Lex Luthor’s Hairstyle in BATMAN V SUPERMAN

It’s the only hairstyle fanboys are showing any interest in these days. It’s just one of those things that people want to know!

Thanks to Batman-News we have some information on the matter. Over the last few days there have been scenes filmed at LexCorp, and according to sources on the set, Eisenberg is walking around with a full set of hair. They say that it’s not Eisenberg’s “typical curly look — it’s a bit longer, kind of loose and wavy, and it’s dirty blonde.” They go on to explain more about the character saying, “Eisenberg’s Luthor has spastic mannerisms, like a 20-something guy that pounds energy drinks all day.”

The site also gives some additional information on what the inside of LexCorp is like, “I’ve been told it’s ‘f***ing awesome’. There’s a basketball court in the lobby with a giant 30 foot neon LexCorp industries sign.”

Its great to see how  the effects are still great and  hold up after time for this movie.  its still entertaining after all these years and  the  effects still look great from the day they were  first introduced

Industrial Light and Magic is the team that amazingly brought the dinosaurs to life on the big screen. We have a fascinating featurette that you need to watch that focuses on bringing the live-action elements together with the VFX elements. It’s really cool to get a before and after look at all the movie magic that had to happen to bring this classic film to life for us.

Here’s a little trivia that gives some backstory on what Steven Spielberg needed to do to make this movie work.

Steven Spielberg didn’t want people to be constantly reminded that what they’re seeing is CGI, but real, full-blooded dinosaurs, starting with the Brachiosaur scene, where Spielberg was keen on the dinosaur interacting with the background, and would offer suggestions to the animators on how to make it better. The second scene done in that same vein was the Gallimimus scene, which made use of 25 animated individual Gallimimuses. Geometric shapes represented them initially and were choreographed onto the scene. Spielberg needed complete freedom to convey the energy of the scene, so worked with Dennis Muren to shoot it, because he wanted to move the camera and not lock it down everytime a Gallimimus came into frame. The scene was shot gradually with Sam Neill, Joseph Mazzello and Ariana Richards running through a field by themselves. A grid was placed over the ground as a frame to chart the movement of the camera by computer, using what looked like golf balls whenever an actor looked somewhere. The dinosaurs were than added later.

The T-Rex chasing the Jeep was the most difficult scene to animate. Steve ‘Spaz’ Williams had to do research because there’s no frame of reference for a running animal of that size; it took two months to figure out how to get it to run, for instance. He would run the sequence backwards to see all the mistakes. They were also able to use the computer to add little details to authenticate the scene, e.g. the T-Rex running through puddles of water and leaving splashes, etc. The splashing was filmed individually and then the computer added it to the T-Rex’s footsteps.

Some Comic Book Characters That Were Created Outside of Comics

There have been some great comic book characters that have been introduced to us over the years, but not all of these characters were created for the comics. There are a handful of them that were created for other media before they found their way into the comic universes of Marvel and DC. Here is a list of ten comic characters that you may or may not know originated outside of the comics.

Harley Quinn

That’s right folks, everyone’s favorite sadistic Joker sidekick wasn’t introduced into Batman’s Rogues Gallery until Batman: The Animated Series. She was an instant classic! The first comic she appeared in was The Batman Adventures #12 in September of 1993. Over the years she has had her own series and also teamed up with Poison Ivy and Catwoman several times to beat down on Batman. She is my favorite female villain of all time.

Agent Coulson

Agent Coulson was introduced into the Marvel cinematic universe in Iron Man. Before that he didn’t exist. He has since become the face of S.H.I.E.L.D., not only in the movies and TV, but in the comic books. His first appearance in the Marvel Comics universe was in the mini-series “Battle Scars.”

This character was introduced in the classic 1981 animated series Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. I believe the cartoon reruns on Disney XD. In the show Spider-Man teamed up with a new character named Firestar, a.k.a.Angelica Jones. The character became popular enough for Marvel to bring her into their comic world. She was introduced to the comic universe in 1985’s Uncanny X-Men #193. She went on to get her own miniseries and ended up being an original member of the New Warriors.

X-23

X-23 was born from the series X-Men: Evolution and was created by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost. She has since become one of Marvel’s most badass female characters. She is the young female equivalent to Wolverine and quickly became part of the comic books in 2004 in NYX. She was one of several wayward, homeless mutants. She ended up getting her own solo ongoing series, joined the X-Men and X-Force, and is also a big part of the Avengers Arena cast.

Terry McGinnis

Most of the characters on this list have been side/secondary characters or villains. Batman Beyond‘s Terry McGinnis is a main character in the universe. The incredible Batman Beyond series a followed a teenager who takes on the role of Batman in the not too distant future under the tutelage of an elderly Bruce Wayne. His first appearance in the mainstream comic books was in Batman #700 in June 2010.

