Stephen Amell Says BLACK LIGHTNING Will Probably Join The Arrow-Verse
The CW’s top brass has been adamant about the fact that Black Lightning may not crossover with the rest of the Arrow-verse, although Stephen Amell doesn’t buy it. The Arrow star commented on the show’s success at AwesomeCon (via ComicBook) and told fans in attendance he believed a crossover is coming sooner or later:
“Everyone pretends like we’re not going to eventually cross over with Black Lightning but we’re probably gonna cross over with Black Lightning, because that’s just the way that the world works. . . . Yeah, I would love to. I think that anything you can do to expand the universe and to build out what we’ve built on our show would be great. So, I’m glad that show’s doing well, I hope that it has a very successful run, and I would love to be a small part of it in some way shape, or form.”
Yeah, I tend to agree with Amell especially given the show’s success. Even if the Black Lightning crew is sticking their heads in the ground and refusing a collaboration, The CW is going to mix it into the bunch. I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing, personally, as I think it would be weirder not to include Black Lightning in the next crossover event. I’m sure some people feel differently, so share your thoughts in the comments below.
Mark Hamill Talks About Recasting Leia in EPISODE IX
2016 was a rough year for geeks. So many pop culture icons were lost that year. For Star Wars fans, the biggest loss came in December 2016 with the passing of Carrie Fisher. Fisher was our princess, our hero, and our general. Her passing came after filming for The Last Jedi finished but before its premiere. This has left many wondering what will happen with Leia in Episode IX. We were all lead to believe that she would play an integral role in the film, but now that will most likely be different.
J.J. Abrams has a tough task ahead of him in writing Episode IX with Chris Terrio and having to figure out what to do with Leia. Kathleen Kennedy has already said that they will not digitally reconstruct Leia similar to Tarkin in Rogue One. This leaves an off-screen death with an explanation in the opening crawl or recasting Leia. Neither of those options will be very satisfying for fans.
The Film Adaptation of RED SONJA Moves Forward with the Writer of THOR and X-MEN: FIRST CLASS
After the success of Wonder Woman, Millennium Films was excited about moving forward with their feature film adaptation of Robert E. Howard‘s Red Sonja. The production company has now hired screenwriter Ashley Edward Miller to write the screenplay. Miller has worked on projects such as Thor, X-Men: First Class, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and the upcoming remake of Big Trouble in Little China.
Red Sonja made her comic debut in Marvel’s Conan the Barbarian #23 back in 1975 from writer Roy Thomas and artist Barry Windsor-Smith. She was loosely based on Red Sonya of Rogatino in Robert E. Howard‘s 1934 short story “The Shadow of the Vulture.”
Steven Spielberg: Indiana Jones 5 Will be Harrison Ford’s Last

The Sun reported that Ready Player One director Steven Spielberg thinks that Indiana Jones 5 will be Harrison Ford’s last movie in the franchise.
“This will be Harrison Ford’s last Indiana Jones movie, I am pretty sure, but it will certainly continue after that,” he said.
Spielberg also discussed the possibility of Indiana Jones being played by a female. Despite knowing that fans would be outraged over the character’s gender changing, he thinks it is time for the change to happen.
Actress Andie MacDowell Says A GROUNDHOG DAY Sequel Is Never Going To Happen
![]()
Groundhog Day is a film someone can watch again, and again, and again, but don’t ever expect the film to have a sequel. That’s what actress Andie MacDowell said anyway, as she told THR the chances of the film ever getting a sequel are incredibly slim due to the fact that Bill Murray would never go for it:
“People always say, ‘Let’s do Groundhog Day again.’ First of all, Bill Murray’s never going to do it, so you can forget that. I know him. He’s not going to do it.”
I’m more surprised at the news there are still people clamoring for a Groundhog Day sequel than I am that Bill Murray isn’t down to do another film. It’s a good film, don’t get me wrong, but why would we need a sequel for it? That said, in the rhetorical scenario that one was made, would you see it in theaters?
Woody Harrelson is Reportedly Playing Carnage in The VENOM Movie
When Woody Harrelson was cast in Venom, there was speculation among fans that maybe he could end up playing Carnage in the film. Well, according to a new report from Bleeding Cool, he actually will be playing Carnage. The entertainment news site has been hit or miss with their movie scoop intel, so even though they say they can confirm it, we are going to treat it as a rumor for now.
However, if Woody Harrelson is playing Carnage that would be awesome! He is a great actor, who has played some wicked cool villains, and I’m sure he would do some great things with bringing the character to life on the big screen.
Stephen King’s THE STAND Will Now Be a 10-Hour CBS All-Access Series
Director Josh Boone has been developing an adaptation of Stephen King‘s epic post-apocalyptic novel The Stand since 2014. He’s been developing it for the big screen and at one point we heard that it could have been adapted into four films. Well, according to The Tracking Board he is now developing it as a 10-hour limited series at CBS. The good thing about this is that the story, which is super long, will actually get a proper full adaptation.
Boone was initially hired to write a script for a single film and he ended up turning is a 3-hour long script that everyone, including Stephen King, loved. The studio then asked him if he wanted to make multiple films, to which he said:
