At a Deadpool fan event, there was an interesting quotes from star Ryan Reynolds.

Answering fan questions, the actor was asked about reports that they wanted Taskmaster in the movie, and while he didn’t get too specific, it definitely sounds like Marvel Studios wouldn’t even consider lending him to Fox. Continue reading

Simon Kinberg Confirms Plan For DEADPOOL, GAMBIT, and X-MEN Crossover

After the disastrous box office performance of Fantastic Four, it’s not too surprising that writer/producer Simon Kinberg said that film’s characters live in a parallel universe to the much more successful X-Men. But just because a crossover between those two properties seems unlikely at this point doesn’t mean Kinberg has entirely given up on the idea of crossovers. Continue reading

Deadpool Director wants Cable to be included in possible sequel

I’m really hoping that Tim Miller’s Deadpool film does well enough at the box office to warrant a sequel. I know the fans are going to love it, but there’s a whole audience out there that has no idea who Deadpool is, and they are the ones who will decide the fate of the film because they drastically outnumber the fans.

If Miller and Ryan Reynolds do get to make a sequel, we know one character who will be included. While talking to Empire, Miller reveals that he wants Cable to join the franchise.

“We kind of wanted a straight-man to play against Colossus. We thought about Cannonball, but he would’ve been a stupid hick character, whereas the guys wrote Negasonic as this deadpan goth teen, which was a great angle. She turned out really well. There aren’t really many definitive Deadpool villains, apart from Cable. If we don’t put Cable in ‘Deadpool 2,’ I think we’ll be run out of town on a rail.”

It honestly wouldn’t make sense to keep the Deadpool film franchise going without the inclusion of Cable. He has to be a part of it! These two characters play off each other so freakin’ well and let’s face it: they belong in a movie together. They’ve earned it with their crazy awesome stories and adventures!

Deadpool is scheduled to open February 12th, 2016.

Deadpool Trailer Breakdown

Deadpool footage is finally here, and it is looking awesome. But we’re not just here for the violence and the fourth-wall-breaking—we’re here to find out what secrets we can uncover from Fox’s new take on the merc with a mouth. “Everyone hates what they did to Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but nobody blames Ryan for it.” So says Tim Miller, director of Deadpool, in which almost uniquely, Ryan Reynolds has doggedly pursued the opportunity to revisit the character and do it right. All indications are that he and his team have absolutely nailed it this time. And with the trailer for the long-developed and much-rumoured Deadpool finally with us, we dragged Miller away from the editing suite long enough to talk us through it. (POTENTIAL SPOILERS ALERT!!!) Some more photos from the set of Deadpool have surfaced, and they feature Ryan Reynolds and his stunt-double in costume taking on Colossus. Or at least a giant man named Andre Tricoteux dressed up in a motion-capture suit, who will be replaced by a CGI Colossus in the final product. There are also shots of Ed Skrein as Ajax and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

Some of the photos may contain SPOILERS, so I wouldn’t look or read any further if you’re not in to the whole spoiler thing. Continue reading

Deadpool: First Look At Brianna Hildebrand As Negasonic Teenage Warhead

Ryan Reynolds has tweeted out the first look at newcomer Brianna Hildebrand as the mutant called Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

In the comics, she was created by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. She was introduced during the “E for Extinction” story arc. She was a part of Emma Frost’s class for psychics on Genosha, and died during the storyline’s wild Sentinel assault on the island nation of mutants. She has psychic powers and got her interesting name from the Monster Magnet song.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool slices into theaters February 12, 2016.