Jimmy Olsen

Jimmy Olsen, who is a huge part of the Superman mythos, was never a part of the comics until after he first showed up on a 1940s radio show program called The Adventures of Superman. A year after he was on the show he was brought into the DC universe. There was an unnamed “office boy” who made a brief appearance in Action Comic #6, which some people claim was Olsen, but Jimmy’s name wasn’t actually used in the comics until 1941 in Superman v1 #13.

Green Hornet

I know a lot of people thought that The Green Hornet was a comic book before it was made into a TV show and eventual movie. That is actually true! What many people don’t know is that, like Jimmy Olsen, The Green Hornet’s introduction came in the form of a radio series on a local Detroit station in January of 1936. The first comic book was published in 1940.

Bebop & Rocksteady

These two knuckleheads didn’t make it into the Ninja Turtles comics until after they were introduced as Shredder’s henchmen in the classic 1987 cartoon. Their names come from genres of music: bebop is a style of jazz, while rocksteady is a Jamaican music style. They also appeared in in the Archie TMNT Adventures comics.

Chloe Sullivan

This adorably quirky character was specifically created for the amazing TV series Smallville. She was basically a high school equivalent of Lois Lane, and fans of the show loved her. She was then introduced in the bi-monthly Smallville comic book series, and in Novemeber 2010 was given an introduction to the official DC comics universe when she appeared outside of the Smallville universe. Her first non-Smallville comic was “Jimmy Olsen’s Big Week,” which was a serialized Jimmy Olsen story in Action Comics #893.

Renee Montoya

She was assigned to Gotham’s Major Crime Unit and partnered up with Harvey Bullock every now and then to fight crime. She was imported into the comic series in 1992, the same year that the animated series debuted. She was also a recurring character in the third season of the animated web-series Gotham Girls. She became a recurring character in the Batman comics after Batman #475.

Keanu Reeves Replaces Daniel Craig in THE WHOLE TRUTH

Daniel Craig was set to star in a courtroom drama called The Whole Truth, but unexpectedly had to drop out four days before shooting began. Deadline is now reporting that Keanu Reeves has come in to take his place. This will be quite a different role for Reeves than the kinds of films we’re used to seeing him in. Lately he’s been doing a lot of genre films dealing mostly with martial arts, which is something he obviously has had a passion for since The Matrix.

The actor will play a defense attorney who “fights to get his teenage client acquitted of murdering his wealthy father.” He will join the previously cast Renee Zellweger, Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Belle), and Gabriel Basso (Super 8, Kings of Summer).

This isn’t the first time Reeves has played an attorney, he also played one in The Devil’s Advocate. I really do like Reeves as an actor, and it’s good to see him take on a part like this that breaks free from the norm he’s accustomed to . The movie will be directed by Courtney Hunt from a script written by Nicholas Kazan. The film will shoot in New Orleans after the Fourth of July weekend.

Powerpuff Girls Returning With New Series on Cartoon Network

Sugar, spice and everything nice are coming back to Cartoon Network. That’s right, The Powerpuff Girls—Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles—are returning for new adventures, Cartoon Network announced almost 10 years after the original series ended.

“The original Powerpuff Girls was a franchise phenomenon for Cartoon Network, paving the way for a new generation of innovative storytellers and enthusiastic fans worldwide,” Rob Sorcher, chief content officer, Cartoon Network, said in a statement. “We are calling these girls back into action based upon an overwhelming demand for sugar, spice and Chemical X.”

The pint-size superheroes were created by accident when Professor Utonium accidentally mixed Chemical X with sugar, spice and everything nice in an attempt to make perfect little girls.

The Powerpuff Girls debuted in 1998 and lasted until 2005. Cartoon Network aired a 10th anniversary special in 2009 and a new CGI TV movie in early 2014. Catherine Cavadini voiced Blossom, Tara Strong portrayed Bubbles and E.G. Daily voiced Buttercup in the original series.

The Powerpuff Girls are just one of many popular children properties returning to life. Disney recently announced The Lion Guard, a sequel series to The Lion King franchise following Simba’s young son. Meanwhile, Netflix and Scholastic Media are bringing The Magic School Bus back to life with a new series. It’s a growing trend in the space with shows like Arrested Development, The Comeback and Heroes also finding new life after cancellation.

New episodes of The Powerpuff Girls are set to debut in 2016.

G.I. JOE Director Jon Chu to Direct NOW YOU SEE ME 2

G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon M Chu is already done shooting his Jem and the Holograms adaptation, and now it looks like he’s ready to take on the world of magic. According to The Wrap he is the frontrunner to helm Now You See Me 2 for Summit Entertainment.

