Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Trailer

The film opens Dec. 16, and this shot is slightly different from the one die-hard fans were treated to at Star Wars Celebration in London last month, where a reel of footage that wasn’t broadcast outside the auditorium showed Vader’s reflection as he stood before a massive orange fireball.

James Earl Jones is returning as the voice of Vader, who will loom large as the Emperor’s right hand — a position other figures within the Empire would love to take, among them Director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), the head of the Death Star project under the Advanced Weapons Research division of the dictatorship. Star Wars: ABC in talks for TV series

ABC has set its targeting computer on Star Wars.

Entertainment president Channing Dungey was asked at the Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour in Beverly Hills on Thursday whether she wants a primetime series based on the franchise that’s owned by parent company Disney. American Film Institute 44th Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute to John Williams

The American Film Institute held a red carpet event honoring legendary film composer John Williams with a lifetime achievement award. The 84-year-old Williams, whose work on all four Indiana Jones films as well as all seven Star Wars Saga films are career-defining, took the opportunity to assure the world he would be back for Lucasfilm‘s next installments of both franchises.

“If I can do it, I certainly will,” Williams confirmed to Variety of his commitment to do the music for Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII, currently in the home stretch of filming. “I told Kathy Kennedy I’m happy to do it, but the real reason is, I didn’t want anybody else writing music for Daisy Ridley.” Continue reading →
