WOLVERINE: There’s a Good Chance Hugh Jackman will be back for more wolverine!

Over the last few months he’s been hinting that he’s almost done with playing the character and that it’s inevitable that he will be replaced one day. There’s also been a lot of uncertainty over whether or not he would return for the Wolverine sequel currently being developed by James Mangold. He’s not officially signed on to do it, but according to a recent interview, he could very well end up playing the character for an eighth time!

Yahoo Movies conducted a joint-interview with Jackman and his X-Men: Days of Future Past co-stars, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy. During the interview they answered fan questions from Twitter. When Jackman was asked if he would return to play Wolverine in the sequel he gave a hopeful answer,

“Um, I am not signed on, but if I was a betting man, there’s a good chance. Yes.”

He’s then asked to reconfirm:

“There’s a good chance you’re coming back?”

The actor replied:

“There’s a good chance.”

Wow  that  could be  some  great news!  I  love  what  jackman has  done  for the  character,  i just  feel  he  has not  been able to show  what   wolverine  can do!  as  for the  looks   i  don’t  think he  could ever get  replaced!  What are your  thoughts on all this?  We  want to know?

X-men: Mystique Could Get Her Own Spin-Off Movie

According to X-Men franchise producer Lauren Shuler Donner, there’s a chance that we could see a spin-off Mystique film. In a recent interview with EW, she started talking about spin-off films saying,

“There was a regime [at the studio] that didn’t see the worth in [spin-offs], and the current people who run Fox understand, embrace it, and we’re going to do right by it. I’d like to do Gambit. I’d like to do Deadpool. We’ll see. There’s a lot of really great characters.”

We’ve heard all of those names mentioned before as potential spin-off movies and Deadpool for sure needs to happen! Fox is kind of stupid for not pulling the trigger on it yet. The producer then goes on to add Mystique to that list of potential spin-off films saying,

“I love what Jen Lawrence has done with her, and I feel like because she is in such a crowded ensemble, there’s so much more opportunity if you were to follow her solo.”

Watch Jean-Claude Van Damme in Original PREDATOR Suit

If you’re a fan of the movie Predator, you’ve got to watch this video commentary from Stan Winston School. It features Makeup FX innovator Steve Johnson giving us the history of the Predator costume, showing the original “terrible” design. It even includes video footage of aspiring action star at the time Jean-Claude Van Damme wearing a version of the suit that would be used for cloaking scenes.

I love how no one on the production explained to Van Damme what he would be doing in the film or why he was wearing the suit. Poor guy thought that was what the alien would look like, and he was kind of pissed off, especially when he learned he wouldn’t be performing any martial arts or fighting Arnold Schwarzenegger.

When the final version of the suit was developed, Kevin Peter Hall was the guy who stepped into the role. I’m so glad they didn’t go with that original design, the final design used in the film is so much better. I can’t imagine the Predator looking any other way.

Holly Hunter’s Role in BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Revealed?

It was recently announced that Holly Hunter would be joining the cast of Zack Snyder‘s Batman Vs. Superman. There was no information on the character she would be playing, other than that it would be a new character created for the movie.

Latino Review may have been able to shed some light on who she will be playing in the movie. They think that the actress will be playing Leslie Thompkins, or “a Leslie Thompkins replacement character.”

The site goes on to explain that Leslie is “a doctor who went to medical school with Bruce’s dad before he was murdered and in some versions of the Batman mythos, comforted young Bruce the very night of. Think of her like a female Alfred, almost.”

The character did appear in Batman: The Animated Series. She knew Bruce Wayne was Batman and would even treat Bruce for medical injuries. Technically, she and Alfred are like surrogate parents to Bruce.

This is just a rumor for now, but it makes sense, and would be cool if it was true. Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter working together to help Batman would be really great.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII – Tatooine Being Rebuilt in the Desert

It was recently announced that Star Wars: Episode VII is already shooting and that casting for the film is almost complete. Thanks to THR, we’ve now learned that J.J. Abrams and Disney are planning an “extensive re-creation of the desolate home of Luke and Anakin Skywalker in a Morocco-like environment.” That home is the planet Tatooine.

It’s no surprise that Abrams will be taking at least part of the story pack to Tatooine. I’m sure there are going to be a lot of nostalgic elements featured in the film. It’s going to be kind of crazy to revisit this universe and get caught up with some of our favorite characters that were introduced to us so long ago.

Story Behind the PULP FICTION Reference in CAPTAIN AMERICA 2

One of the funniest easter eggs in Captain America: The Winter Soldier wasn’t a reference to another Marvel property. It was a reference to Samuel L. Jackson‘s Jules Winfield character in Quentin Tarantino‘s 1994 classic Pulp Fiction. Maybe you caught it, maybe you didn’t, but thanks to /Film and directors Anthony and Joe Russo, we have a little background on how it ended up in the film.

At a certain point in the film we are led to believe that Nick Fury died. That’s what he wanted Hydra to think. After they defeated Hydra and took down S.H.I.E.L.D., Fury, Cap, Falcon, and Black Widow meet in a graveyard at Fury’s fake gravesite. His tombstone had the following quote:

The path of the righteous man: Ezekiel 25: 17

That’s part of a bible verse quote that Samuel L. Jackson quoted in Pulp Fiction. I’ve seen the movie twice so far, and the first audience I saw it with cracked up when they saw it. The second audience didn’t even flinch at it. So who knows how many people caught it.

