Lucasfilm Will Reportedly Start Shooting Their OBI-WAN KENOBI Movie in 2019 in Belfast

It looks like Lucasfilm might be farther along on the development of their Obi-Wan Kenobi movie than previously thought. It seems they are looking to shoot the film in Belfast at Paint Hall studios in the Titanic Quarter. This is where HBO’s Game of Thrones series is shot. According to the Belfast Telegraph, once production on Game of Thrones comes to an end, Lucasfilm will be moving in to start work on the Obi-Wan solo film. Apparently, they’ll start shooting in 2019. Oh, and George Lucas even visited Belfast to check out the shooting locations for the new film.

Movie mogul Lucas was pictured eating out in swanky Holywood restaurant Noble during his short Belfast visit. The snap led to frenzied speculation as to why he was visiting the city.

It’s understood that it was to give his seal of approval to the latest Star Wars spin-off being shot in Northern Ireland – a move that will pump millions of pounds into the local economy.

Lucas spent part of his time here last November being given a guided tour of the Paint Hall studios. Paint Hall sources said Lucas was hugely impressed by the Belfast studio.

According to a New Report Zack Snyder Was Actually Fired From JUSTICE LEAGUE

When it was announced that Zack Snyder would be stepping down as the director of Justice League due to a family tragedy, fans were heartbroken. As you know, his daughter committed suicide and it was completely understandable for him to walk away to deal with things.

As sad as it was, as time went on there was something else about all this that didn’t seem right. Then I started to get information from people I know at Warner Bros. about what was really going on. I have tiptoed around this stuff in many of the articles I have written regarding Snyder and Justice League, but I was asked not to come right out and say anything. Well, now someone has said something.

It seems as if Snyder may have actually been fired from the film three months before the official announcement was made. That’s around the same time that Joss Whedon was brought on board to start working on the script. The news comes from veteran entertainment reporter Josh L. Dickey, who posted the following on Twitter:

George Lucas Was Developing a Han Solo Film Before Disney Bought Lucasfilm

Here’s an interesting bit of Star Wars trivia that I didn’t know until today! Solo: A Star Wars Story co-writer Lawrence Kasdan recently revealed in an interview with EW, that he was actually developing a standalone Han Solo film with George Lucas before Disney bought Lucasfilm.

If George Lucas wouldn’t have sold Lucasfilm to Disney, there’s a good chance that he was on the road to launching his own Star Wars expanded cinematic universe, which is pretty cool. According to the report:

Even before Lucasfilm was sold to Disney in 2012, launching a renaissance of galactic storytelling, Lawrence Kasdan had signed on to put together a Han Solo-centric movie.

THE NEW GIRL’s Hannah Simone Cast as Lead in ABC’s GREATEST AMERICAN HERO Reboot

the-new-girls-hannah-simone-cast-as-lead-in-abcs-greatest-american-hero-reboot-social.jpg

ABC has cast The New Girl‘s Hannah Simone in the lead role of their upcoming reboot of the classic 80s series Greatest American Hero.

It was previously revealed that the new version of the series would center on a 30-year-old Indian-American woman from Cleveland named Meera. It’s explained that her talents include tequila drinking, karaoke and… not much else. “Then some aliens entrust her with a super suit to protect the planet, and the world has never been in more unreliable hands.”

I liked Simone in The New Girl and I hope that this new series turns out to be a good project for her. Rebooting a fan-favorite classic of anything is a rough and dangerous business these days. Most of the time these types of projects end up not working out.

Marvel is currently prepping up for production on The Punisher Season 2 and thanks to some recently revealed character breakdowns, it looks like we might know what the story will entail. The information in those character breakdowns points to the second season possibly adapting Garth Ennis’ acclaimed “The Slavers” story arc from the comic book in the mid-2000s.

In a recent report from That Hashtag Show, Marvel is looking for two actor to take on the role of a couple of characters who will be series regulars. Those characters are Annie Bier and Kim Davis.

For Annie, they want to cast an 18-year-old female to play a 16-year-old and the character is described as, “someone who is used to the streets and is both scrappy and aware of her environment.” As for Kim, they want and actress in her mid-30s of any ethnicity and she will be a therapist.

J.J. Abrams Said It’s Possible The CLOVERFIELD Film Characters Will Crossover

Following the release of The Cloverfield Paradox, J.J. Abrams hopped on Facebook Live for a Q&A regarding the franchise and fielded questions from fans about what’s coming up for the future. When asked about the possibility of the film’s characters crossing over with each other in a future film, Abrams guaranteed nothing, but said it’s something they’ve discussed (via Dread Central):

“We’ve talked about versions of things like when we did 10 Cloverfield Lane, we were thinking Michelle – the character Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays – it’s such a sort of weird origin story of this kind of incredibly, I think, awesome heroine, that idea of following her story is really cool. And then at one point, we were like, ‘You know what would be really cool? What if they crossed paths with Gugu [Mbatha-Raw]’s character Ava?’ You start to think of ‘what ifs.’ And I think the bigger ideas that we’ve had about where this thing goes haven’t necessarily been those ideas, but they’ve kind of been fun theoretical offshoots.”

I’d say that’s too unrealistic to have characters like Michelle and Ava team up, but I gotta remember what franchise we’re talking about here. Ultimately, I’d say it comes down to what the fans want…so I want to hear your opinion. Should the Cloverfield films have crossover elements?

Ryan Coogler Wanted Kraven The Hunter To Appear in BLACK PANTHER

Marvel’s Black Panther movie is a visual feast of awesomeness and fans are going to freakin’ love it! As you’d expect the film is filled with all kinds of comic book references and characters that are associated with Wakanda and other elements of the MCU. However, there was one character from the comics that director Ryan Coogler really wanted to use, but unfortunately, he wasn’t able to. That character is Kraven the Hunter! During an interview with Yahoo!, the director said:

“Being a Marvel fan, you want to grab all the characters. You realise there’s contractual things. You don’t have that character. There was a Christopher Priest run that was pretty heavy, there’s a big scene where Panther’s fighting Kraven, Kraven the Hunter.

“I’ve always loved Kraven the Hunter in almost every iteration. So there was a moment – ‘Can I grab Kraven?’ – and they were ‘Nah, you don’t have Kraven.’ He was one where I thought ‘Oh, man.’ But I don’t even know if he would have worked in the movie we ended up with, this was the early days.”

The Doom Patrol will appear on the Titans TV Show

DC Entertainment CCO Geoff Johns has made a huge reveal by showing off the title page for an upcoming episode of Titans“The #Titans are getting some company…” he wrote

ahead of the photo that reveals the episode’s title of “Doom Patrol.”

Created by writers Arnold Drake & Bob Haney and artist Bruno Premiani, The Doom Patrol are a superpowered group of misfits in the DCU whose adventures border on the incredibly bizarre and outrageous, even for comics. Lead by Niles Caulder, the original team consisted of the likes of the super strong (albeit dimwitted) Cliff Steele, the self explanatory Elasti-Girl, and the astral projected Negative Man.
