Will IDW answer why “Command” starts with a “K” in M.A.S.K. comic reboot?

The 1980s cartoon “M.A.S.K.” was one of many action series, and it could make for a hell of an awesome film. With the right script and director, (think George Miller) it could be at the same caliber of greatness as Mad Max: Fury Road. If you hope that Paramount Pictures and the creative team they’ve gathered to develop the film will do the series justice, then you will have another Jem and the Holograms at your hands. If you want this to be somewhat decent, on the other hand… that’s another story.

Before that movie comes out, though, fans will be treated to a comic book reboot from writer Brandon Easton and artist Tony Vargas. The comic is being published by IDW, and according to USA Today, they will be giving it a Fast and Furious spin. Continue reading

Daisy Ridley might star in the Tomb Raider reboot

Of all the young actors who pulled off star-making turns in The Force Awakens (John Boyega, the tiny mouse that controls BB-8, Greg Grunberg), it looks like Daisy Ridley is going to be the one who gets to claim the title of “New Chris Pratt.” In other words, her name is going to be attached to every single high-profile genre project in development, and rumors about her starring in things are going to pop up every few months. It’s fitting, then, given the many times Chris Pratt has been rumored to be starring in an Indiana Jones reboot, that the first hot rumor about Ridley is that she might star as the very Indiana Jones-like Lara Croft in a reboot of the Tomb Raider movie series. Zendaya joins Tom Holland in Spider-Man reboot

Zendaya is swinging into the cast of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man reboot.

The actress and singer has been cast alongside Tom Holland in the film, EW has confirmed.

Holland will star as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the new take on the web-slinger, which will be directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car) and due out in 2017. Marvel boss Kevin Feige has previously said the as-yet-untitled film will be inspired by John Hughes movies, and will not be an origin story. Continue reading

FRIDAY THE 13TH Reboot Update Confirms the Obvious

friday-the-13th-reboot-update

Producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller are currently in the process of developing another reboot of Friday the 13th for Platinum Dunes. In an interview with Collider, Form gives a little update and confirms that Jason will be coming back to the big screen to kill a bunch of stupid drunken horny teenagers in the woods.

“Just working on the script still. Hoping to make that movie this year and Brad, I’m gonna confirm that Jason is in the movie. There was a rumor out there that Jason was not in it…”

Fuller reiterated…

“Jason is in the movie, that is confirmed.”

Why wouldn’t Jason be in the movie? He has become the iconic staple of the franchise. Was there a time when they weren’t going to include Jason? I think it’s funny that they are confirming the obvious. The last thing I heard about the movie was that the producers were taking pitches for a found footage version of the franchise. I always enjoyed watching the original films, but the last reboot sucked, and I’m not convinced that this next one will be any better. The movie is set to be released on November 13th, and it will be directed by David Bruckner (V/H/S).

‘X-Files’ in talks with fox for reboot

The-X-Files.jpg

Fox’s new agenda is looking a lot like their old one. Confirming some prior reports, the network’s leadership says they are seriously chasing a reboot of The X-Files and are possibly interested in bringing back Prison Break too (along with yet another edition of 24 as well — but that’s another story).

On The X-Files front, Fox chairman and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman say they have been in talks with series creator Chris Carter about reviving the supernatural procedural, which was a major hit for the network from 1993 to 2002. The executives also revealed they hope to have original series stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprise their roles on the show.

One thing all three titles have in common is they’re properties of 20th Century Fox Television, which Walden and Newman ran prior to adding the Fox broadcast network to their plate last year.

“It’s true that we’ve had some conversations on X-Files,” Newman said. “We’re hopeful of being able to bring that back at some point.”

Walden added: “Gary and I both worked [at 20th Century Fox Television] through the entire run of The X Files. It was a great experience. We’ve maintained good relationships with Chris, David and Gillian. We’re very hopeful, but it’s hard. The actors are very busy. They have a lot going on. Chris has a lot on his plate, so it’s just trying to carve out the time.”

Amazon recently declined to make Carter’s new post-apocalyptic series project The After, so the writer-producer may be more open to revisiting his past. More problematic is that Duchovny has an upcoming NBC event series, Aquarius, while Anderson has a recurring role on NBC’s Hannibal. Both actors would presumably have to get contractually clear of their commitments to Fox’s rival before signing onto an X-Files relaunch.

I wasnt a fan but if you were  what  do you think of this? should the show come back?
