Marvel has announced that the character Deathlok is coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. This is the first time the character will brought to life in a live-action project. J. August Richards, who appeared in the pilot and subsequent episodes as Mike Peterson, will now become Deathlok, and these are the details that they give us,

“Transformed into the cybernetic solider against his will, Mike Peterson (Richards) must struggle to find the man in the machine. With a high-tech eye that allows him to see through walls, super strength and increased speed courtesy of a cybernetic leg, will Deathlok fight alongside the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or against them?”

Executive Producer Jeffrey Bell had this to say in a statement,

“We have been waiting all season for this moment where we can reveal that Mike Peterson’s story arc is an origin story. We’re thrilled to have J. August Richards playing Deathlok and to have our audience enjoy this favorite Marvel character on the show.”

Richards added,

“If you would have asked when I was nine-years old what I wanted to be, I would have said a super hero and I’m so excited to be one now as an adult on TV! It’s a dream come true.”

Marvel and ABC are sure doing everything they can to keep audiences hooked on the show, and I’m going to keep watching!

Kevin Smith has more to Say About Ben Affleck’s Batman Suit

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52df1ae2e4b0421121352e82/1390353124783/?format=750w

Just yesterday Jennifer Garner talked to Entertainment Weekly and was asked about the Batman suit her husband Ben Affleck will be wearing in the upcoming film Batman Vs. Superman. She said, ”I’ve seen the suit. The suit is unbelievably cool. It’s a total reinvention. It looks great.” It’s not much, but she obviously seems to like it. Prior to that, Kevin Smith revealed that he saw the suit as well and gushed about his excitement for it, saying,

“You have not seen this costume in a movie, on film before. For a comic book fan, it was mind-bending… Because every other movie has done this Matrix-y black armor thing… There wasn’t a single nipple on this fucking suit man… I think everyone is just gonna be like ‘Holy Shit!’ It’s its own thing, man. We haven’t been down this path before.”

Smith is back with another statement about the suit design that he saw. While talking to Comic Book Therapy, the writer and director said that they gave fans the suit “they always wanted to see.” Here’s the full quote,

“I talked about it on Hollywood Babble-On, but I have seen the suit. I did this Man Of Steel Yahoo, fan event when the DVD came out. I was hosting Zack Snyder was there, Amy Adams, we had Henry Cavill from satellite over in the UK, and you know it was all about Man of Steel. And at one point Zack talked a little bit about the future and Batman Vs Superman, but when the show was all done, Zack was all like ‘Kev come here, come here’, and he takes me over to the corner and whips out his phone, and he shows me a picture of Batman. Live action version of Batman. A very familiar Batman, I might add. It didn’t look like any of the cinematic Batmans that have ever gone before. He shows me that picture and behind Batman…Superman in the suit looming in the distance. Both on a roof top kind of thing. It was on a set, a little set the put together for this photo shoot. So I was like ‘Oh my god! Is that the suit?! The suit looks amazing! Did you get people to model it?’ And he goes, ‘That’s your boy.’ And I look closely and it’s Ben Affleck wearing the suit. The suit, it is not mine to spill, in terms of what it looks like, you’ll see it. They’ll tell you when they want you to know, but any Batman fan is going to be F—ing pleased. I’m going to tell you that right now. They gave you the suit you all wanted to see.”

I seriously can’t wait to see the suit design for myself. I’ve got high expectations, and I’m expecting to be blown away by its awesomeness. One day the suit will be revealed to the world. In the meantime, all we have is the word of people who are lucky enough to have already seen it.

Marvel has announced that the release of Edgar Wright‘s Ant-Man will be moved up from July 31st, 2015 to July 17th, 2015, moving into the spot where Zack Snyder‘s Batman Vs. Superman used to be. It might only be two weeks earlier, but that’s two weeks that we don’t have to wait to see it.

The casting for the film has been pretty incredible so far with Paul Rudd paying Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Michael Douglas taking on the role of Hank Pym. There are also rumors that say Clifton Collins Jr. and Michael Pena are in talks to join the film production as well.

Marvel starts production on the highly-anticipated superhero film later this year!

BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Spoilerish Story Rumors Surface

https://i0.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52df1599e4b08544727c0368/1390351771875/batman-vs-superman-spoilerish-story-rumors-surface.jpg?resize=296%2C356

Are any of you hungry for some possible spoiler-filled information for Zack Snyder‘s Batman Vs. Superman? If you are, today is your luck day. If not, then I suggest you don’t read ahead because if any of these story points are true, they are big spoilers.

The following information comes from a message board for “a nexus of hardcore gamers, enthusiast press, and video game industry developers and publishers” called NeoGaf. The poster goes by the name James Woods, and you need to take this information with a grain of salt, because it could all be bullshit.

The guy who posted the following information says, “My source is someone from the art department that supposedly got shitcanned (apparently a bunch of them were fired). I confirm nothing. Just passing along what I heard. Take it with the proper amount of salt.”

Thanks to Latino-Review for the heads up on the following information. One last time: SPOILERS or Bullshit SPOILERS… you decide.

  • The villians are Lex Luthor and Metallo
  • Batman forms a UN type deal to stop Superman from destroying another city
  • Aquaman is in it, but not called Aquaman. He’s there because the world engine in the ocean did something to the fish
  • Wonder woman poses as a Wayne Enterprises investor to retrieve an item that belongs to her people.
  • Lex Luthor is in the shadows a lot, a manipulator. Not much face time with Superman.
  • Robin betrayed Batman at some point, leading to a falling out between them
  • The Batcave was super cool looking, and the mobile looked similar to Burton’s
  • Lois is investigating Lex.
  • Metallo “kills” Clark
  • The Daily Planet is bought by Lex Luthor for PR purposes
  • At the end Superman is living in exile, and the Justice League is a government approved superhero team.

Whatever the movie ends up being, I’m still looking forward to it! This information might also come from an early draft of the script that has since been changed.

The movie comes out on May 16th, 2016. We’ve sure got a long way to go. Hopefully the wait is worth it.

Michael Rooker on His Character in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52dff2e4e4b046834a6ad7c5/1390408428084/?format=750wto Unrendered in which he discussed his character, Yondu, in Guardians of the Galaxy, what fans can expect from the film, and his thoughts on working with director James Gunn again. There’s no doubt that Rooker is going to bring awesome badassery to the character he’s playing. We’ve seen a few photos from the set, and he definitely looks great. When asked about the part, he had this to say,

“As you can see from some of the photos out there, I’m not in a loincloth. I don’t have a major, major fin thing that goes down my back. We haven’t visually gone with the way that Yondu was in the comics.”

As for what we can expect to see in the movie, he says,

“Lovely, beautiful colors. What do you expect? It is a superhero movie. And I hope that you see it, and you’re going to be going ‘I’m going to see this again.’ That’s what I hope.”

Rooker goes on to talk about the director, whom he previously worked with on the horror comedy Slither,

“It was a beautiful shoot. James Gunn was an awesome, awesome director to work with again. I’ve worked with him before in the past, and it was great to get to do it again.”

When asked about what attracts him to James Gunn as an artist, he replied,

“It’s what attracts him to me, not what attracts me to him. You’ve got the wrong question there. [Laughing] We get along well. We’ve been good friends since our first film. He allows me to do my thing, and he has great comments. Very good director…when you’re lost in the woods, he can direct you.”

I think this movie was perfectly cast, and not only is it going to be fun seeing Rooker in his role, but it’s also going to be amazing seeing the rest of the cast, which includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill / Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Vin Diesel as Groot, John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, and Karen Gillan as Nebula. The movie comes out on August 1st, 2015!

Pixar to Develop Animated STAR WARS Film?

https://i1.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/52e043c5e4b0ec1a226840ae/1390429127013/Pixar_Wars86868697.jpg?resize=445%2C267

Ever since Disney got their four fingered hands on the Star Wars franchise people have wondered if Pixar would get to work on an animated Star Wars film. Well, it looks like the answer is yes! According to our friends at Latino-Review, the talented animation studio has been given their own Star Wars movie to work on! How freakin’ cool is that?! I guess it was bound to happen. John Lasseter must be very happy.

As of right now there’s no information on what the story will be, or what characters will be involved, but I have no doubt that whatever they do, it’s going to be freakin’ amazing! There’s also no word on when the film will be released, but I’m sure it’s going to be a few long years.

