Supersize Your Superheroes With Hasbro’s New 12-Inch Marvel Legends Figures
There have been hundreds of Marvel characters introduced in the comics over the years, and it seems like almost every last one has showed up in Hasbro’s Marvel Legends figure line. But you can only squeeze so much detail into a three or six-inch figure, which is why Hasbro is now supersizing its Marvel Legends line to 12-inches.
Available later this year in the fall, we’re going to assume the new Marvel Legends 12-inch line is Hasbro’s attempt to compete with toymakers like Hot Toys who’ve been creating incredibly detailed foot-tall figures for years now. Continue reading
New BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Movie in Development at Universal
Wait ’til the old man hears about this! Those frakkin’ toasters over in Hollywood are once again trying their hand at bringing Battlestar Galactica to the big screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, producer Michael DeLuca is partnering with Bluegrass Films to develop the venerable sci-fi series as a franchise at Universal Pictures. ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ Has Started Filming
Its release date may have just been pushed back, but production on the next proper Star Wars installment has gotten underway only a few weeks after originally scheduled. During an earnings call with investors (via EW), Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that filming on Star Wars: Episode VIII is now underway with writer/director Rian Johnson, presumably in London where Star Wars has its soundstage base of operations.
Cameras for Episode VIII actually began rolling last fall, as Johnson and Mark Hamill ventured to the Irish location of Skellig Michael, glimpsed at the very end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. They no doubt wanted to grab the necessary footage to pick up after the events of The Force Awakens before the weather took a sharp turn into winter, so they took part in what are called “pre-shoots,” or bits of photography done before principal photography has actually begun. The New GHOSTBUSTERS Have Their Own LEGO Set Now
Ohhh yes. There’s a brand new Ecto-1 and Busters set coming out in conjunction with Paul Feig‘s highly anticipated new film.
