The full trailer of Warcraft premiered as BlizzCon 2015, and it was quite an amazing experience watching it in a room full of Warcraft fans. I don’t think you will have had to play the game to be able to enjoy this movie. This seems like it will be the kind of film that will appeal to all fantasy movie fans! The whole interview was to answer questions about the canceled Darth Maul game that was being developed before the closure of LucasArts. He stated that he and his team were working on an unofficial prototype to take to the big wigs over at EA Games, as they are currently handling the Star Wars franchise for the next few years. It’d be awesome to see new life pumped into this game, as Darth Maul is one character everybody wants to hear more about. One of the greatest sins of the prequels was killing off Maul in The Phantom Menace as opposed to making him a lingering force throughout the whole trilogy. Continue reading
Like many of you, I grew up on Star Wars. One of the things I liked to do most was play with the Star Wars action figures and imagine my own adventures. This commercial for Star Wars Battlefront plays on that idea, and its target market is all of those people who grew up with these films and toys in their lives. It hardly even touches on the video game aspect of Star Wars. The commercial is basically a short film that explodes with Star Wars nostalgia. It’s a beautifully made ad that brought back all those wonderful Star Wars memories of when I was a kid. Continue reading
Last week, we saw Master Chief die, his little face light blinking out sadly amongst the rubble of a ruined city. Today, we see him rise from the impromptu grave in a new TV trailer, giving a nice hint as to why he’s suddenly Galactic Enemy Number 1 (with the rest of his Blue Team squadron taking up positions 2 through 4), and even the game’s new Revive mechanic. Although no gameplay was shown of Halo Wars 2, we got a quick glimpse at a UNSC soldier (possibly a Spartan) being pulled away from danger as a Brute (who looked and sounded quite a bit like Halo 2 villain Tartarus) grins wickedly. “Run, little demons,” he taunts.
You’ll be able to wipe that smile from his toothy face in fall 2016.
Because sometimes you want to say something but would rather not use a headset or reconnect your Kinect, Microsoft has announced at Gamescom an Xbox One chat pad. Nearly identical to its Xbox 360 predecessor, the new chat pad will fit snugly on the bottom of the controller and let you thumb on a full QWERTY layout for Xbox One and Windows 10. No pricing or release date details, but Microsoft says pre-orders start today.
If Xbox fans could add any one game to the Xbox One backwards compatibility list, it would be Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Treyarch’s 2012 shooter has officially outpaced Red Dead Redemption as the most-requested Xbox 360 game on Microsoft’s official backwards compatibility survey page, with more than 77,000 votes at the time of this writing.
