareness turned out to be a vibrantly playful debut for stunt-coordinators-turned-directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch. Continue reading