The first film was directed by Louis Leterrier, and regardless of how ridiculous it was I really had a great time watching it. I was hoping that we’d get a sequel, so it’s good to see that it’s moving forward. The movie made more than $350 million worldwide.

The first movie follows an FBI agent and an Interpol detective as they track a team of illusionists (The Four Horsemen) who pull off bank heists during their performances and give their audiences the money.

Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Mark Ruffalo are all expected to return. I don’t see how they could make it without them. It will be fun to see where they take the story and get some more insight into the underground magician society they were brought into.

Set Footage with Thor, Captain America and Tony Stark on AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

It gives us a look at Chris Evans as Captain America and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, with Chris Hemsworth as Thor calling down lightening from the sky. It also gives us a brief glimpse at some recruits training for what might be a part of the Avengers initiative that Tony Stark is bankrolling. This is mostly likely the organization that will be taking the place of S.H.I.E.L.D. I like the Captain America blue color of the recruits outfits. I hope Agent Coulson returns to the Marvel cinematic universe in Age of Ultron. The movie is set to be released in theaters on May 1st, 2015!

DC’s answer to marvel with their movie line up!

Note that Fink says “a lot of stuff remains in flux,” but here is what she’s reporting the studio’s schedule looks like:

May 2016 – Batman v Superman

July 2016 – Shazam

Xmas 2016 – Sandman

May 2017 – Justice League

July 2017 – Wonder Woman

Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up

May 2018 – Man of Steel 2

This is kind of a crazy news break. So Warners is going to announce all of this in San Diego next month? Almost two years before Batman v Superman is even out?!

Still, wild as it sounds, Finke, the founder of the Hollywood trade site Deadline, has long been in the scoop game. After leaving Deadline on reportedly acrimonious terms, she has been out of the picture for months due to a non-competition clause with her former outlet. But as of today she has launched her own, new site, and it would seem as though she has used the biggest ammo in her reserve to do so: superhero movie news.

Plus, as we all know, Dwayne Johnson has been hinting about a DC movie he has coming up which many have thought to be Shazam (with the actor perhaps playing the villainous Black Adam). Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in fact developing a Sandman movie, and it has kind of gone without saying that Wonder Woman, Flash, and GL would probably get their own films eventually. At least, that’s surely what the studio has been hoping/praying would happen. And there was a report this past April that the studio had plans to develop at least nine more comics-based films.

Line-up said to include Justice League, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and more.

A new report has dropped today which claims to outline DC and Warner Bros.’ movie plans for the next several years, including the status of films based on Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, the Justice League, and more.

 

 

The report goes on to say that a Metal Men and Suicide Squad movie had been a possibility as well for 2016, but that is no longer the case. (It’s not clear if she means one movie for both properties or two separate films.) Further, Finke elaborates on what happened with the delay of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

According to her source, “There will be cameos of superheroes for future installments [in Dawn of Justice]. The cameos will include the already known Cyborg and Flash.” Green Lantern, as per this report, may also show up (not played by Ryan Reynolds), and Aquaman will appear in the Justice League film.

“Problem is,” continues the source, “Warner Bros Pictures was still negotiating with the actors for those cameos and future roles, meaning major contracts for multiple JL/character films to follow. The studio didn’t want to move forward until they had more of this secure so they held off starting production for a few months.”

So was Warner Bros. and DC’s big Comic-Con plan just blown? We’ll find out next month…

Wow what an announcement!  this is  huge  and  here i thought  dc was  going to  nothing for a long time and  pow we are hit with this!  this is  amazing  news!  this is the  answer to marvel  that we  all have been waiting  for.  not  crazy about the  line up  but at  least its a line up!  lets see what happens in the next few months!

Jason Momoa Aquaman in Zack Snyder’s Justice League

Is Jason Momoa Aquaman in Zack Snyder’s Justice League?

Following the rumored lineup of big screen DC Universe films that broke earlier this week comes word, via Hitfix, that “Game of Thrones” star Jason Momoa will be playing Aquaman in both Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.

Bear in mind, this news contradicts one of the details from Nikki Finke’s Thursday report, claiming that Aquaman would not appear in the May 6, 2016 release and would instead make his debut in Justice League. It does, however, tie back to a report from last December that suggested Momoa had met to read for a mystery Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice role.

TheWrap‘s Jeff Sneider then took to Twitter, posting his own Justice League rumor, claiming that Martian Manhunter will appear alongside Max Lord and Darkseid.

Warner Bros. is likely to make some major reveals and/or confirmations about all of this at Comic-Con International in San Diego next month, so keep checking back for details as they become available.
