Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5 is Dead, Says Ridley Scott

Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5 is Dead, Says Ridley Scott

In late 2015, it was revealed that 20th Century Fox‘s plans for Neill Blomkamp‘s proposed Alien 5 were in a holding pattern pending the release of Ridley Scott’s prequel Alien: Covenant. Now that we’re weeks away from Covenant‘s May 19 bow in theaters, Scott has been asked by Allocine about Blomkamp’s fivequel and he suggests it’s no longer an active project at all.

“There was never a script,” Scott stated bluntly. “It was an idea that evolved from, I believe, a 10-page pitch, and I was meant to be part of the producers on that. It didn’t evolve. Fox decided that they didn’t want to do it and that was it. I’d already done ‘Prometheus’ and I was planning ‘Covenant’ so I dunno.”

When pressed to say if he thinks the sequel would ever happen, Scott said, “I don’t think so, no.”

ALIEN Plushies From Hallmark

Of all places I would expect to see Alien merchandise, Hallmark is the last.  Despite my preconceived notions, the card retailer is currently selling the Ellen Ripley plushie on their website and the Xenomorph is expected to release on July 17th! Pick Ripley up right now and mark down a reminder for the Xenomorph plushie!

James Cromwell Reveals His Jurassic World 2 Character Ties into the Original Film

Following the reveal that Jeff Goldblum will return for the Jurassic World sequel, another connection to the original Jurassic Park in the upcoming film has been revealed. While being interviewed by Larry King, actor James Cromwell revealed some details about his Jurassic World 2 character in the sequel, saying:

ROGUE ONE Writer Has Another STAR WARS Project In The Works

Industrial Light & Magic Visual Effects Supervisor and writer of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story John Knoll has another Star Wars idea. According to THR, Knoll told attendees of the National Association of Broadcasters his idea is still a work in progress:

“I have another idea I’ve been tinkering with, It’s maybe 75 percent there. I haven’t pitched it to [Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy]. It’s another Star Wars thing.”

Did you think he was gonna run his mouth about a pitch before talking to the big dog?! Rogue One writer or not, that’s an easy way to get walking papers in the Disney family. Obviously, just the news alone is a reason to be excited as I think the Rogue One team did a better job capturing Star Wars nostalgia than The Force Awakens team. I wonder what story Knoll could be looking to tell?

“I can bring him back. I know how to bring him back. I use the [body] of a dying warrior as a portal that could bring somebody back.” Continue reading

Earlier this year, director M. Now, Shyamalan has taken to Twitter to announce that his next project will be a film colliding the two films and will be titled Glass.

“Finished the new script,” the writer-director wrote online. “It’s taken 17 years but I can finally answer the #1 question I get, ‘Are you making a f#&@ing sequel to Unbreakable or what?’ My new film is the sequel to Unbreakable AND Split. Fan Art by Boss Logic

Brie Larson is going to embark on one of her greatest adventures when she plays Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel in the MCU. She’s a rising star in Hollywood and Captain Marvel will most certainly be her biggest role to date.

Taking on the role of Captain Marvel wasn’t an easy one for her to make. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, she said is took “a really long time” to make the decision to do it, especially with the secrecy involved with the project because she couldn’t talk about it to anyone. She explained:

“I had to sit with myself, think about my life and what I want out of it. Ultimately, I couldn’t deny the fact that this movie is everything I care about, everything that’s progressive and important and meaningful, and a symbol I wished I would’ve had growing up. I really, really feel like it’s worth it if it can bring understanding and confidence to young women—I’ll do it.”
