Legendary Pictures was at San Diego Comic-Con today presenting several of their upcoming film projects. During the presentation, Legendary CEO Thomas Tull confirmed earlier reports that Gareth Edwards would be coming back to direct Godzilla 2. The lineup of monsters we will see in future installments of the franchise were also revealed in a fun video presentation from Project Monarch. Those additional monsters include Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah. The crowd got pretty damn excited about these monsters coming in to join Godzilla. Edwards will start working on the project as soon as he’s finished directing his Star Wars movie for Lucasfilm.

At the end of the panel, Legendary had a big surprise for attendees. The studio ended the panel with a teaser for a film called Skull Island, which will tell an origin story of another great beast… King Kong. The teaser takes us through the island and ends with King Kong standing up through the tree’s beating on his chest and letting out a roar. The reveal was kind of anti-climatic, but it was still cool to see that they are making another King Kong flick.

I think it’s safe to say that somewhere down the line King Kong and Godzilla will meet on the big screen again. Skull Island will be released on November 4th, 2016.

Guillermo del Toro Says JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK Will Be Separate from Other DC Projects

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53d52059e4b052a8d0328dc5/1406476379983/guillermo-del-toro-says-justice-league-dark-will-be-separate-from-other-dc-projects1?format=500w

During a interview with Guillermo del Toro at Comic-Con SHH asked the director about the Justice League Dark project that he’s been developing. He was asked if this would connect with any of the other DC properties currently in development, like Constantine or Sandman. This was what he said,

“I’m still working on it. Sandman doesn’t figure in the Dark Universe. We have Deadman, we have the Demon, we have Swamp Thing, we have Zatana, we have Constantine, but DC and Warners have been very clear that they are trying to keep those properties separate so when the time comes they can unite them, once they know they’re quantifiable. Batman, Superman, Green Lantern… everyone eventually will come together. Right now, they’re allowing us independence.”

When it comes to the Constantine TV series that’s coming out and how that figures into the equation he said,

“No, I had that conversation when the Constantine show was pitched. I said, ‘Do I have to have continuity with that?’ and they said, ‘No, feel free to continue the way you’re going.”

He added, “Swamp Thing for me is my favorite superhero of all times. I always like the monsters.” That comment led him into talking about the Hulk, “I love the Hulk,“ which was followed by an update on the Hulk TV series that he was working on with Marvel. Unfortunately, he says that the show has been cancelled, and he thinks the reasoning behind is because they were having so much success with Mark Ruffalo’s version of the character in the movies.

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY Trailer

https://i1.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53d112f6e4b07647985efebc/1406210817924/Screen%20Shot%202014-07-24%20at%2010.03.49%20AM.png?resize=416%2C208

So Universal Pictures decided to released their first full trailer for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie during San Diego Comic-Con. I just find that weird for some reason. I’ve hardly posted anything on this movie since it doesn’t really interest me, but since it’s a full trailer, and I know there’s an audience out there for this thing, I figured… what the hell? So if any of you are interested or curious about what this thing actually is, you’ll find the synopsis and trailer below. After I watched it… I’m still not interested.

Fifty Shades of Grey is the hotly anticipated film adaptation of the bestselling book that has become a global phenomenon. Since its release, the “Fifty Shades” trilogy has been translated into 51 languages worldwide and sold more than 100 million copies in e-book and print—making it one of the biggest and fastest-selling book series ever.

Stepping into the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, who have become iconic to millions of readers, are Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson.

Joining Dornan and Johnson in the cast are Luke Grimes as Elliot, Christian’s brother; Victor Rasuk as José, Anastasia’s close friend; Eloise Mumford as Kate, Anastasia’s best friend and roommate; Marcia Gay Harden as Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey, Christian’s mother; Rita Ora as Mia, Christian’s sister; Max Martini as Taylor, Christian’s bodyguard; Callum Keith Rennie as Ray, Anastasia’s stepfather; Jennifer Ehle as Carla, Anastasia’s mother; and Dylan Neal as Bob, Carla’s husband.

