Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder surprised the internet today with a first look at Jason Momoa as Aquaman!

The former “Game of Thrones” star is set to first appear as the character in the March 25, 2016 release, then will star in Justice League Part One in 2017, followed by the solo Aquaman movie in 2018.

With the “Unite The Seven” tagline prominently on the poster, will we see more character reveals very soon? Or do you think they are referring to the Seven Seas? Stay tuned!

Marvel’s Vendetta against Fox Continues; Comic Writers No Longer Allowed to Create New X-MEN Characters; FANTASTIC FOUR Comics to End Next Year

While Sony Pictures and Marvel might be able to work out a deal to bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the bitter rivalry between Marvel and 20th Century Fox continues. Fox owns the screen rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four, and Marvel has retaliated by undermining those properties.  According to Marvel Comics writer Chris Claremont [via Bleeding Cool], the company has forbidden the creation of new X-Men characters because those characters could then be used by Fox.

Fans Petition Dreamworks to Replace ScarJo for Live-Action Ghost in the Shell

The controversy over the casting of Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming live-action Ghost in the Shell film continues. It’s now the subject of an online petition aimed at Dreamworks, the producers of the film, which urges them to consider recasting the role with an Asian-American actor.

As of this writing, the petition has 35,827 signatures out of a goal of 36,000.

Morena Baccarin Joins Deadpool as Female Lead

The Hollywood Reporter brings word that “Homeland,” “Firefly” and “Gotham” actress Morena Baccarin has joined the cast of 20th Century Fox’s long awaited Deadpool feature film as the female lead and romantic interest of the title character.
