Sony Moves Up Spider-Man Release Date, Delays Jumanji Reboot.

Sony Pictures has announced a few changes to their release calendar starting with their upcoming Spider-Man reboot, a co-production with Marvel Studios. Previously set for July 28, 2017, Spider-Man will now be released on July 7, 2017. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales previously held that spot, but it was just moved to May 2017. INFINITY WAR, Spider-Man, and Cap’s Suit in CIVIL WAR

Joe and Anthony Russo are currently working on Captain America: Civil War, and when they are done with that they are going to jump right into developing Avengers: Infinity War. The MCU is a locomotive of awesomeness and there’s no stopping it now. We just get to ride along on Marvel’s adventure, and it’s exciting to think about the things that will eventually happen.

The two directors recently did an interview with Weeping Angel in China, and they talked a great deal about Civil War, and Captain America’s relationship with Winter Soldier and Black Widow. They talk about the challenges of making the film, their approach in bringing Spider-Man to life in the Marvel universe, Cap’s costume, and how the stakes have been raised for the Avengers in Infinity War. Tom Holland has been seen on the Doctor Strange set.

Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito shared via social media a few behind the scenes photos from the set of Marvel’s now-in-production “Phase Three” entry, Doctor Strange. Not only did D’Esposito offer some new shots of the Doctor Strange set and confirm that Sinister‘s C. Tom Holland didn’t have an easy time of it when he was recast as our third Spider-Man in 15 years. Kevin Feige Says Marvel Plans To Do Great Things With Spider-Man

If there’s a fan out there who thinks Marvel went through the trouble of negotiating shared custody of Spider-Man with Sony because they felt they could get something mediocre out of the character, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige assures you that the bar is set at least a little bit higher.

“Making that agreement … was great, and was really amazing, and on a personal level making these movies, it means a lot because I think we can do great things with Spider-Man,” Feige told IGN. “I think Spider-man can serve great purpose in our universe and that’s where he belongs. That was what was unique about him in the comics was not that he was the only superhero in the world; it’s that he was a totally different kind of superhero when compared against all the other ones in the Marvel universe at the time.”

You know what they say: “With great purpose, comes great profitability,”…wait, that’s not right…

SINISTER SIX Movie Could Still Happen If Marvel Wants It To

When Marvel and Sony teamed up to reboot Spider-Man and introduce the superhero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans were excited as hell! Of course, in the process some things were sacrificed like the Sinister Six movie that Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods) was developing. I was more excited about that project than anything else Sony was working on before Marvel came into the picture.

In a recent interview with io9, Goddard opened up about his original vision of the film, explaining that it would have been standalone Spider-Man movie set in the world of The Amazing Spider-Man, and it would have featured the return of Andrew Garfield as the web-slinger. Continue reading →

Another Spider-Man Character Will Reportedly Appear in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

Captain America: Civil War wrapped production this weekend and is now heading into the post-production portion of the filmmaking process. Also, we now have word that another Spider-Man character will be making an appearance in the movie.
