‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Almost Had a Yoda Cameo

Star Wars: The Force Awakens went through quite a few rewrites and changes over the course of three years. And we’ve heard a lot about certain classic characters that almost made the cut. Jedi master Yoda may have gotten closest of all, but alas, most of his scenes were cut from the movie, except for a few quick snippets of dialogue. Yoda would have reappeared as a Force Ghost, just as he did at the end of Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. But that idea was nixed early on in the process. The Force Awakens editors Maryann Brandon and Mary Jo Markey revealed to ET that the diminutive green warrior was being considered for the sequel. They even went so far as to have original Yoda puppeteer Frank Oz come in and participate. Continue reading
