Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirms “I’ll Be Back” in the Next TERMINATOR Movie

Good news for Terminator fans, Arnold Schwarzenegger says he will once again play the cybernetic killing machine. In a recent interview with Screen Daily, Schwarzenegger confirmed that he will star in a new Terminator film produced by James Cameron.

“It is moving forward. He [Cameron] has some good ideas of how to continue with the franchise,” the actor added, “I will be in the movie.”

This is exciting news because Cameron has not been involved in any Terminator films since Terminator 2: Judgement Day and we all know everything after T2 was somewhat disappointing. It’s going to be interesting to see how this develops because Cameron is slightly busy working on the next four Avatar sequel films. It was previously revealed that Deadpool director Tim Miller would be working with Cameron on developing the new film.

What do you think about Cameron and Schwarzenegger teaming up once again? Is late better than never?

Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t Done with the TERMINATOR Franchise Yet

As you may have heard, there were recent reports revolving around Arnold Schwarzenegger not wanting to do any more Terminator films. Well, turns out that’s not true. During a recent interview with Fandango, the actor called the previous reports fake news and says he’s “looking forward to doing another Terminator movie.” He says:

The clear, tight-knit, non-paradox inducing Terminator franchise timeline could be in trouble

Despite not going over too well with critics and most everyone else, Terminator: Genisys still took in close to $440 million worldwide, (which currently places it at #197 all-time at the time of this posting. By way of comparison, 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is right below it at #198 with $433.4M. The dollars are not adjusted for inflation, it was released 12 years earlier, and it did not have the benefit of 3D or IMAX for extra revenue.) Paramount/Skydance seemed dead set on continuing the franchise after “readjusting” their approach to the material. Continue reading

Terminator Sequel Removed from Paramount Schedule

The planned Terminator sequel has been removed from the Paramount schedule.

It has been a busy day for release date swaps. Following this morning’s shift of Star Wars: Episode VIII to December 2017, Paramount Pictures has set their big screen Baywatch film for release on May 19, 2017. That’s a date that the studio previously had earmarked for a followup to last year’s Terminator Genisys. The future of the franchise is now uncertain as plans for new Terminator sequel installments have been removed from the studio schedule. Continue reading

Terminator Franchise Is Being Re-Adjusted

terminator-genisys-trailer-2

Rumor has it that the disappointing domestic performance of Terminator Genisys has squashed plans for future installments in the series. Speaking at a leadership conference for TheWrap, Skydance Media Chief Creative Officer Dana Goldberg says the franchise isn’t dead as much as readjusting.

“Do we intend to have a next step of Terminator? Yes, we do,” Goldberg said. “I wouldn’t say on hold, so much as re-adjusting.”

While Genisys underperformed domestically, it did stellar at the worldwide box office, bringing In $350 million overseas.

“We’re ultimately happy with overall worldwide numbers. Do I wish we would have done better domestically? Absolutely,” said Goldberg. “Happily, we live in the world where the domestic number had a level of importance 10 or 15 years ago — I’m not saying it’s not important, it is — but we have to play to a worldwide market. In terms of Terminator, the worldwide market paid attention, but we’re not taking the domestic number lightly.”

Goldberg says Skydance will try to improve on the next Terminator experience by data mining audiences to see what went right and what went wrong with Genisys.

In the end, Genisys’ success or failure is almost irrelevant. Hollywood is still Hollywood, and there seems little chance that any major studio would let a franchise like Terminator, with a pre-sold audience of nostalgia addicts and franchise diehards, sit on the back burner for long. Terminator Franchise Reportedly On Hold Indefinitely

terminator-genisys-trailer-2

After the reboot Terminator: Genisys drastically underperformed this summer, it seems the franchise is once again on the backburner. David Ellison and Skydance Productions at one time had two sequels and a TV program in development for the series, THR reports, but now that universe is “on hold indefinitely.” Continue reading

Tons of Famous Movie Characters Meet at Hell’s Club in This Magnificent Mashup

Editor Antonio Maria De Silva has created something magical with Hell’s Club, a mashup that features tons of characters across movie history interacting in the same fictional club. This is a Twilight Zone-style place where Ewan McGregor’s young version of Obi-Wan Kenobi can walk in and make eye contact with Ewan McGregor’s character from Trainspotting, or Tom Cruise in Collateral can catch the eye of Tom Cruise from Cocktail behind the bar. It’s a place where John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever can bust a move on the dance floor while John Travolta from Pulp Fiction watches from above, and where Blade fights The Terminator for no reason whatsoever. It doesn’t make the slightest bit of sense, but it’s pretty awesome! I don’t normally post this kind of thing, but I feel it’s a must-watch, so here we go!