Fifty Shades of Grey was directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and the screenplay for the film is by Kelly Marcel. The movie will be released on February 11th, 2015.

New Photo of Ben Affleck as Batman in BATMAN V SUPERMAN

https://i1.wp.com/static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53d179a2e4b0a866cf0e4ac7/1406237102755/bbYOEJn.jpg?resize=419%2C610

Warner Bros. has released this new close-up image of Ben Affleck looking like a complete badass as Batman in Zack Snyder‘s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He’s definitely got that solid superhero chin. I don’t care what anyone says, I think Affleck is going to be great in this role, and I can’t wait to see him and Superman on the big screen together. Hopefully Snyder is able to deliver a solid script and story as well.

still looking  great i cant wait till a trailer hits

Simon Kinberg on X-MEN: APOCALYPSE and GAMBIT

http://static.squarespace.com/static/51b3dc8ee4b051b96ceb10de/t/53d00fe4e4b0b1c1fde1b3ee/1406144508394/simon-kinberg-on-x-men-apocalypse-four-horsemen-and-gambit?format=500w

During an interview with Latino Review, X-Men screenwriter Simon Kinberg talked a little bit about what is coming for X-Men: Apocalypse, including some details about the Four Horsemen, as well as the status of Channing Tatum‘s Gambit.

The writer was asked if he sees the X-Men franchise as being a single narrative like Marvel Studios’ different phases, and this was how he answered:

“We think about these X-Men movies as spread over – X-Men: First Class, Days of Future Past to Apocalypse was imagined as a trilogy for us. It’s the Origin stories in some ways of Charles, Raven, Hank and Eric and we will be settling things up in Apocalypse that will be generating new stories. We look at it globally as to where to mutants fit into the world. That’s why we jump from the 60’s to the 70’s and now the 80’s. We really want to be able to track the progression of the world and where do mutants fit in that world. It’s a pretty radical thing to do in any movie but certainly in a superhero franchise where you are jumping a decade each time you make a film. The reason that it is globally is that we wanted to be able to track the impact of mutants and the emergence of mutants into the world. Personally, we are very clear from the beginning as to how Charles, Eric and Raven especially dovetail, duck and weave in and out of each others lives. We were building, in some ways, a trilogy that is a story of three people; a brother, a little sister and another man who comes, in some ways, as a brother and how that sister leaves with the new brother. The war for that [sister’s] soul between these two men defines First Class, Days of Future Past and Apocalypse . That’s a larger story we are telling even though each of those films is its own coherent and complete film. You can look at the arc of those three characters almost like a television show arcing over three complete episodes.”

Kinberg goes on to say that it will “take advantage of the historical context of the 80s.” They are covering a lot of historical ground here with these movies. It will be interesting to see what aspects of history they pull from that era to implement into the story they are going to tell. He was then asked about Tatum playing Gambit and if he’ll be introduced in a team movie before getting his own solo movie or vice versa.

“I genuinely don’t know the answer to that question. It’s something we are all talking about whether it would be good for Gambit to be in a mainline X-Men movie or he would be in his own stand-alone movie potentially one day to be able to be in another X-Men movie after his Gambit movie introduces him. I really don’t know the answer. I don’t think there is a hard and fast rule which way is better. I think both ways have worked and I think actually the real question will be is there a role that is strong and specific enough for Gambit in a mainline X-Men movie whether it be Apocalypse or [a] future X-Men movie that would be the right way to introduce the character. You don’t want to stick characters in these movies and manufacture something for them to do. You want the movie to tell you that it needs another character or ideally it needs this specific character.”

As for the Four Horsemen in X-Men: Apocalypse, he was coaxed into giving a little bit of info saying:

“I will tell you this and obviously there are a lot of different versions of the [Horsemen] over the books, and this will not reveal any of the identities so I apologize in advance. I will let you know that our choosing of the [Horsemen] was something that we, Bryan and myself took very, very seriously and did only after an exhaustive review of all the different [Horsemen], both in the comics and the cartoons who have at one point or another fallen under Apocalypse.”

well its a  while till both will be  made  but  what are your thoughts on this?