This team-up between Pixar and Lucasfilm has incredible potential to be insanely awesome, and I am seriously excited to see what they give the fans! It could be anything from a movie about Jawas to Droids to a movie about a young Han Solo and Chewbacca. Whatever they do, I’m already on board.

FANTASTIC FOUR – Kit Harrington and Saoirse Ronan Up for Lead Roles about

20th Century Fox and director Josh Trank (Chronicle) are getting really close to finalizing their cast for The Fantastic Four reboot they are developing.

According to VarietySimon Kinberg is finished with the script, and the studio is going to start testing for the roles of Reed Richards (aka Mister Fantastic) and Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman) by the end of the month.

We’ve heard for a long time that The Spectacular Now star Miles Teller was in the running for the role of Richards, and he is! But apparently he’s still got some competition gunning for the part. Two other actors that are testing for the part include Game of ThronesKit Harington and Richard Madden. Both of whom are decent choices, but I still think that Teller is the best fit for the role.

As for Sue Storm, we have Kate Mara and Saoirse Ronan in the running for the part. Both are interesting choices, but I think maybe that Mara would fit the part a little better.

The report then confirms that Michael B. Jordan is attached to play Johnny Storm, and that he will read with the actors to see which group has the best chemistry with.

The Fantastic Four is slated to bow June 19th, 2015. The last two Fantastic Four movies left a bad taste in a lot of fans’ mouths, but I think the studio is determined to finally give us a movie that fans can be proud of. Hopefully Trank will assemble an incredible cast and give us that movie we are all hoping for!

Gal Gadot Signs 3 Picture Deal as Wonder Woman

wonder-woman

There’s a few bits of new information regarding actress Gal Gadot‘s Wonder Woman role. During an interview with Good Evening with Gai Pines, a top entertainment show in Israel, Gadot is locked into a 3 movie deal to play Wonder Woman in Batman vs. Superman, Justice League and I’m sure that would include a stand alone film as well. Makes sense that the studio would lock her in for multiple films.

The studio also got her for cheap. The report says that she will make $300,000 for her role as Wonder Woman in Batman vs. Superman. That is likely to got up after the movie ends up becoming a mega hit. They also revealed that Gadot will start shooting the Man of Steel sequel in May.

It’s going to be really interesting to see what they do with Gadot for this character. I still don’t see her as the Wonder Woman type, but lets see what she ends up looking like when she’s in the role and kicking some ass.

Trailers for DOOMED! The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s “The Fantastic Four”

trailer-for-doomed-the-untold-story-of-roger-cormans-the-fantastic-fourBack in 1994, legendary B-Movie filmmaker Roger Corman produced one of Marvel’s first movies. It was a feature film adaptation of The Fantastic Four, which at the time never saw the light of day. It has since been bootlegged and leaked, and has gained a cult following over the years.

Director Marty Langford has created a documentary called DOOMED!: The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s “The Fantastic Four,”  which gives us the full behind the scenes story of the film’s troubled production and release.

Here’s an explanation of why the documentary was made, and then you can check out a couple of trailers for it below, giving you a little taste of what the doc will entail.

There are 336 names in the end crawl credits of the 1994 film, ‘The Fantastic Four’.  And though owners of the bootleg version of the film may appreciate them, the artists and craftspeople who created the movie have never been properly recognized.

And that’s too bad.

‘The Fantastic Four’ has never been viewed legally by anyone in the world, other than those directly involved in the production. The negative presumably sits, to this day, on some shelf in some facility, both gathering dust and fated to become it.

So – what are we going to do about that?

For starters, we have interview commitments from EVERY principal cast and crew member. And based on the pre-interviews we’ve conducted, this documentary is going to be explosive!

-When did the cast and crew discover the film would be shelved?
-What changed from script to production based on character rights (just who *is* The Jeweler?), budget, and time constraints?
-How much control did Marvel wield over the movie? Before it was made and after it was shelved?
-Is a legitimate release still possible?
-Who are today’s A-list actors who auditioned but didn’t make the cut?

For the first time in over 20 years, the TRUE account of this controversial cult classic will be revealed!

And it’s a hell of a story.
