Why Marvel Has Been Purposefully Withholding IRON FIST

When Marvel and Netflix failed to announce, well, just about anything about Iron Fist, the fourth show in its lineup that began with Daredevil and leads up to the superhero team-up mini-series The Defenders, the internet began to wonder about the show’s prospects. Reports started showing up about how the company didn’t know what to do with the character, and then how they were reportedly going to turn Iron Fist into a movie and give Jon Bernthal’s Punisher his own spin-off show to take Iron Fist’s place on the roster. While we still aren’t 100% sure whether those were legitimate conversations happening within Marvel’s TV department, the company is now saying that the reason we haven’t  Continue reading

JESSICA JONES Talks About a Possible Season 2 and THE DEFENDERS

The first season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones dropped on Netflix late last week, and many fans have already torn through every episode. There has been a ton of positive responses to it so far, with many saying it’s an even better show than Daredevil. Mike Colter’s Luke Cage shows up in the series and plants the seeds for his own series, and I suspect Krysten Ritter’s Jessica will at least make an appearance in his solo show, but will we see a second season of Jessica Jones before the eventual team-up series The Defenders? The Punisher is such a popular character that it makes complete sense for Marvel to push that series into development if it works within the universe. Continue reading

We just learned  that Bruce Banner/Hulk might appear in Thor: Ragnarok. Now we have some additional information about the tone and another character that might appear in it.

We know Thor: Ragnarok would be a dark film. After all, the comic book story arc features an apocalyptic battle that the Realm of Asgard has experienced over and over and over again. Ragnarok is a cycle of death and rebirth.

The sequel is being written by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle, and according to Birth.Movies.Death., the script is the darkest one yet for Marvel, which apparently is one of the reasons why they brought on Taika Waititi to direct it. During a recent Q&A that director James Gunn held on Facebook, he offered some updates regarding Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. There’s nothing major revealed, but he did tease a few things. The director confirmed that casting on the film is almost complete and that they will shoot the film for 10 months in Atlanta starting in February 2016.

When asked about the characters who will be introduced in the film, he revealed that there will be at least one new character:

“I’m not going to give names and I won’t give numbers either, but there will be at least one new character in Guardians of the Galaxy.”

As for Adam Warlock’s involvement in Guardians of the Galaxy and whether or not the character could play a part in Avengers: Infinity War, he said:

“You guys gotta wait and see… Everything’s going to be different in the ‘Infinity Wars.’ I’m a lot more concerned with ‘Vol. 2’ than I am with ‘Infinity Wars.’ The way the movie [’Vol. 2’] is structured and made – it really is a story unto itself. It’s not about leading up to anything else. It’s about the Guardians and their lives.”

SINISTER SIX Movie Could Still Happen If Marvel Wants It To

When Marvel and Sony teamed up to reboot Spider-Man and introduce the superhero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans were excited as hell! I was more excited about that project than anything else Sony was working on before Marvel came into the picture.

In a recent interview with io9, Goddard opened up about his original vision of the film, explaining that it would have been standalone Spider-Man movie set in the world of The Amazing Spider-Man, and it would have featured the return of Andrew Garfield as the web-slinger. Continue reading