Here’s the explanation of how the quote made the final cut:

Anthony Russo: Well yeah, we, I mean, we just, we kept trying to figure out what his tombstone should look like and we couldn’t settle on anything like–

Joe Russo: Like what would his epitaph be and, you know, we went through like maybe 10 iterations of his tombstone. And I remember was it–?

Anthony: We were just sitting in visual effects one day.

Joe: Dan Deleeuw, our effects supervisor, came up with the idea to do that.

Anthony: I don’t remember.

Joe: I think it was. But again, you know, we’re always because we’re geeks and we love that kind of stuff, when we make movies, we’re always trying to put it in the movies, our movies for other people, our TV shows. So it’s better to put something in there that is a wink and a smile and excites people than just something bland, you know?

U.S. wrestling star The Ultimate Warrior dies at 54: WWE

Ultimate Warrior dies: He was 54: The Ultimate Warrior, whose real name was James Hellwig, began his WWE career in 1987 and rose to become one of the biggest stars in WWE history.

The Ultimate Warrior, one of the most colorful stars in pro wrestling history, has died, the WWE said. He was 54.

The WWE said Warrior, who legally changed his name from James Hellwig to his wrestling moniker, died Tuesday. Scottsdale, Arizona, police spokesman Sgt. Mark Clark said he collapsed while walking with his wife to their car at a hotel and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

There were no signs of foul play, Clark said. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy Thursday, county spokeswoman Cari Gerchick said.

Hellwig was one of pro wrestling’s biggest stars in the late 1980s. He beat Hulk Hogan in a memorable match at Wrestlemania in 1990.

He was in the spotlight again earlier this week, making appearances at the latest WrestleMania in New Orleans and on “Monday Night Raw,” and being inducted into the WWE Hall of fame.

“WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior,” WWE said in a statement, adding: “We are grateful that just days ago, Warrior had the opportunity to take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame.”

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon tweeted: “We are all so sad the Ultimate Warrior has passed away. Our heart is with his wife Dana and his two daughters.”

The Ultimate Warrior personified the larger-than-life cartoon characters who helped skyrocket the WWE into the mainstream in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Warrior dressed in face paint, had tassels dangling from his super-sized biceps and sprinted to the ring when his theme song hit. He’d shake the ropes and grunt and howl while the crowd went wild for the popular good guy.

He made his debut with the promotion when it was known as the World Wrestling Federation in 1987 and wrestled on and off for the sports entertainment empire until 1996.

The Ultimate Warrior became the first wrestler to defeat Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania when he used his finishing splash for the pin. He won the championship in front of 67,678 fans at Toronto’s SkyDome in a match billed as “The Ultimate Challenge.”

The Ultimate Warrior would defeat Randy “Macho Man” Savage the next year at WrestleMania. Savage, who died in 2011, Hogan and Warrior were all enormous personalities with gaudy costumes and memorable catchphrases. They led the WWE’s transformation from a promotion running weekend arena shows and Saturday morning TV into one booking events at the largest stadiums around the world with millions watching every Monday night. More than 5.1 million viewers watched Warrior’s final appearance Monday night on “Raw.”

The Ultimate Warrior had a falling out with the WWE and did not appear on its TV shows after July 8, 1996, until last weekend. He reconciled with McMahon and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. He also made an appearance on “Raw” and shook the ropes one final time in front of another crowd that went wild for the Warrior.

“Speak to me, Warriors!” he bellowed, as the New Orleans crowd chanted his name.

Warrior put on a mask that resembled his famous face paint and cut a promo about 24 hours before his death that seems eerie now.

“No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own,” Warrior said. “Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe their final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others, it makes them bleed deeper and something larger than life, then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized.”

12 MONKEYS Series Heading to SyFy TV 12 Monkeys SyFy

Deadline recently reported that SyFy has picked up a new 12 Monkeys series for 12 episodes, starting in January 2015. This series is based on the 1995 Terry Gilliam film starring Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt.

The story for the show “follows the journey of a time traveler (Aaron Stanford) from the post-apocalyptic future who appears in present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will eventually decimate the human race.”

The series also stars Amanda Schull, Noah Bean, and Kirk Acevedo.

I am such a huge fan of the movie, and I completely recommend watching it if you haven’t already. Pitt was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film. He would have won that year had he not been up against Kevin Spacey as Verbal Kint.

Holly Hunter Cast in BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN

Superman.

Those actors are Oscar winner Holly Hunter, 300: Rise Of An Empire star Callan Mulvey, and The Wolverine‘s Tao Okamoto. They will be playing new, unidentified characters in the film, and they will join Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Jeremy Irons (Alfred), Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane.

Snyder had this to say in a statement:

“Holly has always been one of my favorite actresses; she has immense talent and is always captivating on screen.  I had an opportunity to meet her a while back and knew instantly that I had to work with her, so as we began writing the script I made sure to create a role specifically for her.

“I just had the good fortune to work with Callan on ‘300: Rise of an Empire’ and was very impressed with his incredible talent. He’s a fantastic actor and I’m looking forward to having the chance to work with him again.  And, quite simply, Tao is a striking presence whose beauty is aptly rivaled by her amazing abilities as an actress.  I’m really excited to have her joining us on this adventure.”

The movie will be released on May 6th, 2016. Everyone is curious to see what Snyder does with this film, but it looks like a lot of fan think he’s going to screw it up. Let’s see what happens.
